NOW CLOSED

With a school half term in our midst, you may be thinking about the ways you can keep your children occupied and active. Arla BIG Milk would like to hear about the Big Adventures you have planned or have been on this October half term.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk has to say: “We know how important it is to get your little explorers out in the world around them, so we’ve partnered with Magic Light to bring you yearlong BIG Adventures. From Gruffalo nature trail walks to BIG Adventures craft videos, there’s lots for you and your little one to get involved in. We’re also running an on pack monthly prize draw, available across UK grocery retailers, to give you the chance to win an amazing trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Arla Big Milk is simply fresh whole milk that’s enriched with essential nutrients so if you want to join in on the adventure, come visit our site to explore activities for your half term.”

What days out do you have planned for the half term? Do you have a trip to a theme or adventure park pencilled in? Perhaps you have plans to explore the great outdoors with your children? If you’ve already been on adventures this half term, what did you get up to?

Whatever your half term plans, post them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I am going to do lots of little trips to places like our local park and library, buy some nice food and maybe do some baking. I thing fancy, no expensive days out to show off on Instagram just some much needed quiet time from our busy lives.
Then get home, put the heating on and watch some movies. Smile

Mine will be away most of half term, then lots of morning activity, winding down from 4.30, as I have a DS with ADHD.

We've booked a few days out at Museums and an activity at our local cinema. I'm hoping the weather will improve so we can have some days outside too.

We have a trip to see my sister and nephew planned where we will be doing Halloween crafts and eating some party food.

My eldest also wants to go to costa at one point because he loves going for a hot chocolate.

That’s all we have planned so far. My eldest has only just started reception so is looking forward to lots of down time as well.

We have 2 weeks off. Some holiday camps, some day trips into central London. Bike rides at national trust parks. And before I know it, they are back at school.

Between hospital visits and my wedding anniversary I plan on taking the kids to the zoo and hopefully teach the 5 year old how to fly a kite on the beach, and introduce the nearly 2 year to the beach.

We were going to Cyprus but, unfortunately, have had to cancel that and are going to spend some time at Whinfell Forest Center Parcs instead. When we get back, we'll be doing lots of Halloweeny things.

No plans as funding is low so we will take each day as it comes. On rainy days we will go puddle jumping, on sunny days we will go feed the ducks at the pond and go to a couple of parks and on windy days we will fly a kite that my kids made. We will also have a couple of days doing absolutely nothing. School is out so we don't need to maintain a schedule.

I haven't actually planned anything. There will be no pressure. We'll probably get some outdoor time every day, let each child take charge of cooking a main meal for the family at least once, watch some films, have a few lie-ins. Chill.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 17/10/2018 22:06

Swimming and library definitely and walking to both

There will be time outdoors but what we do will depend on the weather so if it's rainy we may splash around in puddles then go back for hot chocolate, if it's dry we may go to the park etc

We have a day at a local petting farm planned, a day out in town getting a birthday present for my mum and a nice lunch out, perhaps a wander around the docks(Liverpool).

A day staying indoors in our pj's doing jigsaw puzzles and lego etc, some baking another day and a day of walking in either the park or the woods. We'll pick up some interesting leaves and twigs etc and do something crafty with them probably. Ds is five and dp is in work all week so keeping it nice and simple and relaxed.

My 2 lil ones and I are swimming every morning at the local pool. It’s walking distance and cheap to get in. By the end of the holiday we aim to have perfected the duck-dive!
