Valentines Day and Mother’s Day are on the horizon and whether you celebrate them or not, it can be a great time to share your love and gratitude to friends, family members and/or partners. With that in mind, Card Factory would love you to visit their website here and pick out your favourite items, whether that’s cards, gifts, flowers or balloons and post them on the thread.

Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “Giving a gift can make any occasion even more special and at Card Factory, you can find something they’ll love from just £1.99. We’ve got fantastic high street and personalised gifts available, as well as more unusual presents like balloon bouquets. Whatever the celebration, you’re bound to find something perfect.”

As well as posting your favourite items from Card Factory, we would also love you to share your gift giving tips. Do you always ensure either the card or gift is personalised to make it that extra bit special? Do you prefer to surprise them with a gift you think they’ll love or ask them exactly what they want? Or maybe you always ensure the wrapping is set to impress.

Whatever your favourite gifts and gift giving tips are, share them on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher voucher of their choice (from a list). PLUS 5 MNers will win the item they’ve picked from Card factory!

Thanks and good luck!

I also love this: www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/photo-upload-20-photos-and-message-print.htm

I think really hard about gifts. Sometimes if I haven’t got something big in mind, I like to get a theme of small gifts. For example black and white, bathroom stuff, pretentious food etc

I try to ensure I don’t buy the same sort of thing for people every year, so if it’s perfume one year it won’t be the next. The only exception to this is my dad who genuinely loves new socks.

We tend to go to places like the cars factory to replenish our card stock a couple of times a year as we always are caught short with cards. This does mean we don’t necessarily give out very ‘personal’ cards, but we always write a personal message or get our dd to draw a picture in them.

I love the personalised photo print. I've tried to do one every year for fathers day & it's great seeing how our family's grown.
My younget daughter would love the balloon bouquet it's really cute.
My pre teen would be over the moon with the personalised photo print notebook.
We would all be happy with the sweet jar!

I love to give a luxury candle as a gift, as it lasts longer than a bouquet, adds fragrance and brings a room to lift, so I would choose this from the card factory website www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/no-place-like-home-scented-candle.htm.

My mum and sisters and the children are really easy to buy for so I don't generally ask them what they would like but my dad and grandparents are really difficult I struggle every year with what to get.

I always think about the person, what they enjoy doing and what they already have and what they would like to have as a treat or something practical.

From the Cards Factory website I would choose this for my friend who is getting married in April

This unicorn birthday card is great www.cardfactory.co.uk/cards/photo-upload-birthday-card-magical-birthday.htm - really colourful and everyone loves unicorns these days! I like photo cards especially for young children - it makes it unique and they feel special because you've gone to the effort of picking out a nice photo.

I like giving surprise gifts, but try to find out in the few weeks before hand what they might like - for children, their favourite characters etc, or for adults, things they'd love to treat themselves to but don't feel they can justify it.

I love this www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/happy-birthday-blue-balloon-bouquet.htm would love to have this delivered for my sons birthday in March. This, along with a card, is the prefect way to mark a birthday. My son loves balloons and as it will last a couple of weeks will stay up, probably as long as his cards. I love to give gifts in boxes and gift bags as they look extra special (I also save and reuse bags and boxes we have been given, leaving the gift tag on so I don't 'regift' the bag.

I really like this chessboard set personalised cheese board

DH and I love to curl up together with a massive cheeseboard and all the trimmings and watch films together on lazy sunday afternoons.

The fact it can be personalised to us is a lovely touch, I try and think outside the box when it comes to little gifts and personalisation can help with the "extra specialness" of it

Thanks :)

I like the photo upload tote bags. I usually do mugs so this makes a nice change.
www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/photo-upload-tote-bag-double-flowers.htm

I do personalised cards when I'm abroad and so can't send them a card I've written in myself. I see it as an acceptable substitute, but I would rather chose a card in a shop and write in it myself.

I love the cards from card factory.they are all good quality, with a great variety, and i find the price to be very reasonable.

Little gifts I have got from card factory include mugs, photo frames, key rings, balloons, calendars, notepads etc.
Quite often when I’m in card factory,I’ll pick up the 5 cards which are on deal for £1. Absolute bargain, and they’re so handy to have in the cupboard for dc’s friends birthdays.

I always go to card factory to buy cards.i love it.

I like the Card Factory 10 cards for £1. Really useful for last minute birthday parties etc. and means I can spend more on the presents! I always have loads of different types of wrapping paper which I buy in bulk from Primark. A pain to store, but makes wrapping presents effortless.

Thomas balloon - my little boy loves balloons and always sees them as a treat. We usually go into the card factory so he can choose something. I love how cheap their little character stationary sets are too!

I love Card Factory! Their kids' cards are beyond cute - like this magician birthday card www.cardfactory.co.uk/cards/personalised-any-age-birthday-card-magician.htm I'd no idea they did personalised cards and for such a good price too! Those are a definite future purchase. I always stock up on kids' cards whenever I'm in there, as then you have them ready at home for the next round of class birthday parties. The other good thing about that is they have lots of "unisex" designs that can be given to boys or girls, which also helps if there's a birthday you've forgotten. The other thing I love is their tissue paper - especially great for wrapping Christmas stocking presents quickly. The patterns are so cute and festive and it was only 99p for 6 sheets, IIRC! Ok, I'll stop now (can you tell I love Card Factory?!) Grin
