The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I'd love to try some makeup as a treat for myself. And a Dyson hairdryer😂

Winningbeauty · 18/12/2017 12:00

I really enjoyed being part of the waterwipes campaign, I was fortunate to win a massage class and this was a great bonding session for not only my baby and me but also for my whole nct class. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

UpOnDown · 18/12/2017 12:14

I would love to test noise cancelling headphones for kids.

ilovekitkats · 18/12/2017 12:38

This year I was picked for Colmans ketchup, Soltan sun cream and the Monqi phone. The Monqi phone was the absolute best one, testing out a child friendly mobile and giving feedback on it.

I would love to test hair products, suncream, chocolate Grin and small electrical items

PugwallsSummer · 18/12/2017 12:43

I'd like to test some nail varnishes that claim to be glittery, and are infact glittery!

I enjoyed reading about the pro steam washing machine.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 18/12/2017 14:19

I'm part of the panel and love it!

I'd love to test either a new smartphone or tablet for me or even better, one suitable for children. Maybe some sort of blender or food processor as one of my New Year Resolutions will be to cook more! Or maybe a kettle, iron or handheld hoover as ours are on their way out!!!!

like7 · 18/12/2017 14:27

I won a voucher! (I think it was this year but may have been last as time flies!) I also attended the Take 5 event which was interesting with lovely canapes (but unfortunately all the pampering slots were fully booked which was a shame..)
Some products for teenagers or families with teenagers would be great to test next year.

ASDismynormality · 18/12/2017 14:40

BIWIs low carb bootcamps have definitely been my favourite threads this year, so much support and will carry on using them next year too!

del2929 · 18/12/2017 14:45

ive enjoyed lots of things, from reading forums on pregnancy health to congenital defects in babies. it has helped me alot during my pregnancy.

ive enjoyed product testing and look forward to more opportunities in 2018.

i love reading reviews from other mums and parents. really informative and real opinions make it all worthwhile.

im already on the insight panel. do i need ro re sign up for next year???

Thunderpunt · 18/12/2017 15:07

@AnnMumsnet so sad to see you go, will miss you terribly and don't know if Mumsnet will survive without you Grin Hope our paths cross again one day!

I am on the panel already but I haven't tested anything this year, although I have done a fair few surveys.
I'd like to see kitchen equipment tested (food processors, mixers, coffee machines, etc) as I'm going to be looking for new ones next year!
Would also like to see some good teen (preferably boy if I can say that?) fiction as my previously book loving teen has gone right off the boil and I'd love to see him back with his nose in a book instead of YouTube!
Good luck Ann!

Earthmoon · 18/12/2017 17:14

I would love to test new storage solutions.

HowsAnnie25 · 18/12/2017 17:28

I got to do 3 things - Fanta but the stuff never turned up, The lamb cooking one which I really enjoyed and the ebay one which was a disaster as I had to refund my buyer but it was still worth doing and very interesting! I hope I get to do more stuff next year.
Merry Christmas X

kiya7769 · 18/12/2017 17:30

I got to test the lidl nappies! It was my first product test and i loved it! I loved taking the survey and giving my feedback on the thread. My little girl loves these nappies too!

BigGreenOlives · 18/12/2017 17:30

I haven't tested anything this year but I have been happy to read other people's views on different products. I would like to test an online course - I know that they are growing in popularity and availability and think that they would be a good way for women who have caring responsibilities to improve their skills and confidence.

desperatehousewife21 · 18/12/2017 17:32

Have loved doing all the surveys I find them so fun!

Would love to do product tests for kids toys (age 5+) or new gadgets/ home stuff.

Candles/ Reed diffusers are my particular fav Grin

elizaco · 18/12/2017 17:38

I've enjoyed taking part in the Love Lamb and Birds Eye chicken recipe testing and trying out the Sanctuary Spa moisturiser. Would love to see some "secret" shopping or dining out opportunities :)

MrsKnightley · 18/12/2017 17:40

We loved the Hatch financial test and laughed a lot at the non-Fanta test. Nothing ever arrived after the kids discussing it quite regularly. It is now known as No-Fanta here.

We would love more stuff for teens / families with older children. Things they can test too.

Thanks for all the chances we have been given.

mrsglowglow · 18/12/2017 17:44

Would love to test the dyson fan and also the dyson hairdrier. They are quite pricey but interested to see if they are worth splashing out on.

Dream would be to test out a family break to centre parks Grin

AngelwingsPetlamb · 18/12/2017 17:47

I’ve retweeted your top post of today.
I trialled the paint and was really pleased with the results. I don’t mind what I trial, or which projects I get a chance to participate in, I love being involved and having an opportunity to try something new and feed back to everyone.
Thank you Ann..

duck22 · 18/12/2017 17:48

Would love to test different babyfood brands. We will start weaning at the start of next year, so would be great to see what is out there and which brands are best

happygemini13 · 18/12/2017 17:50

I would love to try recipe boxes that are delivered to the house and maybe craft boxes for children, Merry Christmas everyone 😀🎄🎁

Reastie · 18/12/2017 17:50

Good luck at your pastures new Ann whatever they be.

I most enjoyed testing the most amazing vorwerk Hoover ever as part of mumsnet local test (I got it for a week and have been yearning for one ever since!) and would like to thank mn for the product tests you run.

Dd loved meeting the smurfs and going to the special screening of the smurfs film in London.

TeddyIsaHe · 18/12/2017 17:52

I’ve really enjoyed testing the baby products, dd is a willing volunteer and especially enjoyed anything food related! There’s so many brands out there that being able to try and review, and read other’s opinions on certain products definitely makes a difference to my shopping habits.

Also the Sanctuary Spa in shower moisturiser has revolutionised my morning routine, I would never have bought it, and now I couldn’t live without it!

gazsm · 18/12/2017 17:52

Ive loved being a part of a community, a font of knowledge and testing some fun and some tasty products, thanks and merry christmas x

QuietNinjaTardis · 18/12/2017 17:56

I'd like to test some board games 😁
