This activity is now closed

The summer holidays are filled with busy days spent navigating heaving soft play centres, staging obstacle courses around the garden, finding new reasons for why, no, your child can not have another ice cream - and generally throwing your all in to avoiding the dreaded moans of ‘I’m bored’. But when the kids are worn out and have (finally) been shipped off to bed, it’s time for parents to relax. With a range of new films, on demand and ready whenever you are, Sky Cinema is there to help you recharge this summer, and to celebrate we would love to know your tips for a perfect cosy night in.

Do you like to finally make the time to catch up on those new releases that you missed in the cinema, like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Justice League? Or maybe the perfect evening is spent with a glass of wine in hand, preparing a delicious slap up meal for two? Perhaps you use the few hours of peace to relax with a serious at-home pamper session - cucumber eye mask and all.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “Sky Cinema, the dedicated home for movie lovers. Enjoy unlimited movies on demand, from the biggest blockbusters to much loved family favourites. With something for everyone this summer, Sky Cinema is ready whenever you are.”

However you spend your perfect night in, post it on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

We love watching new films together as a family. Its lovely to be able to sit and enjoy each others company without actually doing anything!

All of us around the sofa, curtains drawn so its a little darker inside.
Popcorn, sweets, ice lollies if its warm and a take away!
The last movie we all watched together the kids were talking about it for days after as they enjoyed it so much!

No doubt there will be lots movie days during the holidays!

Bottle of wine for the missus, Pepsi for me, bag of doritos and watching rupauls drag race :)

asuwere · 10/07/2018 18:50

Either, snuggled on sofa with DC and lots of homemade popcorn. OR on my own, with no distractions :)

wonderstuff16 · 10/07/2018 19:21

A hot bubble bath and some chocolate

badgermum · 10/07/2018 19:24

a great film, snacks and a bottle of wine, light a couple of candles throw a blanket on the settee and voilà, a perfect cosy night in

IWouldBeSuperb · 10/07/2018 19:49

Pizza, home made cocktails and a great new series to binge on - heaven! Grin

anitagreen · 10/07/2018 19:50

For me a cosy night in is a hot bubble bath, fresh NEW pjs, there's not a feeling to describe the feel of new pjs is there?.
Then once that's done order In a takeaway, cosy blankets out a Bottle of wine and finding a film to watch or a series with lots of episodes to run through.
Also snacks are important chocolates, tex mex dips and breadsticks. I find it very comforting and enjoyable with a dim light on too.

Muffinbutton · 10/07/2018 20:26

Jammies, cosy blanket, roaring fire, dog snuggled up, glass of wine and a good film.

peanutbutter310 · 10/07/2018 20:50

A nice glass of red and some snacks. Usually in front of a box set, but recently in the garden.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 10/07/2018 21:06

Toddler in bed
Bra off
Random bits tapas style tea
Glass of wine
Shift DH off ‘my’ sofa
Cat on lap and a good series on the tv.

Even better if there is some chocolate in the cupboard somewhere.

RhubarbAndCustards · 10/07/2018 21:07

We take it in turns every weekend to choose a film...old, new classic whatever (apart from horror - I’m a wimp!) We settle down after a great meal or takeaway and watch it together. We’ve found some fab films that we wouldn't have normally watched.

Crumblevision · 10/07/2018 21:32

At Chez Crumble we get into fresh pyjamas (bra and make up off for me); and hair up; we then get cosy on the sofa with favourite snacks, soft drinks and then cheesecake. After approx 30 mins (I timed that well) DC is shipped off to bed and then it is gin and the crime channel on TV.

Marg2k8 · 10/07/2018 21:37

A nice meal and a bottle of wine.

Whyisitsodifficult · 10/07/2018 21:57

Shower and pj's on. Glass of wine some Kettle crisps and a foot rub, perfect for me! I look at random tat on my iPad whilst husband has remote control.

SalutHallo · 10/07/2018 22:07

Wine, food, a movie and perfectly sleeping children!

helly27 · 10/07/2018 22:13

My ideal cosy night in would be a good comedy film with a takeaway and a large glass of wine with the hubby

freefan · 10/07/2018 23:29

The perfect night in, is doors locked, curtains drawn and some good either Disney or comedy DVDs with snacks and juice and my family around me...
In the summer this changes to doors open, BBQ lit and music on for lots of fun and giggles in the garden again with my family.

tubbyj · 10/07/2018 23:35

No children, glass of wine good movie

QueenOfPharts · 10/07/2018 23:36

We try to pack the kids off to bed early....assuming thats successfull DH will cook something lovely or go out and forage (take away or party food from the supermarket)
If we are eating we cant watch anythi ng with subtitles. At the moment we are enjoying stuff that doesnt require much thought peep show gavin snd stacey etc but really enjoy catching up with films we live in the middle of nowhere miles from the cinema so its a must!

torthecatlady · 11/07/2018 00:49

Our perfect night in involves a Chinese takeaway with the radio (classic fm) on quietly in the background.
After dinner, we turn the lights down low and light some candles and incense. Then we gather on the sofa with lots of fluffy blankets and warm fluffy socks to watch a film together, usually with any left over prawn crackers!

Imgettingcheesefries · 11/07/2018 08:11

A nice takeaway and a good boxset for us

Treaclespongeandcustard · 11/07/2018 09:01

Pyjamas on, glass of wine, popcorn and snuggle up to watch a film. Bliss ... as long as the baby doesn't wake up!!

tracymartel · 11/07/2018 09:21

Blankets on the floor, cushions, smoothies and snuggles!

jazzitup · 11/07/2018 10:08

A good film with the family, a glaas or 2 of wine and of course a rather large box of choccies Mmmm

NerrSnerr · 11/07/2018 10:12

For me it would be ordering a pizza, having a beer and watching a cheesy horror film.
