chickpea, tomato, coconut vegetable curry - great as it works with practically any vegetable combination for the 'vegetable' bit

pea and ham soup stew (only I make with red lentils as they cook faster)

beef pot roast

fish pie

sausage casserole

rumbledithumps

corned beef hash

cottage pie/ shepherd's pie - mince, veg and mash

leek and lentil pie

Bean quesidillas

veg in cheese sauce topped with thin layer of mash which is in turn topped with breadcrumbs /grated cheese and tomato slices

Canadian pie - no idea if this is a proper thing but it is a mix of random veg, kidney beans and breadcrumbs cooked with bacon and gravy

pizza

macaroni cheese

left overs +chili sauce+noodles

Chilli con carne topped with nachos, salsa, sweet corn, jalapeños, refried beans and cheese. Takes minutes to assemble, using chilli made on a previous night. Can be blasted in the microwave or the oven.

Staple dishes in my family are sausage casserole - both meat and veg sausages, risotto with whatever veg we have in, lasagna, roast dinners and fish Fridays.
Myself and my boys are dairy free and I'm vegetarian so makes for interesting meal times but we all love cooking together. Garlic bread is a favourite side dish especially with the risotto and lasagna.

Lancashire hotpot - so comforting
Salmon with pesto and Parmesan - v quick when home from long day at work
Chilli either veg or meat esp on Friday as leftovers good for lunch or dinner next day depending on who is doing what
Prasad cauliflower and pea curry - usually with another vegetarian curry - again a leftover dish for next day
Midweek roast - sometimes in slow cooker depending on time and organisation

Favourites that everyone is willing to eat are fajitas (however tortillas must be home made as my children like to make my life as difficult as possible apparently), and also home made pizza.

Chicken and rice bake.
Fry onions and chicken. Add cooked rice, passata, chopped peppers, any herbs you have. As I have growing boys who need lots of protein in make a couple of dents in the rice and crack eggs into them. I grate cheese over it and bake in the oven.

A healthy easy to make staple everyone loves is spiced lentils - supposed to be with pork but adapted for my partner who prefers it with chicken and easily adapted for vegan friends. It's hard to get veggie rich dishes everyone seems to enjoy but this one has been a winner for us for adults and babies!

Rub pork steaks or chicken breasts in olive oil and a sprinkling of malay spice and grill until cooked.

Meanwhile (amounts roughly for 2 adults) in a big saucepan cook 1 big thinly sliced onion and 1 big diced carrot (1/2 cm squares) in a little olive oil. When onion soft add a clove of minced garlic, a teaspoon of malay spice, a chicken stock pot, and 200ml of water, put lid on and simmer for 10 mins. Then add a drained can of green lentils, and a 200g bag of spinach (will need to add it bit by bit), cook for 2 min to warm through then stir in a tablespoon of creme fraiche (we us oatlys dairy free alternative and it works great). And voilà! Honest very healthy super tasty easily adaptable dinner.

'Cheesy Dish' which my mother invented decades ago but which we still eat regularly (and loved by all). Fried onions and bacon layered with sliced cooked potato and cheese sauce and cooked in the oven - yum. DM used to put sliced hard boiled egg in the layers too but that's been removed as DH thought it strange.

Used have traditional staples like spag bol, shepherds/cottage pie, etc. But for the last year we have been using Gousto recipe boxes and now we have a selection of cards from that which we reuse and cook from time to time.

Chilli con carne is a firm family favourite here - we have it with rice, guacamole and Greek yoghurt. We're doing veggie January, and I have had to give up dairy and soya due to BF allergic DS2, so this week it will be made in a vegan version with 3 different beans instead of meat, and I'll skip the yoghurt. Normally I cook and DH washes pots and loads the dishwasher, and DS1 clears the table (he's 4).

Pasta puttanesca

Fry garlic, chilli and a tin of anchovies. Add a tin of tomatoes, pinch of sugar, half a jar of sliced olives and half a jar of capers. Boil for 20 mins and serve with spaghetti. So easy and yummy

Lasagna is my go to dish. I'm not a great cook but love pasta and it's very hard to make a bad lasagna (provided you remember to take it out of the oven!). It's freezable and leftovers can be reheated for lunch the following day. I have mine with garlic bread but DH prefers salad.

With my four kids, there is only one meal (if you can call it that!) that they all like, as my eldest son hates anything fried, my second eldest son loves everything fried, my eldest daughter loves pretty much every kind of veg but nothing else, and my youngest daughter loves pasta....and thats it!
So, the one go to dish I make is Pasta and sausage! Its plain, simple, not the healthiest but not the worst, and for the lesser fussy ones they also add some broccoli!

I hate being a pandering mum, but I also like seeing them eat what they enjoy, life is full of enough battles without fighting them over what they are eating, so I am glad I have a go-to dish!

Eggy bread or burger and chips are the only meals I can make that everyone will eat Confused

I have one veggie DH, one ASD 7 year old with sensory issues around food, and a fussy 4 year old. Me and the 10 year old eat most things though I can't convince her to like curry.

our staples are mince (turkey and beef), which I make into meatballs, veg filled cottage pie, stuffed yellow and red peppers with cheese on top, and the everyday favourite spaghetti bolognaise (again filled with veg diced peppers, onions and courgette).

I buy cod fillets, slice and breadcrumb and make fish fingers, add to mash and make fishcakes, and in a parsley sauce with mash on top and a cheese layer and this makes a fab fish pie.

Mince and dumplings - a favourite family meal that's tasty, easy to prepare and a hearty meal that can be made healthier by using half quorn and vegetable suet. Lovely after a long walk in the woods!

Ha ha! I can’t believe someone else has made Star Wars Stew!

Things that go down well with everyone in this house are tacos, especially Nigella’s Fish Tacos, Chicken/Prawn Noodle Soup and Lentil Soup with crusty bread. We have one with cmpa and these are all ones that don’t really need adapting.

I think it’s because they’re the dishes that don’t usually just involve me dumping everything on a plate and handing it out to everyone. I always do prawn toasts or spring rolls and prawn crackers to go with the noodle soup and the taco bits all get set on the table and everyone can grab what they want. Maybe it’s the more interactive type of eating that makes everyone eat up. It also seems to make us all talk to each other a bit more.
