Christmas is just around the corner which for many means the present lists are out and shopping mode is on. Thinking of what special gifts to get for everyone can be quite a task, however good old homemade treats often spread Christmas joy the most. Cadbury would like to know your homemade gift ideas using chocolate.

Do you create little Christmas chocolate hampers or gift bags? Perhaps you bake a chocolate cake and use individual chocolates or crumbled Flake or Crunchie as decoration? Or maybe you melt your favourite Cadbury chocolate and turn it into lollipops or transform it into your own bespoke chocolate bark to hand out?

Whatever your homemade chocolate gift ideas, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

This is not actual chocolate but I like to get a mug and put a sachet of Cadburys hot choc (the best). Some marshmallows and a candy cane in there. Wrap with cellophane and ribbon to make it look pretty.

Make truffles sometimes and they always come out nice. I like to add some hot chilli powder to mine for an extra kick. Always use good quality chocolate though, that's the most important thing.

Whyisitsodifficult · 24/11/2017 21:35

Ive made chocolate truffles before which were surprisingly easy and made a nice gift.

Zomam · 25/11/2017 00:25

I make brownies and cookies to take to dinner with the family on Christmas Day!

rosybell · 25/11/2017 06:15

Homemade chocolate truffles are so easy and look impressive.

Homemade toffee cups. You make little cups by glazing mounds. Then make s caramel and pour in and top with either a chocolate button or some melted dairy milk. Keep in the fridge. They are delicious.

We wrap bars or boxes of chocolate with white crepe paper and decorate with buttons and felt to make it look like a snowman and gift them to the teachers

We like to melt dairy milk and pour it in little moulds.

Also, cake pops drizzled or dipped very carefully in chocolate are nice!

Teddygirlonce · 25/11/2017 09:39

Baileys chocolate cake - it's been a winner for decades in my family!

PussCatTheGoldfish · 25/11/2017 10:26

Chocolate dipped kirsh cherries, rolled in cocoa powder. I also make Christmas cookies and half dip them in melted chocolate.

Marg2k8 · 25/11/2017 13:00

I must be lazy, as I have never made chocolate gifts LOL

jacqui5366 · 25/11/2017 13:59

you cannot beat home made chocolate ganache truffles made with dairy milk, butter, cream and rolled then covered in coconut, popped in little boxes and hand tied they look very expensive.

AdaColeman · 25/11/2017 14:13

I make candied orange peel and coat in dark chocolate. It's time consuming so I only do a small batch, always delicious though.
Much quicker to make are marzipan stuffed dates, half dipped in dark chocolate, lovely at the end of a meal.

Home made peppermint creams half dipped in chocolate, and shortbread biscuits drizzled with chocolate are fun to make too.

Bars of home made rocky road using dairy milk, crunchy bars and snowballs

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/11/2017 15:42

I make chocolate fudge - it’s the recipe my mum used to make, from the Penguin cookbook, and it comes out with a texture like Scottish tablet (sugary and crunchy), instead of fudgy, and it is delicious.

dragon60 · 25/11/2017 16:30

its either homemade chocolate truffles or what the Americans seem to refer to as bark.

ha2el · 25/11/2017 16:49

I make truffles from the best quality chocolate and dust them with cocoa or grated chocolate (milk, plain and white). I might even flavour some of them with liquors for the grown ups.

Serin · 25/11/2017 16:58

We make a festive chocolate wreath for our friends.

Just a cheaply bought fir wreath with lots of dairy milks, crunchies, packets of buttons, caramacs etc all wired in. Looks (and tastes) amazing with all the shiny wrappers.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 25/11/2017 17:37

Homemade rocky road, with maltezers on the top. Yum.

Rainybohoho · 25/11/2017 17:38

We do hot chocolate spoons, mix in some glitter and gift with a mug.
