The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I would love to review a duel fuel cooker :)

orionleah2012 · 07/01/2018 02:05

I would really like more post aimed at teenagers and product testing time for teenagers would be great. there seem to be void between the you having a teenager and your next step is being granny!! as i said very big void. Does seem in general you stop being mum and not classed as mum on these forums when they reach the teenage years and years and beyond. I become more of mum to my children as they got older as they still need you there. Hence need more forums chat on older years too..

hannahlw85 · 07/01/2018 02:22

I'd love to product test anything as I've never been lucky enough to be a product tester. A washing machine would be my perfect item to test!

Tonkatol · 07/01/2018 02:42

Have really enjoyed being part of the Mumsnet Insight panel and have the chance to review products/services.

Particularly enjoyed taking part in the Soldo product test - not only did it give me the chance to test the product, but as I involved 2 of my DD in this test, it gave me a real heads-up on their spending habits 😲

Would love to see Mumsnet test products/services for parents/carers who are disabled and, within that, any products particularly suited to young carers.

Follow Mumsnet as @tonkatol. Thank you for supporting us mums over the past year and providing so many topics to read up on or join in with. Thanks also for the Talk Boards, an invaluable source of advice from other mums.

Enjoy wherever your path takes you next, Ann and hope your successor continues the excellent work of Mumsnet.

I've been lucky enough to be chosen to read and review a couple of books, and would love more chances to do this.

Have been considering whether to purchase gadgets such as slow cookers and coffee machines. However, reluctant to buy as I have a small kitchen, and don't want unused items filling up worktops and cupboards. Kitchen gadgets would be great to test though.

Following mumsnet on Twitter, and retweeted a post. Twitter ID @libra10001

Happy New Year!

Cotswoldmama · 07/01/2018 12:32

I’ve inly just joined so I haven’t tested anything yet. I’d love to test anything that helps save time cooking or helping me with my fussy eater

Tutu81 · 07/01/2018 13:29

I'd really like to product test an at home IPL machine. I love the thought of not having to wax / shave as much and I've always wondered if these machines actually work!

Ethan260908 · 07/01/2018 13:55

I personally got the most out of reading eggs, I thought it was such a simple yet effective tool I wondered why it hadn't be done before, even though I hadn't thought of it. To be honest, I would be grateful to test anything related to hair removal or anything at all

Elizasmum02 · 07/01/2018 14:44

d love to test a lumie light heard they are super

rachelmi · 07/01/2018 15:40

I always enjoy the book reviews and people’s witty comments x

CopperPan · 07/01/2018 18:49

I was very lucky to test an AEG washing machine this year and I am still really impressed with it. We also tested the Aveeno baby lotion which was great as well. I would like to test more baby products next year.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/01/2018 18:56

A better year for me this year in terms of being offered tests, I enjoyed the Sanctuary wet skin moisturiser, I still really like it.
I also had a can of fanta posted to me. Unfortunately the testing questions never happened even though we kept pestering mn. @mnhq what did actually happen to that test?

sarac79 · 07/01/2018 20:53

I would like to test the new dyson hairdryer

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/01/2018 20:59

I'd like to test the Dyson too. Not for me, I've got such fine hair it would just blow it off my head Grin but it would suit dds I think.

Allgrownup3 · 07/01/2018 22:04

I have joined the panel. I would also love to be a product tester.

pinkspideruk · 07/01/2018 22:35

We enjoy all the tests we do - the nokia thermometer was brilliant and has a firm place now in our first aid kit!

we'd love more food tests - particularly low sugar / sugar free items, vegan / dairy free items and easy cooking :) I'd also personally love to test a hoover that is able to actually pick up cat fur, litter, ground in biscuits and whatever the dog has dragged in! Oh and a new mattress too!

already a member of the panel and follow on twitter :)

Emmamaryd · 07/01/2018 22:42

It would be nice to product test laundry products

moogdroog · 07/01/2018 23:12

Enjoyed reading and testing this year.

I think the world needs to hear Mumsnetters' thoughts on robot vacuum cleaners, personally.

Gill81uk · 07/01/2018 23:19

Amazing prizes.

I'd love to do some product tests. Hair dye would be a great one, or luxury beauty products that I can't justify spending lots of money on to try. If I hit jackpot and try one that I like then I would definitely continue buying and I suspect most Mums feel the same! make up is another good one, particularly foundation or mascara.

Tuttytoffee · 07/01/2018 23:41

Not long joined MN but loving it already! I have followed on Twitter and retweeted some tweets. Also applied to test out fairy stain remover so fingers crossed.

Bequinha213 · 08/01/2018 00:46

Happy New Year Everyone!
I just hope this new year comes full of new opportunities including the opportunity to test new products for my sweet baby girl.
In the top of my list is the Tripp Trapp high chair And weaning essentials.

cathyov · 08/01/2018 08:35

I love the idea of trialling a robotic cleaner, they look so small and neat hard to believe they would do a good job! I wonder if they will bring any other robotic 'house helpers' out - always willing to give them a try!

MAT12 · 08/01/2018 08:38

I would like the chance to test healthy/organic/vegetarian eating products. Skincare, makeup, hair removal machines, electric toothbrushes and any other electrical tools in that department. I love baking so equipment to help in that department, food processers, bakeware, cake decorating equipment anything.

Onedaylikethi5 · 08/01/2018 11:29

I really enjoyed winning a £300 voucher by testing the Rightmove School Checker. I have also enjoyed testing Aveeno and Lidl nappies.

I would love to see Mumsnet champion some key womens and parenting issues via the product testing. It would be great to see some testing completed on reusable sanpro products (cups and washable pads). I would also like to see mumsnet get behind the campaign for extended rear facing car seats by testing some of these products and providing feedback and endorsement. The mumsnet seal of approval is such a powerful thing and I would like to see it used to increase awareness and help brands that need some support to reach people with their positive alternatives.

AVT5 · 08/01/2018 13:12

I liked testing the lidl nappies on my 7 month old . Iv always stuck with tesco so was good to compare.
