Doing the laundry can be a messy task - whether that’s getting rid of your children’s unexplained stains or dealing with the piles and piles of clean clothes when you’re done. Who would blame you for dreaming about the kind of space that could make it all seem a bit more manageable. With that in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about what would be in your dream laundry room.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Did you know that the average mother spends 5 months of her life doing laundry? That’s a lot of pulling tissues out of pockets, separating loads and pairing socks! Imagine that you had your own separate laundry room. What would you want to make your life easier and nicer to spend time in?”

Would you have a separate washer and dryer? Or shelves for each family member’s clothes? Perhaps you’d have a fold down ironing board? Maybe you’d have everything - from appliances to airers - hidden away in cupboards?

Whatever would be in your dream laundry room, share it below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Washing machine, drier, Belfast sink, lots of storage cupboards, room for ironing board and airer. When I win the lottery maybe!

dul4hw · 13/03/2018 21:24

somewhere for keeping fresh laundry before it gets ironed (it's currently on the kitchen floor in a basket) and a place for an airer. It feels like half my time is spent negotiating my way around drying clothes.

Marg2k8 · 13/03/2018 21:24

It would be dream to have a laundry room, so I did'nt have to hear the washing machine when I am cooking.

lhlee62 · 13/03/2018 21:28

A housekeeper to do it all

juju3 · 13/03/2018 21:42

plenty of space for different laudry bins so the family can sort the washing upfront -will save me loads of work

EmNix · 13/03/2018 21:47

A washer, dryer, ironing board and iron. And most importantly someone to do it all!

eyesonme · 13/03/2018 21:47

Easy wipeable surfaces.
With lots of natural light, and a large window to air dry clothes quicker.
A washer and dryer at head height, so I didn't have to bend down constantly.
Lots of box shelving so I could put the folded piles of clothes or towels into little compartments so it didn't look messy constantly.
High cupboards to keep laundry detergent away from the kids.

A counter where someone takes my ticket and then gives me my clothes all washed and pressed

ninamotylinski · 13/03/2018 21:50

A huge drummed machine that I could fit duvets etc in, an equally large dryer. A roberts radio in a candy colour on a shelf to listen to while I iron and a selection of beautiful ironing waters , so the room smells divine. Can but dream...

IonaAilidh11 · 13/03/2018 21:56

i would love a seperate space to store all the washing and ironing away from the kitchen

hmariez · 13/03/2018 21:57

A device which washes, drys, irons and folds to perfection

Cailin7 · 13/03/2018 22:04

A designated laundry room would be nice. Ventillated with direct access to the garden driyng area, with a belfast sink, cupboards and storage, a separate washer and a dryer. room for two clothes horses and maybe a pulley dryer.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 13/03/2018 22:09

I'd love more storage and space for a pulley. I covet a pulley- it just doesn't work in my house.

If I was being really fancy- a big belfast sink- ostensibly for handwashing but really just for looking naice and letting people think I actually handwash things.

tiddles12 · 13/03/2018 22:21

a washing machine, a tumble dryer, a large space for ironing with storage for an ironing board and iron, a clothes airer, and lots of storage.Laundry baskets for whites, dark coloureds and light coloureds

tanyavt · 13/03/2018 22:23

A laundry fairy that my family already believe exists!!

buckley1983 · 13/03/2018 22:33

! I actually don't mind laundry - it's just the current lack of space which drives me crackers! My own little room to do the laundry would be bliss!
I'd have a lovely light, airy space with a big window I could gaze out of while doing the ironing.
I'd love space for an airer - for when it's too wet to dry washing outside & maybe one of those old fashioned wooden crates on a pulley to hang the duvets over to dry!
I'd have a little radio in there too so I could listen to The Archers while pairing socks.. I don't ask for much! :)

dadshere · 13/03/2018 22:56

I would love to have a giant washer dryer and a maid to use it!

starlingsintheslipstream · 13/03/2018 23:16

A laundry room would be a great space to have. My dream laundry room would be bright and airy with lots of hanging space and plenty of room for drying things indoors. I'd want a decent tumble drier, a large washing machine and somewhere to do the ironing. I'd also need a TV and a radio for those ironing stints.

Jesswoods1992 · 13/03/2018 23:20

Three baskets one for clean one for dirty and one for what needs ironing it would include a smart washing machine with a high spec tumble dryer I would have a large drum on both also to make it that little bit more perfect cupboard full of my favourite gel wash comfort tumble dryer fragrance sheets and my handy tub of vanish

KittyKat88 · 13/03/2018 23:30

I've never had a 'laundry' room but it if I could have my dream room it would involve a combi washer/dryer and a large cupboard for storing the ironing board, iron, and washing baskets. Anything to cut back on clutter and keep things neat and tidy and out of sight!

inashizzle · 14/03/2018 00:20

Mine would be beautifully decorated with latest wall mounted tv; It has a little area for making luxury drinks, be it hot chocs , speciality teas or indeed pink gins.

It has the most efficient, quiet washer and dryer with shelving for the aray of best products; A hideaway ironing board and pretty laundry basket with matching sundries boxes so that each family member can simply pop their clothing into their own rooms, willingly and gaily ( as I have to nag else they don't move). Everything is in apple pie order all of the time.

It's so pretty, chilled in there that laundry is a treat and not mind blowingly dull. As it is at present.

createbeauty · 14/03/2018 07:42

My dream laundry room would have hook-ups for large top-loading washing machine and a large separate dryer capable of drying a load of laundry in 30 minutes. A shelf would be above them to hold the laundry detergent, etc, and a small bin in the corner for lint and other fluff. Also a laundry basket for dirty clothes and a small table for sitting and folding laundry. Lovely.

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 14/03/2018 09:21

I have a laundry room, which I love, its got storage and everything is out there BUT it doesn't have a tumble drier, that would make the room 100 times better! Especially with a very messy one year old!

penguinsandpandas · 14/03/2018 09:33

A laundry robot though at least in our house my husband and kids do some too so its not just mothers.

zimcol · 14/03/2018 12:20

Something (or someone!) to sort it all out and put it away - washing and drying is the easy bit!!
