The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I'd love to test some sports kit for outdoorsy women - there's still definitley more 'technical' stuff for men. And vacuum cleaners!

I always check mumsnet for reviews before I buy something, so keep the reviews coming please!

frecklemcspeckles · 18/12/2017 18:03

We enjoyed the Disney birthday cake testing and I appreciated the kids book to review. I'd love more either healthy and beauty products to test eg organic or higher end beauty products or some tech - kitchen or computing.
I enjoy knowing that companies value our opinion and find it good to get involved with tests like these as many focus groups product launches etc are all based in SE England. This gives those of us in NI a great chance to participate!

FizzySmiles · 18/12/2017 18:11

I enjoyed taking part in the Aveeno product test. It enlightened me to looking into different lotions and bath products as i had just stuck with the same ones since my first was born. I have since been using this product and recommending it to friends and family. I loved the quick drying time of it and the fragrance.

I would love to try out the Tefal cook4me. I first saw it on mumsnet and read all of the feedback/reviews. I would hopefully like to get one soon but being on maternity leave it is just out of budget right now. I wouldnt have known about this product if it wasnt for Mumsnet.

Merry Christmas Mumsnet 🎅🎄🎉

NicHay · 18/12/2017 18:11

I enjoyed taking party in the Birdseye test and reading about the Goustoboxes. I would like to test tablets - my ipad is coming to the end of it's life - are any of the cheaper alternatives feasible as a replacement?

FizzySmiles · 18/12/2017 18:13

Just followed you (mumsnet insight) on twittee and retweeted 😁@DominiqueP1992

queenoftheschoolrun · 18/12/2017 18:14

We enjoyed the lamb and Birds Eye recipe tests and DD enjoyed the Moshi Monsters pack.

We'd love to test children's activities/days out etc, films and books. And more recipes please. Oh, and a Kitchenaid would be lovely if you could arrange that too!

WowOoo · 18/12/2017 18:22

I loved taking part in the Bare Essentials foundation test. It came at just the right time.

I'd love to test more make up and beauty products like moisturisers, facial washes and scrubs.

19angel77 · 18/12/2017 18:22

I have really enjoyed being a part of some amazing product testing, my 7 year old son says that his favourite was the mooshi monsters pack as it had lots of activities for him to complete. I have enjoyed seeing what other people think about the products as well as their opinions on things that affect people. Thank you for a great 2017. Merry Christmas and I hope 2018 is great for you all

WineCheeseSleep · 18/12/2017 18:36

I liked reading about the Google Home product test because it's an interesting product I'd like to get myself, and it's nice to see premium products being tested by the panel.

I haven't been selected for any testing this year I don't think though, I've filled out questionnaires quite often but never get selected. I've done loads of surveys though.

emmav6 · 18/12/2017 18:41

had a fab first year taking part in the insight surveys and reviews, i would love to test anything that makes our busy household more organised or time efficient.....a super quick washing machine would be a dream x

CheeseAtFourpence · 18/12/2017 18:42

Would love to test something food-related to get me out of the rut I’m stuck in when it comes to cooking, so maybe a recipe box, or equipment I would not normally use.

emmav6 · 18/12/2017 18:42

followed and rt on twitter also :)
@emmav6

nippey · 18/12/2017 18:46

I would love more beauty items to test. I was lucky enough to test Sanctuary shower moisturiser and it’s now a staple in my routine.

MonaChopsis · 18/12/2017 18:50

I really enjoyed testing the Birdseye chicken, it was a good product.

I would love to test a robot vacuum cleaner, or - and this would be a harder ask for HQ I think - ways of cutting down plastic use in an average household. Reusable wraps, no-plastic packaging etc etc.

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 18/12/2017 19:07

We were lucky enough to take part in the MyTutor product test which gave DD chance to have a few online tutor sessions which she really enjoyed and found helpful. It was interesting for her to be tutored by young people only a few years older than her (Uni students) rather than by teachers at school.

It was a great experience all round as she did the majority of organising the sessions which involved picking tutors, corresponding by email, arranging times of sessions, checking IT would support the sessions etc - a taste of taking some responsibility for her learning.

dp87 · 18/12/2017 19:15

I loved testing the nappies ideas struggling to find ones that didn't leak but wouldn't have thought to try out Lidl they were and are still amazing.

I'd love to try out anything that my kids would enjoy or would make my life easier lol maybe a robot to hoover

CheeryCherry · 18/12/2017 19:28

Aww Ann thank you for all your hard work! You will be missed!

Would like relaxation products to try - scents, oils, massage tools etc.
More pet products.
Vegan products please!

barricade · 18/12/2017 19:36

I was invited to 2 product trials - one for Pampers nappies, and one for Aveeno Moisturiser, I think it was. It's was great to be involved, and hopefully the feedback that I've provided will help contribute to consumers making informed choices, as well as to help companies working to improve their products.
I have never won any money prizes via the Insight forum, but via the Mumsnet site in general, I've also been fortunate to receive several books from Mumsnet this past year. It has been an absolute pleasure to read & review them all, and one of my reviews enabled me to win a £100 Love2Shop voucher, which I was thrilled to bits to receive.

Keep the offers & competitions coming ..... and keep up the great work!!!! And best of luck to Ann in her future endeavours!!

Smile
Rae1000 · 18/12/2017 19:53

Hi there, probably my mumsnet highlight this year was being chosen to product test google home. Amazing and now a fully pledged household member. Would maybe love to product test face creams next year! Thanks

rediredi · 18/12/2017 19:54

Joined the panel! Can’t wait to take part in testing Smile

user1495997773 · 18/12/2017 20:04

I'd like to try out some sensitive skin care items as DD has eczema and I'm always looking for new things to use on her. I've enjoyed the potty training threads!

bluebump · 18/12/2017 20:10

I won a copy of Fearne Cottons book to read and review but I don't think I've been chosen for anything on the Insight Panel at all this year.

I'd love to product test useful things like tumble driers, vacuum cleaners etc. Failing that I love a beauty product or gadget and I'm always looking for new things to try.

Blahblahblueblee · 18/12/2017 20:16

Coconut, that’s lovely that it’s had such a positive impact.

I really liked the sun cream it was great to try something I might buy. I’d have love to have tested lots of the other things this year.

Next year I’d really like to test clothing, food, books, bubble bath, cosmetics, storage solutions in fact - anything!!

peronel · 18/12/2017 20:28

I did the Birds Eye test which was fun and I added a recipe to my repertoire Smile

Wattonearth · 18/12/2017 20:34

I would love to test one of those robot hoovers or lawn mowers.... I genuinely can’t believe that they work to a decent standard and would like to be disproved!
