The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

After 10 years at Mumsnet, I am logging off and leaving at the end of the year - will def be on the ‘other side’ and keeping an eye on the team. It’s been amazing at MNHQ - seeing the site grow and develop and to work with a great team but time for a change for me personally.

Read on for the chance to win...

~ A Thule Urban Glide running buggy worth £435 Grin or
~ A ‘Christmas All Wrapped Up’ mixed case of wine from Virgin Wines - worth £116.87 or
~ The Marie Claire Skincare Edit from Fabled worth £79 (containing £120 worth of products - ELEMIS Pro Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30, Erborian CC Crème, Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm and Caudalie Beauty Elixir) or
~ A Sanctuary Spa hamper worth £50 or
NEW ~ A year of Soreen worth £70 (52 x £1.35 vouchers for your choice of their squidgy loaves) or
NEW ~ An "Advance Daysack" – worth £75 - from Ski Weekend - they say "a stylish and technical daypack with several compartments and branded with Ski Weekend and Advance Logos. A must have for anyone in need of transporting your kit for an active lifestyle!" Find out more about Ski Weekend (Ski Operators for 30 years, they offer a personal service tailoring Ski breaks in and around Chamonix, Mont Blanc - with a chalet which is ideal for large family and friends groups and is great for kids) here

In 2017, we have given away over £53,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

This year we have all been thrilled to see the Mumsnet Rated badge really gaining momentum - have you seen it on products like Birds Eye frozen chicken, Arla Big Milk, Hedrin Once etc? We have also loved getting your houses sparkly with Buster, and Dettol, having some fun with Count Olaf and Netflix and scoffing trying Soreen mini loaves (they sent soooo much to MNHQ).

For a chance to win one of the above prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on twitter page @MumsnetInsight

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

I'd like to test any of these things: an electric bike, a memory foam mattress, quality kitchen knives or an English heritage/ national trust membership.

honeyandginger48 · 16/12/2017 18:06

I really wanted to be chosen to test the pelvic floor exerciser.... Perhaps they'll be another chance next year.... Second choice would be a new memory foam mattress.

Theimpossiblegirl · 16/12/2017 18:06

We loved the Gousto box and Bird's Eye chicken.
I'd love to test spa days or weekend breaks. 😉

librarypictures · 16/12/2017 18:10

I enjoyed testing a Gousto Box - it was surprising good.
Would like to test anything car related or beauty products.

cheekylittledevil · 16/12/2017 18:26

I'd like to test out some lovely expensive skin treatments please Grin.

SisterMoonshine · 16/12/2017 18:47

I haven't tested anything since the EE smartphone (maybe the previous year?) But it was great.
I'd also like to test pamper stuff, moisturisers, perfumes etc (someone's got to do it) and kitchen gadgets.

EveryDayIsLikeMonday · 16/12/2017 19:45

I'd be happy to test anything, especially wine delivery 😁. I don't get chosen for many product tests, as my kids are too old. Did try out the tampon bags last year though!
I'd like to test out kitchen or household products too. Bought a Dyson on the strength of reviews on mumsnet.

Tanfastic · 16/12/2017 19:48

I've been following Mumsnet Insight on Twitter for ages. Just done a retweet for you 😊👍🏼

HollyJollyDillydolly · 16/12/2017 20:07

I'd love to try anything gadgety or beauty related. The Dyson hairdryer would be amazing! Xmas Smile

cannotmakemymindup · 16/12/2017 20:19

Enjoyed testing Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants and as other pps said was very surprised at quality. I like the honesty of the insight boards.
Makes the Mumsnet rated products and restaurants better. I know they've been through there paces.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 16/12/2017 20:25

Good luck Ann, as you move onto other things!.

I'd love to product test the Cerezen, designed to stop you grinding your teeth. I have broken my teeth this way, so anything to help would be great, but these are a big financial outlay with the risk of it not being effective enough to justify the cost.

