It’s hard to believe that there was once a time when all our gadgets didn’t exist and people had to live without modern essentials such as a washing machine Shock! Co-op Electrical would like to find out which electrical item you couldn’t live without, whether it’s one that helps with everyday life or a luxury item.

Here’s what Co-op Electrical has to say: “Electrical items are now so much a part of our lives that it’s easy to take them for granted. But we know that when our customers need a new washing machine, cooker or fridge-freezer, they need it quickly, which is why we offer next day delivery to most parts of the UK. Even a few days without a ‘luxury’ item like a TV or tablet can feel tough!"

Would you be lost without your laptop? Or is your TV precious to you as it can keep the DC occupied and allow you to watch Strictly Glitterball? Would you fail to function without your coffee machine? Or maybe your fancy straighteners are a necessity to battle frizz?

Whatever electrical item you would feel lost without, please share it below. Everyone who posts on the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I can't imagine life without the washing machine.

Lots of them really. My kettle, my iPad and my vacuum cleaner and floor steamer. My hot brush and hairdryer.

soozybee1 · 24/11/2017 20:16

My phone, no question

I'd be lost without my laptop, kids are still young and hubby works nights so keeps me connected with the outside world.

Washing machine. My mum always maintained that the washing machine did more to liberate women than suffrage. I thought she was talking rubbish till I became a mother and started using reusable nappies!

I cannot live without my laptop!

In terms of essentials, I couldn't manage without my fridge-freezer. Obviously I use it to store all my fresh food but, in addition, I don't drink many hot drinks, preferring water or Diet Coke. However, I really like my drinks to be cold, so always store them in the fridge, with ice in the freezer if necessary. But, overall, I would want to ensure that the meals I prepare for my family are not a health risk!

I couldn't live without my kettle. I literally cannot function until I've had a coffee first thing in the morning. After that it would be my laptop but definitely kettle is my priority!

Iphone. Now if they could only straighten my hair whilst we’re at it...

rosybell · 25/11/2017 06:13

Yes definitely my washing machine! Although if we have the basics covered I would have to say my kindle, I love it and panic if I forget it on the tube.

Unfortunately as our homecare provider mucked up our electrics in the kitchen and we can’t use our cooker - long story and we’re trying to get them to fix it - it’s the microwave

roseyposey123 · 25/11/2017 20:18
