This activity is now closed

After years of probably having to watch all sorts of wonderful and occasional strange children’s TV shows, it’s hard to not ending up having favourites...whether you love them in secret or not.]] would like to know which children’s shows you are more than happy to watch with your DC and why they’ve become your favourite.

Here’s what ]] have to say: “Now it’s the summer holidays, more and more families are streaming children’s shows such as Shaun The Sheep, My Little Pony, The Penguins of Madagascar and Just Add Magic. It’s great when you find a show that you can enjoy that works for both child and parent, and we would love to know what these shows are for you and your family.”

Has Dora the Explorer been an all-time favourite of yours for years because you end up learning things too? Perhaps you love trying to figure out who the baddy is in Scooby-Doo along with your DC? Maybe seeing Tom & Jerry on the screen always brings back some great nostalgic memories of when you were a child? Or do you love Postman Pat purely for the great theme tune?

Whatever your favourite children’s programme is, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

Horrible histories, the next step, Hetty feather, so awkward, teen titans. All family viewing in our house, she & I have been known to catch up in the evening if the girls have watched without us.

Ben and Holly which isn't too bad, my son has an obsession with Ruby and Max at the moment. Not too bad a program but the music/opening credits is a real earworm!!

Do You Know? It's genuinely interesting information, presented accessibly, but without that awful, patronising kiddie presenter stage school manner. We all love it in this house. It's interesting because it seems such a great hybrid of public service broadcasting ideals, and more fun and creative presentation. She's the toddler's Brian Cox! It's not created in an office and then presented by an actor pretending to be a scientist or a cook or an artist or whatever, but by her, and as with Brian Cox, it shows IMO.

We've taken the kids to see Maddie Moate's live shows several times now, and she is also genuinely lovely with all the little attenders. Really warm and patient and relaxed, and planned one show that was pretty small group and very interactive (bees). I wouldn't want to do that with 15 or so toddlers, personally. She happily helped them all in and out of a mini beekeeping suit; no apparent qualms!

Mr Blooms Nursery, Get Well Soon, I Can Cook, Mr Bean, Horrid Henry... so glad my sisters had another baby so I’ve got an excuse to keep watching them for another ten years 😅

I really enjoyed watchung Avatar - The Last Airbender through Prime with my DC. The episodes were short enough to watch 1 or 2 every evening.

WowOoo · 19/08/2018 10:10

Loads - I love Adventure Time, Horrible Histories. Used to like Peppa Pig when they were younger.

sunshinemum83 · 19/08/2018 10:18

I always liked Shaun the Sheep, Ben and Holly and Sarah and Duck.

Now I use the children as an excuse to watch The Simpsons.

Sureitwillbegrand · 19/08/2018 16:16

We discovered just add magic last year and my girls fell in love with it. One watches it over and over again. It so easy to watch and our thing we do together.

StorminaBcup · 19/08/2018 17:00

5000KallaxHoles · 19/08/2018 17:50

I have come downstairs after doing bedtime to find my husband has actively downloaded episodes of the Go Jetters to watch on his own, without any children around to use an excuse for doing so.

FogCutter · 19/08/2018 19:32

Ben & Holly. Secretly hoping more are made so I can watch some new episodes.

walkalongsmiling · 19/08/2018 20:53

Waffle the wonder dog is fabulous and without a doubt has the best theme tune!

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 19/08/2018 21:07

Class Dismissed is one of my favourites. Especially love the rubbish French teacher whose only knowledge is "Je voidrais in sandwich an jambon et au fromage"
Hubby has to deal with lots of French people at work and we keep trying to get him to use it at work. Hasn't managed it yet (apparently it's not useful for software engineering discussions!)

carz1985 · 19/08/2018 21:07

Anything on dinsey junior. So doc mcstuffins was a favourite as we got to learn body parts and stuff. We and kids also liked sofia the first, mickey mouse club house, Jack and the Netherland pirate yo ho let's go 😂
Me and my best would always be sat still watching when my kids had gone to my mums for tea or singing the songs in work.

carz1985 · 19/08/2018 21:08

Jake even not jack lol

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 19/08/2018 21:39

I live fireman Sam. I have been known to have a bit of a tear up watching it too. I don’t know why it gets to me but whenever Elvis does well, I get a lump in my throat.
