Doing the laundry can be a messy task - whether that’s getting rid of your children’s unexplained stains or dealing with the piles and piles of clean clothes when you’re done. Who would blame you for dreaming about the kind of space that could make it all seem a bit more manageable. With that in mind, Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about what would be in your dream laundry room.

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio has to say: “Did you know that the average mother spends 5 months of her life doing laundry? That’s a lot of pulling tissues out of pockets, separating loads and pairing socks! Imagine that you had your own separate laundry room. What would you want to make your life easier and nicer to spend time in?”

Would you have a separate washer and dryer? Or shelves for each family member’s clothes? Perhaps you’d have a fold down ironing board? Maybe you’d have everything - from appliances to airers - hidden away in cupboards?

Whatever would be in your dream laundry room, share it below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Really just enough room and money to be able to run a tumble dryer , family of five and no dryer is fun in winter! Failing that I would love a laundrette size machine and dryer o do the whole week in one go lol

tishist · 02/04/2018 15:40

Chutes from upstairs down to the laundry would be amazing. A place to store everything, methodically. All very organised and practical, with plenty of storage solutions and a sink for handwashing.

donnamitchell · 02/04/2018 16:49

I’d love a laundry room with a sink and space for a washing machine, tumble dryer and space for coats and boots

greensmith68 · 02/04/2018 17:38

my ideal laundry room would have a large washer and a dryer like you get in Laundrette plenty of work top and cupboards

Everything need to do the laundry from start to finish. From wash to dry to air to iron.

worriedmum46 · 02/04/2018 18:50

I'd love a laundry room!! Washer and dryer. Place to hang up clothes that can't be tumbled and a cupboard to hide away iron, ironing board and all the washing powders!

spanglisher · 02/04/2018 19:09

separate washer and dryer, space to hang clothes to air, ironing station and steamer, shelving space for ironed items and no overspill clutter from the rest of the house

FrenchieMum2Be · 02/04/2018 20:08

Well I'd love an actual separate room for laundry as it currently spreads between the kitchen and the bedroom at the moment. Apart from the washing machine, I would love a tumble drier.

maria08k · 02/04/2018 20:21

An actual laundry room would be a start!! I would love space for two washing machines and a tumble dryer....plus somewhere where i can iron and blast out the radio without anyone disturbing me!

JoGodfray · 02/04/2018 21:58

Somewhere secret!! A little room with a super silent washing machine and dryer with a built in wine cooling fridge!!! A perfect hideaway from the children!!

JaimeLannister · 02/04/2018 22:12

Everything tucked away in matching cupboards.
Baskets for clean/dirty clothes
Lots of space for bulk buying detergents when they are on offer.
A separate washing machine for the dogs beds/blankets/towels.

diddiebiddie · 02/04/2018 22:24

A light & airy room with washer, dryer, a cupboard to store washing baskets, ironing board etc & a worktop and shelves to store washing powder & enough room to hang washing when raining.

cathyov · 02/04/2018 22:34

A laundry room could be my escape to heaven! I love the smell of fresh laundry and even like ironing as long as I can watch tv! So perhaps I need a cinema style room with extra loud volume (so I do not hear the children shouting as obviously my washing machine and tumble dryer would be super quiet so no trouble at all!) and a lovely coffee machine in situ so I can keep well hydrated and even a little sofa bed in there too - to rest between the wash loads - well you did say my DREAM laundry room!

12LuDo · 02/04/2018 23:39

Someone else doing the ironing!

PussCatTheGoldfish · 03/04/2018 00:00

I'd love a laundry room that's not in the garage.

A washing machine, dryer, access to outside to line dry, well lit, uncluttered with lots of sorting baskets. Not a huge fan of ironing, but if everything was in one space, with a fold down board that would be fab.

pinkspideruk · 03/04/2018 00:10

A large washing machine for washing bulky items (hello vomit covered quilts!) and a separate smaller one for quick washes - both would be the best rating in energy efficiency and water usage. Same applies to tumble dryer 1 for large loads and 1 for smaller loads. 3 large laundry baskets for coloured, lights and mixed (and a house elf to sort the laundry into them cos noone else here does!) one of those automatic iron things that fold down you put the clothes in and it steams them for you - no muss no fuss

oh and a large sofa and tv so i can hide down there whilst the laundry is on and watch my shows without interruption!

CointreauVersial · 03/04/2018 00:14

I do have a laundry room (well, utility room) and it's pretty good, but in my dreams it would be a lot bigger, and I'd have much more room for everything. I would love one of those Sheila Maid racks on a pulley that hangs from the ceiling.

Olliver27 · 04/04/2018 02:51

Two washing machines, two tumble dryers and a spare freezer!

PorridgeAgainAbney · 04/04/2018 21:35

I'd love one of those huuuuge machines that can get a king size duvet and two pillows in. Then I'd only have to do one dark wash, one white wash and one for bedding every week Wink.

Oh, and if someone could invent an ironing board combined with an exercise bike or treadmill that powered a tv showing repeats of Neighbours circa 1986 then I'd probably even consider starting ironing for the first time in my life.

hannahphoenix · 07/04/2018 09:30

I would love a tumble dryer in mine! Lots of storage too and separate washing baskets

k8vincent · 08/04/2018 20:47

Someone to do the laundry? Failing that, washing machine, tumble drier, ceiling airing rack. A cupboard for all the detergent nonsense. Definitely not loads of dirty shoes and boots, cat stuff and all the other rubbish that surrounds the washing machine.

MrsFig · 08/04/2018 21:43

I'd have a separate washing machine and tumble dryer, plus room to store the ironing board and baskets to separate out dirty washing in to lights, darks and delicates. Oh and a cupboard to keep all the washing detergents, iron etc all tidied away.

tabbaz123 · 16/04/2018 07:12

Oh my dream laundry room would be attached to the side of the house and come with a laundry lady (or man) to take care of all my laundry needs ha ha - BUT in reality it would be a separate room, with heated clothes driers and sound proofing so the noise of the machines are quietened. I would set them up to come on in the middle of the night and then literally hang and dry things in the morning

tiameg · 16/04/2018 07:18

A washer, dryer, steam press and loads of hanging space. A sink, and tea making station.
