NOW CLOSED

With a school half term in our midst, you may be thinking about the ways you can keep your children occupied and active. Arla BIG Milk would like to hear about the Big Adventures you have planned or have been on this October half term.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk has to say: “We know how important it is to get your little explorers out in the world around them, so we’ve partnered with Magic Light to bring you yearlong BIG Adventures. From Gruffalo nature trail walks to BIG Adventures craft videos, there’s lots for you and your little one to get involved in. We’re also running an on pack monthly prize draw, available across UK grocery retailers, to give you the chance to win an amazing trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Arla Big Milk is simply fresh whole milk that’s enriched with essential nutrients so if you want to join in on the adventure, come visit our site to explore activities for your half term.”

What days out do you have planned for the half term? Do you have a trip to a theme or adventure park pencilled in? Perhaps you have plans to explore the great outdoors with your children? If you’ve already been on adventures this half term, what did you get up to?

Whatever your half term plans, post them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Off to Wales for a few days in a caravan (a nice one with central heating).
Can't wait - need it after a very busy half term.

We're getting into the Halloween spirit! Visiting Calke Abbey (National Trust) to enjoy some fresh air & do some exploring around the grounds & probably partaking in some halloween-themed craft activities :)
We want to make the most of the Autumn sunshine & go for a ramble somewhere.. with the destination being a place where we can grab a large piece of cake & a cup of tea for me!
I also fancy having a go at paper marbling - haven't done it for years, but I remember being fascinated by it & I've read that added nail varnish gives a really nice effect so we'll give that a try together :)

We're booked up seeing non-school friends, celebrating my son's 3rd birthday and heading to London for a trip to the Wonder Lab.

For the moment we have nothing planned.
I know that we will go for a walk in the forests, and that we will visit castles and their beautiful parks.
We will perhaps go to amusement parks also for the children to have fun.

Plenty of walks in the forest collecting leaves and acorns for making collages, and picking blackberries - if the squirrels and birds have left any! - for baking crumbles for pudding.

Lots of messy baking sessions, I've bought colourful edible glitter and cake decorations as well as new aprons.

Well my 3rd son is due on the 27/10 and we are due to move house in the next week or so, so half term is going to be crazy. Hopefully be able to fit in some Halloween themed crafts and baking with a bit of help from nanny!

Lego, crafts, cheap local events e.g local treasure hunts for a £1 or two. Meeting up with school friends. Probably a few lunches out to save me having to cook and clean

We've got play dates scheduled in Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On the other days the plan is one at a forestry commission place to do their trail and the other we are going to a wall climbing place.

We might manage the cinema one day as well.

We haven’t planned anything! I have the full week off and my husband has the Monday and Tuesday off. We’re going to see how the mood (and weather) takes us. We’ll probably do one museum, one swimming trip and one lunch out in between lots of football and long walks.

Well I'm on maternity pay and saving for Xmas so doing it on the cheap. We are doing a couple of different parks one which has a sandpit so we can make sandcastles too. Trip to a local national trust property to hide some rocks and have a nice walk. Craft day maybe to make Xmas gifts for teachers. Walk in the woods where we'll make mud pies. Hopefully a couple of days where we have a lie in and they play with friends and we'll have movies and ice cream. And we're hopefully going to have a bbq if the rain stays away.

We are taking the opportunity to introduce my nearly 4 year old to castles. With a National Trust membership its effectively free, and it's something that her and her friends have been asking to do. We made a crown to wear when going round the inside and they've been really good at listening and not touching the old artifacts /staying behind the rope. We have another week to go and a few more castles to get under our belt, along with the extensive grounds for them to run on after. We've made nature masks using paper plates and double sided tape, sticking down things we've found outside after. I'm sure they've being paying a lot more attention at nearly 4 than I did being dragged round them at 8 - just goes to show the difference when they ask for it.

It's our first half term ever.

I'm not sure 🤔 I'm always slightly worried it will be a nightmare with loads of people everywhere.

I quite fancy a trip to the Safari Park or maybe the new Lego centre by us. We are spoiled for choice really by us.

A mix of cosy days at home and days out. We’ll try and get out and about as much as we can - plenty of fresh air and the chance to see the beautiful autumn colours with the dog - no devices allowed. We also always bake the Christmas cake!!

We will be geocaching with a trip to a new bakery in the middle for much needed sustenance - will also take the dog so he gets a nice long walk at the same time.

Have also got some craft supplies on standby from Hobbycraft and there will at least one film afternoon with popcorn and lots of Lego building as always!
