NOW CLOSED

Being chief decision-maker comes with the territory when you’re a parent - but sometimes the best way to go is not so clear cut. Take our quiz to find out how your decisions following common parenting conundrums align with those of other users’.

Here’s what O2 have to say: “#IsItAlright to let them use a tablet at breakfast? We hear you. Parenting is full of #IsItAlright questions, challenges and dilemmas. That’s why we’ve launched O2 Family, to bring advice, safety tools and kid-friendly offers to parents across the UK. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. But hopefully we make it a little easier to navigate the everyday messy magic of family life."

Whether you turn to the TV when things get tough, choose to embrace your child’s creativity no matter how questionable it may be or you find bargaining with your children the best way to get things done, take the quiz here and share any results that surprise you (or your own parenting conundrums) below.

All who post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Largely came up with the rest of the MNs!

feedmecoffee · 13/09/2018 19:14

Done, surprised by some of the answers.. 😳

CanYouHearThat · 13/09/2018 19:35

Not in the majority for most of them, but then i kind of knew that...

Ca55andraMortmain · 13/09/2018 19:59

Some surprising results although I think a lot of people have answered according to what they'd like to do in each situation rather than what they actually would do!

ChocolateKeepsMeGoing · 13/09/2018 20:21

All done, mostly average 😊

Taffeta · 13/09/2018 20:25

Done - majority answers didn’t surprise me Grin

defineme · 13/09/2018 21:05

Strict on clothes and lax on bedtimes

whenyoufeelsotired · 13/09/2018 22:25

Most of my answers were in the top 2 but a few I could have picked more than 1.

Eminybob · 14/09/2018 01:23

I was fairly typical in my answers, usually picking the second from highest answer, but I noticed that the highest scoring answers were the “model” response, which makes me wonder if everybody was being 100% truthful....Grin

LampShadeHeid · 14/09/2018 05:40

Not quite at the parenting stage for these questions, DD is only 7 weeks old, but it’s good to know my hypothetical answers mostly side with the majority of mumsnetters.

Ka2017 · 14/09/2018 07:05

My answers seem to be part of the majority!

cathisherwood · 14/09/2018 09:03

answering as a grandmother - still the same responses as the majority

MrsBlondie · 14/09/2018 12:56

Good quiz.

I'm hardcore. Which I knew. Don't really fit with the mn majority view.

steppemum · 14/09/2018 13:04

well, I'm pretty typical.

Of course given that there are only 4 choices, it doesn't actually represent any of us - we are all more nuanced than that

KingBobra · 14/09/2018 16:50

Didn't strike me as conundrums as such, or maybe it's because it was aimed at the younger end of childhood? As the kids get older I find there are more grey areas.

WowOoo · 14/09/2018 17:46

I'm pretty average it seems.
I have actually had the situation of na event and my child wanting to wear a costume. I let him, but took his best clothes to change into and persuaded him to change once we'd got there. Compromises!

NerrSnerr · 14/09/2018 19:02

I'm a typical mumsnetter!

magentastardust · 14/09/2018 19:36

I think I am average going by that, although I would insist my children changed into a nice outfit for a special occasion! ha

Frogscotch7 · 14/09/2018 19:50

Lazy parent. How come I’m always knackered then?

columbine75 · 14/09/2018 20:47

My youngest likes to stick her heals in, often at the expense of the eldest! I often end up telling them both off as they spark off one another, it’s so difficult sometimes.

Theimpossiblegirl · 14/09/2018 21:24

I'm pretty easy going really, I pick my battles carefully.

Fretfulparent · 14/09/2018 21:53

tv on day 1of the holidays here too - all the activities are booked for later on!

winewolfhowls · 14/09/2018 21:58

The thing is that really, I could be any of the answers depending on my mood, time constraints or money!

DioneTheDiabolist · 14/09/2018 22:08

I'm a Phoebe.Grin
