NOW CLOSED

With a school half term in our midst, you may be thinking about the ways you can keep your children occupied and active. Arla BIG Milk would like to hear about the Big Adventures you have planned or have been on this October half term.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk has to say: “We know how important it is to get your little explorers out in the world around them, so we’ve partnered with Magic Light to bring you yearlong BIG Adventures. From Gruffalo nature trail walks to BIG Adventures craft videos, there’s lots for you and your little one to get involved in. We’re also running an on pack monthly prize draw, available across UK grocery retailers, to give you the chance to win an amazing trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Arla Big Milk is simply fresh whole milk that’s enriched with essential nutrients so if you want to join in on the adventure, come visit our site to explore activities for your half term.”

What days out do you have planned for the half term? Do you have a trip to a theme or adventure park pencilled in? Perhaps you have plans to explore the great outdoors with your children? If you’ve already been on adventures this half term, what did you get up to?

Whatever your half term plans, post them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I think I need to take him to the zoo, at parents evening last night we looked at his writing book and he'd written and drawn an elaborate picture of how he went to the zoo last weekend. (We hadn't!) Hmm

We’re going glamping! Wood burning stove in the yurt so we’ll stay toasty. Outdoor kitchen. Warm, indoor shower. I so hope the weather holds up.

I have taken the week off so we'll be at Paulton's Park for 2 days. Definitely visit the library to change some books and swimming at the local leisure centre.
For once, we'll all be together as a family for the whole week. The Dcs are quite excited for half term.

We will pretty much live at the park or at the farm. Dd loves being outside so I am hoping for some crisp autumn days.

We plan on pumpkin carving and having lots of walks outside to collect conkers, leaves and pinecones. The girls love baking so we will be making pumpkin pie and butternut squash soup too. Then we have our new doggy coming so we are in full prep for her arrival which is very exciting!

Some Daddy days whilst I am at work (cupcake decorating booked) and a few days en famile in Devon. It should be fun! Walking and just generally being out and about if the weather is half decent.

I think ours are all looking quite tired, so half term will involve a fair amount of just playing at home. But we will go on some scoots to the beach or the playground, or go to the swimming pool and a trampoline park if it is wet. No where too far afield this half term, they are all recovering from the shock of starting school/ a new school!

We will be doing Autumn walks and visits to friends. My son wants to learn how to make pasta and cook for himself so we’ll be doing that too.

DD is spending 2 nights with her best friend which is great for her and I am taking her to a Science workshop (slime) as well when we buy school boots. We are also going away for a couple of nights on a cheap caravan break at the weekend, so a busy half term for us for a change!

Circus, playdates, playground trips, friends to stay a few days, holiday club for 3 mornings, grandparent quality time, plus a bit of lounging in PJs watching movies. Hopefully it will be a nice half term!

Lots of local things. We live close to a library, a park a recently restored canal and some very good cheap charity shops! My husband has the car so I like to do things that are nearby and cheap. I have enrolled my eldest son in one day of forest school as well.

It all depends on the weather but hoping to explore some outdoor spaces, local woodlands and go on a treetop walk.

Wet weather activities include making Halloween cakes/biscuits and possibly a trip to the local soft play centre.

This is my first half term with school aged child. Its really sprung up on me and I'm so disorganised. Trying to organise play dates but everyone I know is off on holiday. Think it'll be a couple of days at my parents in the country where we can take advantage of not having to rush home for 3pm! I know the local garden centre and museum have drop in events on the go too.

Because my four are all at home anyways, half term is like any other time really! We will do lots of cooking, lots of wintery walks to the woods, we are really lucky to have a Gruffalo trail right near us so, no doubt we'll do that.
Our favourite is cooking though. While my eldest and husband are out at work, me and my younger ones all get cooking, we stick the music on loud, they try to teach me how to floss, and I try to teach them how to make a good dinner! lol

We're celebrating my entrance into my 40's in a cottage with the kids and dog. Some nice walks, pumpkin carving and trying to avoid the dog rolling in something smelly! Oh and Halloween treats and a DVD for the kids on 31st.
