This activity is now closed

Valentines Day and Mother’s Day are on the horizon and whether you celebrate them or not, it can be a great time to share your love and gratitude to friends, family members and/or partners. With that in mind, Card Factory would love you to visit their website here and pick out your favourite items, whether that’s cards, gifts, flowers or balloons and post them on the thread.

Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “Giving a gift can make any occasion even more special and at Card Factory, you can find something they’ll love from just £1.99. We’ve got fantastic high street and personalised gifts available, as well as more unusual presents like balloon bouquets. Whatever the celebration, you’re bound to find something perfect.”

As well as posting your favourite items from Card Factory, we would also love you to share your gift giving tips. Do you always ensure either the card or gift is personalised to make it that extra bit special? Do you prefer to surprise them with a gift you think they’ll love or ask them exactly what they want? Or maybe you always ensure the wrapping is set to impress.

Whatever your favourite gifts and gift giving tips are, share them on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher voucher of their choice (from a list). PLUS 5 MNers will win the item they’ve picked from Card factory!

Thanks and good luck!

I love The Card Factory. The prices are great, not massive like similar shops. I really like this wall art; www.cardfactory.co.uk/personalised/personalised-super-kiss-comic-print.htm
and would love it for my birthday which, also falls on valentines day.

If time allows, I love to make my own cards. With gift wrapping, I try to co-ordinate the paper and ribbon to make it look nice. I find that if a present looks appealing, it makes it much more exciting to open! i think the Card Factory is great for getting cards and gifts at very affordable prices. Seeing as cards end up in the bin 9 times out of 10, it doesn't make sense to spend a fortune on them imo! I really like all of the Mothers Day gift ideas at Card factory this year, expecially www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/mothers-day-gifts/wonderful-mum-flowers-in-jug-two-colours.htm

The set of three gift boxes for 99p looks useful (and a bargain!)

My present-giving tip is to use real ribbon on presents - much nicer than the the narrow plastic curling string stuff.

I often impulse buy things I'd like myself, and then wait for the right opportunity to give them to someone else.

Favourite gift from CF - photo prints, probably the 12 photo print. In buying presents I like to give surprises but I hate waste, especially plastics. I think where the item will be in a year or two. Fine if it will have been eaten/drunk or if it will still be used. The foil balloon or novelty desk item are more likely to be on a rubbish dump or floating in the sea.

Remember that it's the thought that counts. Make the gifts and get your children involved. You can't beat the personal touch. I really like the diaries on the cardfactory website.

I love the personalised Keep Calm stainless steel vacuum flask - I know it's a bit random but I'd really like a flask because I'm a bit of a tea addict.

When I'm buying presents I always like to buy a surprise. I ask what people want and if I get them that, I still buy little surprises. If they don't know what they want - it's surprises all the way. This all stems from me ALWAYS wanting surprises and NEVER getting them. I just used to get shouted at for not knowing what I wanted! :-)

I hadn't realised they stocked candles. This one looks pretty and I'm intrigued to know what it smells like. www.cardfactory.co.uk/gifts/mexican-hibiscus-scented-candle-sugar-and-spice.htm

Earlier I ordered sample invitations from cardfactory but found some mistakes and the paper quality was not as expected. They offered me only one type of invitation paper so I canceled the order after getting a sample. Later I ordered from IndianWeddingCards , they designed me what I want and the paper quality and inks were same as I expected.

There are quite ways to gift A woman for childbirth I personally feel that a bracelet or Greeting parents cards would be really good.so I can select presents that either mean something to thèm or are useful, I don't just randomly pick anything there's always a lot of thought when choosing a present for anyone. The same way I'd hope people would do the same for me ☺

I like the personalized gifts especially the diaries I’ve got my daughter one to inspire her to keep a diary/journal - the photos remind her of great memories as she records more.

There is nothing like a bunch of hologram balloons to make a boy or girl smile. There’s something magical about the rainbow reflections!