I've really enjoyed the tips threads - the Christmas one at the moment is useful for cooking ideas!

NauticalDisaster · 16/12/2017 20:45

I would like to test a carpet cleaner. Why? I need my carpets to be cleaned Grin

leccybill · 16/12/2017 20:56

We enjoyed testing the Birds Eye chicken recipes, DD got really involved in it.
I also reviewed a book as part of MN Book Club.
I'd love to test any electrical hair products to find the right thing for my hair. Curlers, straighteners, dryers etc.

Thank you and good luck Ann. When you said 'the other side', I thought you meant Netmums Smile

Popcornandbuttons · 16/12/2017 20:59

Good luck Ann.

I only joined Mumsnet this year (I think, my baby brain doesn't remember what date really), and quickly signed up to the insight panel. I actually think its quite cool when survey responses are then converted into data and a readable article. Like with the feeding survey.

I enjoyed testing the anti-bacterial hand wipes - now a staple in my bag.

I'd like to test some food items as I'm always looking for new things for cooking as I get fed up of the same things.

ThePug · 16/12/2017 21:12

We've been lucky enough to test some brilliant things this year, from the Little Dish toddler foods to an AEG washing machine and have enjoyed trialling them all and giving our feedback.

I actually noticed and pointed out the Mumsnet Rated badge to DH on some Birds Eye products in Sainsburys this afternoon!

I'd love to test a pushchair next year - still not over getting to try the Cybex Mios!!

biffyboom · 16/12/2017 21:14

I would like to test something that is aimed at improving asthma or allergy sufferers, for my ds and dp.

KadabrasSpoon · 16/12/2017 21:45

I've liked testing everything although my poor postman probably hasn't enjoyed it as much. The honey ketchup was interesting and nappies are always useful.
I'd love to test something like a miele tumble dryer. That might be unrealistic though!
Good luck Ann and all the best

GetKnitted · 16/12/2017 21:46

Moshi Monsters was fun, I think that was this year!?

For next year, perhaps some older children's books to review?

starlight36 · 16/12/2017 21:48

We all loved the Birds Eye product test and it genuinely changed my opinion of the product. The kids loved the Moshi test - the game is still played regularly and I hope that the feedback helps to evolve the subscription boxes. A great idea but the offering didn't fit with the RRP.

I would love to trial some of the HIVE products. We have the heating but I feel a bit lost as to how the other smart products work. I'm also interested in eco cleaning products.

Good luck AnnMumsnet wherever you are heading next.

BarbiesPinkShoes23 · 16/12/2017 22:30

I enjoyed testing the Lidl pull ups, they came in very handy and also theLittle Dish baby pouches. Next year I would like to test more beauty and household products.

TheColdDoesBotherMeAnyway · 17/12/2017 07:33

I enjoyed winning a £150 voucher so thank you Grin

Dd2 is waiting for her first letter from the company offering letters to help with reading (sorry, it’s been so long since I have heard anything from them I have forgotten the name of the company - I believe it has been delayed?)

I would like to test fitness trackers, including ones suitable for children please, and devices such as Google Home/Alexa.

Happy Christmas insight team, and good luck in your next venture Ann Xmas Smile

HermanCakeDestroyer · 17/12/2017 08:05

I’ve really enjoyed being on the insight panel. I’ve particularly enjoyed the cooking /baking tasks. For next year I’d like to see more insight tasks for miners with teenage children.
All the best @AnnMumsnet and thanks for your help over the years. Merry Christmas to you and your family ⛅️

rachaelsit · 17/12/2017 08:06

I enjoyed testing the my first savse pouches because it introduced me to a new brand.
Also, I didn’t get to test but I read with interest the stuff about pelvic floor training equipment.
Next year I would like to test new and innovative home appliances, ones that make life more efficient and/or save money.

I’ve retweeted as rachaelsit on twitter and I have joined the panel.

HermanCakeDestroyer · 17/12/2017 08:06

MNers not miners (pesky autocorrect!!)
