Doing the laundry can be a messy task - whether that’s getting rid of your children’s unexplained stains or dealing with the piles and piles of clean clothes when you’re done. Who would blame you for dreaming about the kind of space that could make it all seem a bit more manageable. With that in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about what would be in your dream laundry room.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Did you know that the average mother spends 5 months of her life doing laundry? That’s a lot of pulling tissues out of pockets, separating loads and pairing socks! Imagine that you had your own separate laundry room. What would you want to make your life easier and nicer to spend time in?”

Would you have a separate washer and dryer? Or shelves for each family member’s clothes? Perhaps you’d have a fold down ironing board? Maybe you’d have everything - from appliances to airers - hidden away in cupboards?

Whatever would be in your dream laundry room, share it below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

An automated laundry system taking clothes from the basket and returning them clean, dry and unwrinkly to their hangers and drawers.

glennamy · 13/03/2018 15:14

All the latest technology and a housekeeper to take care of it all! :)

emmmaaa26 · 13/03/2018 15:20

A couple of washing machines and dryers, a good ironing board, lots of cupboard space, a place to put extra shoes and coats away and lastly a shower for the dogs.

MSHGW · 13/03/2018 15:23

A washing machine, a dryer. A counter top above them for sorting stuff. Some cupboards above that for storing detergents, etc. A space for an ironing board and iron. A sink, and a drying rack for things that need hand washing/ drip drying.

ThemisA · 13/03/2018 15:32

A state of the art eco washer, a clothes dryer hanigng from the ceiling, cupboards galore, a cosy easy chair and tea making facilities so I could hide away, oh and a sink

laurac1987 · 13/03/2018 15:32

An ironing board that either folded against the wall or so that there was enough room to permanently keep it up! Finding it in our house, trying to locate a space with a plug nearby and putting it up takes longer than it does to iron my blouse. I'd also love enough space for a clothing horse for winter.

My own personal cleaner preferably paid for by someone else

elizaco · 13/03/2018 15:47

I large, light room with a separate large washing machine and dryer. Lots of drying space; and maybe an open air area for drying outside. Ironing board (and preferably someone on hand to do the ironing!) and lots of shelving for ironed clothes. A huge TV and a shelf for snacks and drinks!

lalalauren416 · 13/03/2018 15:48

Just a washer and a dryer would be great, preferably one that didn't cost anything to run

nomodcons · 13/03/2018 15:51

This fancy Japanese washing machine I saw on YouTube that weighs your load and calculates how much detergent you need to add.

A cordless iron. Do they exist? I've had the same one for nearly 20 years.

The room itself would be a big sunroom where the clothes could hang up to air dry. Though in this country it would also have to have a heater and a dehumidifier built in.

Probably would be nice to have a TV too.

merlymerly · 13/03/2018 15:53

Lots of space, two large washing machines, a fast efficient tumble dryer a someone else doing the ironing!

MazzB1 · 13/03/2018 16:05

Amongst other things it would have lots of cupboards and hanging space. Washing machine and separate tumble dryer. A sink for soaking muddy football kits in and a fold out ironing board.

helly27 · 13/03/2018 16:14

A washing machine and a tumble dryer with an airer and enough space to dry and iron clothes with wicker laundry baskets

compy99 · 13/03/2018 16:25

I would like a housekeeper in my ideal laundry room to change the beds daily and all the laundry and ironing

boobybirdsworth · 13/03/2018 16:38

Washer and drier, ironing board. Cupboards for washing detergent and iron and a radio to listen to while I'm using it all :)

daniel1996 · 13/03/2018 16:42

I would love an industrial size tumble dyer which comes with a sock sorting option, and a washing machine which gives you back the amount of socks you put in.

A flat screen television on the wall for when I am folding and ironing, and a plug in airier for overnight drying of towels and sheets.

jomarise · 13/03/2018 16:42

It would be a room that I never saw because I wouldn't have to do the laundry

TheWizardofWas · 13/03/2018 16:53

A massive room with a sofa, somewhere to curl up while the fantastically quiet machine went round and round, it would be a hideaway often quite warm in a laundry. Kettle too. And a fabulous spinning washing device that dried very quickly in a jet of air simulating a tropical jetstream.

addverbaan · 13/03/2018 17:05

my dream laundry room would be one which was staffed lol

Minnibix · 13/03/2018 17:21

I have always longed for a utility room where I could keep the washer, dryer, ironing board, laundry baskets and all the necessary cleaning stuff. So my dream would be a Utility room instead of having every thing in our small kitchen

socat · 13/03/2018 17:23

A laundry Assistant !!! (inc. pressing)

Ranita · 13/03/2018 17:35

A dryer , I would love to have space for a dryer

MockneyReject · 13/03/2018 18:19

Oh, I know exactly what my laundry would be like - I fantasise about it often enough!

It would be traditional/industrial. Huge launderette style washer and dryer. Steam/dry clean area, Corby trouser press, iron with attstchments for collars, cuffs and so on.

Best of all, a twin tub, tongs, spinner and a huge sink with washboard and draining board. A copper posser and a mangle. Indoor and outdoor lines, dolly pegs and clothes horses.

A selection of soaps for every fabric - bar soaps, wool wash, powders, liquids and gels. Bio, non-bio, hand wash. White vinegar, soda crystals, nappisan and the whole range of stain devils. Starch, blue, bentonite, ash and lye.

There would need to be a radio, WIFI and teasmade. As I would spend all my time there!

I bloody love laundry!

seafoodeatit · 13/03/2018 18:21

A double decker washing machine and one of those old school laundry shoots/lifts from upstairs so I'm not lugging it up and down the stairs all the time. Space to have an ironing station with a TV.

user1496053440 · 13/03/2018 18:25

Just a separate room for laundry would be an absolute dream!
