The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I loved testing the Gousto box.
Had a great week cooking with the DCs, we all got involved.

Headfullofdreams · 15/12/2017 22:51

Followed you on Twitter!

MrsFrTedCrilly · 15/12/2017 23:05

We were lucky enough to be selected for the pizza express test earlier this year. Definitely a highlight!
Would love to test a gadget, like a vacuum cleaner or kitchen appliance.
Good luck Ann!

Floralnomad · 16/12/2017 00:11

We have enjoyed testing the air purifier it’s been excellent .

AirandMungBeans · 16/12/2017 00:15

We really enjoyed testing the reading eggs website. It was perfect timing for DS1 who has just started school.

ErinSophia · 16/12/2017 01:21

I would like to product test dvds next year please!

ohfourfoxache · 16/12/2017 02:23

The information on the Hippy Chick hipseat is so, so helpful (can’t remember what year it was from tbh) - and it’s reassuring knowing that it’s MN recommended.

I purchased one recently for carrying —absolutely huge— ds2 and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Ann, thank you for all you have done over the years and good luck! Thanks

Shireslass · 16/12/2017 07:20

I am glad we tested the Aveeno baby moisturiser , something we have continued to use (not just on the baby!)
Next year, it would be great to test a robot vacuum and see if it is something which is worth us buying.

Im a big fan of Insight, it’s brilliant to be able to try out new products, particularly as they are always super useful and generally life hacks. We really enjoyed the Birdseye chicken challenge, I would Defo like to be part of any new recipe/ food ideas, as a full time working mum I appreciate all ideas to make dinner time interesting and fun. We’ve switch pull up brand after the Lidi product test 😊. It would be fab if future tests could look at technological hints and helps, as useful would be beauty and health based products that help mums feel nourished and glam- maybe subscription boxes?? Overall a huge thank you, I really value being an Insight panel member.

asuwere · 16/12/2017 09:24

I've tested a few different things this year and enjoyed them all - every time we have something new now the DC ask if its a product test :)

Good luck with wherever you're going Ann :)

Coconutcreampie · 16/12/2017 09:39

I had a breakdown early this year and was slowly in recovery around may/June whereby I applied to test google home and received it. Prior to my breakdown i used to always put the radio on and sing along when cooking tea. My husband came over quite emotional a couple of Sundays after we received it because he heard me singing along with Google music whilst making sunday dinner and he hadn't heard me sing for months (I hadn't even realised I had stopped doing that), he said that's when he knew I was going to be OK again.

PhuntSox · 16/12/2017 09:59

Next year I would like to product test a slow cooker and a pressure cooker and compare (and some Jo Malone candles - they need reviewing...).

chibsortig · 16/12/2017 12:01

Ive tested some lovely food products this year, gutted i missed out on the mattress or one of the washing machine/tumble dryers but i have won some voucher after completing surveys and taking part in product tests which made life a bit easier at times. Thanks

wonkylegs · 16/12/2017 12:11

We tested some nappies - they weren't great for us but ce la vie, baby bums are all different.
The honey ketchup - which some of us liked others not so much
Aveno Baby moisturiser- lovely but could tone down the scent a little
Could you test LED light bulbs? I'm not convinced by them yet although I like the reduction in energy - actually any 'green' products / services would be good. As I'd love to do more but the 'newness' / unfamiliar nature of many products makes me less likely to make the leap.

TheKnackeredChef · 16/12/2017 12:43

I've just signed up for the Insight Panel. I won one of the prize draws a few weeks ago so looking forward to taking part.

NerrSnerr · 16/12/2017 14:45

I would love to test an ereader as I’m on the fence whether to get one or not.

We loved testing the Google Home, it has been great to use. Pull ups were useful too.

Playdohnut · 16/12/2017 15:16

I'd love to test a Kano or similar with the kids.

malisa · 16/12/2017 16:19

Through the year I've enjoy reading tips and ideas on Mumsnet. There was so many valuable topics to read and I like reading mums reviews about Cybex and Hillary Duvalay mattress. Myself suffer from lack of sleep so this would be amazing to test if similar opportunity come along. I'm particularly interested in baby products and any equipment making easier with work at home. It would be great to test Dyson hairdryer as I've heard a lot about this product.
c) and d) Already following @MumsnetInsight and RT
Thank you for the amazing year of help and advice.

FranksBobot · 16/12/2017 16:51

I and the entire bobot family can not thank you enough for choosing us to visit the Harry potter studios with you.
We had the most amazing, magical time ever and have made memories to last a life time (not including the horrendous traffic and baby bots momentous travel sickness!) Our eldest dd still talks about it with such fondness! She felt like royalty and has held mumsnet in such high regard since!!

It truly was the highlight of 2017 for us and I honestly don't think you could top it!

FranksBobot · 16/12/2017 16:54

Oh dear it would appear that was 2016!!

See mumsnet it was so good I've lost entire year because of it !

voyager50 · 16/12/2017 17:10

I enjoyed taking part in the discussion with the author of 'Another Day in the Death of America' - it was both sad and interesting to read the book and to have the chance to ask Gary questions about it.

NoStraightEdges · 16/12/2017 17:11

I haven't won anything or got to test anything this year-but instill read the threads, they are strangely compelling!

I'd love to test a new bed or mattress-we need a new one but I just can't bring myself to spend £££ on one without ever having slept a night on the mattress!

witheringnights · 16/12/2017 17:23

I'd love anything to help my pelvic floor 🙈
I've tested nappies before, that's always really helpful to know of brands that are good, especially for overnight!
Anything that helps with sterilizing.
And a dishwasher! 😂
