Christmas is just around the corner which for many means the present lists are out and shopping mode is on. Thinking of what special gifts to get for everyone can be quite a task, however good old homemade treats often spread Christmas joy the most. Cadbury would like to know your homemade gift ideas using chocolate.

Do you create little Christmas chocolate hampers or gift bags? Perhaps you bake a chocolate cake and use individual chocolates or crumbled Flake or Crunchie as decoration? Or maybe you melt your favourite Cadbury chocolate and turn it into lollipops or transform it into your own bespoke chocolate bark to hand out?

Whatever your homemade chocolate gift ideas, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I am dairy free so use some mint/orange/raspberry essence to flavour plain chocolate and sugar to make matchmaker style shards.

My son & I make chocolate truffles to give as presents

My boys love having guests over and decorating fairy cakes with them. We recently found chocolate in a tube, where you out the tube in hot water then use it lie a pen. They love it. We use marshmallows, mini buttons, haribo, sprinkles, smarties, etc. as decoration and it's delicious!

Nigella's chocolate pistachio fudge recipe is so easy to make, I have wrapped for presents before. Never met anyone who doesn't like it, I need to keep it in the freezer to make it last longer, tastes delicious cold!

I'm not great in the kitchen but a flake sprinkled on a hot chocolate is the ultimate winter drink treat for our house!

Byrdie · 24/11/2017 10:54

We melt and pour into silicone moulds. We've so far made lego men and bricks, cat faces and panda bears!

Cadburys Whole Nut, melted and spread out on some parchment paper. Sprinkle over crushed up peppermint candy canes and a little edible gold leaf. Smash into shards when set. Put into pretty boxes with tissue paper.

And...

Melted Fruit and Nut. Place spoonfuls on parchment paper in 'rounds' add cranberries and a little gold leaf. Tada. Posh looking Florentines

People always assume we have spent a fortune! 😎

I've always wanted to try making truffles so this year I've bought teeny little truffle cases in Christmas designs and I can't wait to get started. We have often made brownies and given them as gifts in handmade bags and boxes but never chocolates yet.

triple chocolate truffle

Homemade chocolate cookies made by the kids

We make dark chocolate apricot truffles.

I have a couple of chocolate mounds - hearts and star shapes. We sometimes make homemade 'jazzier' and cover the top in hundreds and thousands. At Christmas I like to use the red, white and green sprinkles. I have some little cellophane bags that I tie with a ribbon - they look very nice for gifts.

pongopig · 24/11/2017 13:21

*jazzies not jazzier

FizzySmiles · 24/11/2017 13:27

This years gift from my 4yo will be Ginger bread men with chocolate dunked legs. Last year made chocolate fudge squares for people along with biscuits coloured centres (like a glass window, used boiled sweets)

HELENSCRESCENT · 24/11/2017 13:28

We always make chocolate cupcakes that we decorate with chocolate icing and festive sprinkles.

sarah861421 · 24/11/2017 13:33

Always make homemade fudge for my husband, and last year we also made marshmallows, and honeycomb nuggets. all very easy but incredible sweet - far too much sugar really, good fun

NerrSnerr · 24/11/2017 13:55

It’s got to be Krispie cakes here, decorated with silver balls to make them festive.

sm2012 · 24/11/2017 14:05

Homemade chocolate and pistachio fudge in a fancy jat with a nice label. They look, and taste, great :)

ColinsVeryJolly · 24/11/2017 14:35

I'm not much of a baker or talented enough to make anything fancy but you can't beat a hot chocolate with baileys and whipped cream.

I'm thing of trying to make some Xmas crispie cakes with Terry's chocolate orange though.

Goldenphoenix · 24/11/2017 14:43

We melt white chocolate over the top of our gingerbread house

Arrietty123 · 24/11/2017 14:52

I melt Cadbury's milk chocolate and mix with raisins, syrup, and cocoa to make a chocolate fridge cake. Yum :)

beckyinman · 24/11/2017 15:34

I do all kinds of chocolate based treats. Cake pops, dark chocolate popcorn bars, raspberries dipped in white chocolate and simple ganache based truffle bag

BenHurrsSandal · 24/11/2017 15:59

I make mini chocolate macarons using Bournville cocoa powder. When they're cool I fill them with ganache made with bournville choc and dairy milk melted into heated double cream. I then add either peppermint essence or orange essence to the ganache to make either mint choc or choc orange macarons. These can then be frozen until I pack them into pretty boxes to give as gifts.

missymousey · 24/11/2017 16:09

Just made hot chocolate spoons - mini paper cake case full of chocolate, with a plastic spoon and marshmallows added as it begins to set. Wrap in celllophane and give as gifts.

phillie1 · 24/11/2017 17:02

chocolate strawberries - vaguely healthy!
