The team at NOW TV would love to hear which Christmas movie gets your family together and huddled around the TV with appropriately festive snacks Xmas Smile. Do you go for a classic, a new favourite, an animated flick or one which isn’t technically about Christmas but still reminds you of that time of year?

NOW TV say “With NOW TV, we have a host of family movies lined up for the festive period - from Frozen to The Polar Express and even the classic Sound of Music! Families can also enjoy newer movies like Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and The Lego Batman Movie - all from the comfort of their own front room!”

Whatever the preference in your house, add your most-loved Christmas movie below and why it's simply the best for you and yours, and you will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

It has to be Home Alone (even typing the words I can hear the melody that the choir sing in the Church- pure ‘Christmas’!!)

RiSo · 25/11/2017 10:15

Polar Express for us, we have even been on a local Polar Express christmas train which we all loved

PussCatTheGoldfish · 25/11/2017 10:24

It's A Christmas Carol in its various guises. The kids love the Muppet version, I love the Alistair Sim version.

katslo4 · 25/11/2017 12:32

Home alone Is my favourite. The kids were old enough to watch it last Christmas. So lovely to watch a film you watched and loved as a child with your own children.

Marg2k8 · 25/11/2017 13:25

I don't like to keep watching the same films over and over, but I do like The Grinch

jacqui5366 · 25/11/2017 14:03

has to be ELF - Buddy's enthusiasm for Christmas is absolutely hilarious.

ha2el · 25/11/2017 16:22

Elf. I only came across it 3 years ago. Will Ferrell is hilarious, and his rampant joy in it is very infectious and we all feel great with all the laughter.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 25/11/2017 17:38

The snowman. Can't beat it.

holey · 25/11/2017 18:14

It is The Grinch for us. We can't get through Christmas without watching it at least once. For me it's because I love the snow and lights and the quaint, old fashioned look of the town with everyone bustling about. Even though in real life I'd be cold and annoyed with all the crowds!

queenoftheschoolrun · 25/11/2017 18:15

The countdown to Christmas officially starts when we watch The Snowman.

itshappenedagain · 25/11/2017 18:29

For us it’s home alone. The dc are historical laughing every time.
Close second is miracle on 34th street.
We watch at least one Christmas film a week during December, but Home alone is always Christmas Eve. Once the veggies have been peeled.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 25/11/2017 18:39

Elf the animated version is absolute favourite (Buddy is voiced by Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory). The little one finds Will Ferrell in tights a little alarming in the love action version Grin

Home Alone and The Snowman are favourites, plus Father Christmas (also Raymond Briggs) where you will end up singing “Another Blooming Christmas” for days, Muppets Christmas Carol (dd is a HUGE Muppets fan!), Nightmare Before Christmas and I adore It’s A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart.

Dh and I have agreed that it’s not properly Christmas until we’ve watched Star Wars because that was always shown at Christmas when we were kids in 1980s HmmGrin

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 25/11/2017 18:40

Live action.

Sorry my iPhone autocorrected. Love action version sounds more than a little alarming and highly inappropriate! Blush

svalentine60 · 25/11/2017 19:33

The Grinch. Always reminds me of my grandfather who passed away years ago. He was so grouchy and hated Christmas with a passion he said but every time Christmas day came he was the first one to shout out which games to play and always got into the spirit of things. In the weeks leading up though he was the most bah humbug person i know and at midnight on christmas eve always had some sort of miraculous Christmas magic dust sprinkled on him. Even looked like the grinch a bit lol

Autumnchill · 25/11/2017 19:40

National Lampoon Christmas Vacation. My Uncle always said my Dad reminded him of Clark Griswold and so he refers to us as the Griswold family Grin

Cailin7 · 25/11/2017 19:42

The Grinch, watch it every year

SweetPeaPods · 25/11/2017 19:44

Our family favourite is the polar express.
We all love watching it.

Oddsocksforeveryone · 25/11/2017 19:53

The Muppets Christmas Carol.

Songs, Muppets, Michael Caine and a story about how we should be kind, generous and thankful. I love it so much that one of the readings at our wedding last year was part of the song "Bless us all" from the film.

buckley1983 · 25/11/2017 21:36

I absolutely love The Muppet Christmas Carol - saw it at the cinema on Boxing Day when I was about 6 & it just fills me with festive spirit - I try to push this on my LO every Christmas in the hope he will love it as much as me!
Not really a film - but certainly a festive animation - The Snowman, absolutely beautiful. My LO does love this & we've been listening to the audiobook in the car repeatedly since the beginning of Nov!!

maddie57 · 25/11/2017 22:05

It's A Christmas Carol - specifically the Patrick Stewart version because it's so heart warming and is full of the true message of Christmas.

purplepandas · 25/11/2017 23:14

Elf. The 9nly choice
Fun, non scary and festive.

sweir1 · 25/11/2017 23:20

Home alone

rachelmi · 26/11/2017 03:31

Muppet Christmas carol is our family’s favourite. Such happy memories watching together

LeighanneDS · 26/11/2017 07:05

Home Alone is a firm favourite in our house. We save this for xmas eve usually. Smile

jacknutter · 26/11/2017 07:35

Elf, timeless and loved by all the family from young to old
