I make an egg/dairy free simple cake using a tyrol cake recipe from one of my mum's old books. this seems pretty similar.
I use soya milk and add a layer of marzipan in the middle then decorate with marzipan balls.

We have hit cross buns in bread and butter pudding as well, 'it's a tradition ....

mycelialnetwork · 24/02/2018 18:00

For an alternative chocolatey treat last year I made beetroot chocolate brownies. Dds loved helping to make them and eating them too Smile I will definitely be making them again this year.

I have some HUGE easter themed biscuit cutters and every year make shortbread biscuits which I then dip in leftover easter chocolate. Yum.

I love a cheesecake, decorated with chocolate Easter eggs. Here's last year's; it was delicious.

Hot cross bun pudding made with oatly vanilla custard, piping hot from out the oven I make.

OH makes roast lamb with a herb crust while this year I'm going to make a nut roast with butternut squash and sweet potato.

sharond101 · 24/02/2018 20:18

Cream egg cheesecake.

Longdistance · 24/02/2018 20:51

We dye eggs, then we but those stickers on, and smother the eggs in lard. We pop them in a basket. It’s very Eastern European 😳
We do make crispy cakes with eggs. Dds love them.

purplepandas · 24/02/2018 21:24

Mini egg muffins here. Look great. Also Easter bunny and chick biscuits.

When I think about Easter I think about coming spring. Spring is my favourite time of the year 😁 so I always get very exited. I get myself lost in a kitchen cooking and baking away. Easter in my house always means eggs, lots of eggs in any varieties, shapes and sizes 😜 But to be honest the things I always look forward the most to show it off are the cakes. There is always a chocolate one, and lemon one with raspberries and frosting and whatever catches my eye in my online recepies serche for inspiration. I always cook with my kids so they dont always come out looking perfect but they always perfect in out harts and taste just divine 🤗

Melted (Easter Egg) chocolate over hot cross buns!

Delicious (not nutritious!!!)

Anilahussain · 24/02/2018 22:59

My children like to bake.. so we either make buns or Rice Krispies buns (mixed with melted choc) and add some mini choc eggs on top or a fluffy chic (plastic ones-12 for a £1) it gives it a theme of Easter time!

maryandbuzz1 · 24/02/2018 23:13

My family love this recipe for chocolate mug cake. It’s really simple and quick to make.
5tbsp self-raising flour
5tbs caster sugar
1tsp coco
2tbs milk
1 egg
2tbs sunflower oil
8 Mini Eggs
Put all the dry ingredients in and mix together until you have an even-coloured powder. Add the egg, oil, milk and vanilla and stir well until combined and smooth.
Drop in a few Mini Eggs and pop in the microwave for 3 minutes. Decorate with a few mini eggs on top.

For a light main course, I do a Springtime pasta salad with pesto, chicken, asparagus, broccoli and green beans.

Jaderice21 · 25/02/2018 09:16

cornflake cakes but use chredded wheat instead milk chocolate and mini eggs :D classic but yummy sometimes were fancy and put them pretend chicks on

jacqui5366 · 25/02/2018 09:53

I tried this last year with some hot cross buns which were left over, and made a bread and butter pudding with the hot crossed buns in place of the bread, I made my own custard with egg yolks and could then reduce the amount of sugar I added, I made half the amount of custard and when cooling added a tub of fromage frais and then poured over the buttered hot cross buns - was delicious x my children are always asking when then can have 'easter pudding' again,

EveryDayIsLikeMonday · 25/02/2018 11:47

I make tiffin and top it with any left over bits of Easter eggs and chocolate.

sheitani · 25/02/2018 14:13

I know that strictly this is a Passover recipe rather than Easter, but it falls at the same time of year. Jewish bakeries will have challah bread which makes the best French toast ever.

Pinklady1981 · 25/02/2018 18:31

Pistachio and lemon Easter cake 🍰. It's a sponge cake with pistachio marzipan and lemon cream in the middle...totally delicious 😋. I make it every Easter 🐣

KariOn · 26/02/2018 01:53

We always have a leisurely breakfast before a long walk on Easter Sunday. Favourite is soft-boiled eggs with asparagus tips to dip. I buy heritage legbar eggs which come in a vsriety of soft pastel colored shells. So pretty!

BlueTablecloth · 26/02/2018 11:16

I make Hot Pagan Buns, basically hot cross buns but I never bother to pit crosses on
