It’s hard to believe that there was once a time when all our gadgets didn’t exist and people had to live without modern essentials such as a washing machine Shock! Co-op Electrical would like to find out which electrical item you couldn’t live without, whether it’s one that helps with everyday life or a luxury item.

Here’s what Co-op Electrical has to say: “Electrical items are now so much a part of our lives that it’s easy to take them for granted. But we know that when our customers need a new washing machine, cooker or fridge-freezer, they need it quickly, which is why we offer next day delivery to most parts of the UK. Even a few days without a ‘luxury’ item like a TV or tablet can feel tough!"

Would you be lost without your laptop? Or is your TV precious to you as it can keep the DC occupied and allow you to watch Strictly Glitterball? Would you fail to function without your coffee machine? Or maybe your fancy straighteners are a necessity to battle frizz?

Whatever electrical item you would feel lost without, please share it below. Everyone who posts on the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

It would be my laptop as it is my connection to the outside world most days

Harper39 · 24/11/2017 07:27

I’d definitely be lost without my iPad as it’s like my bible. There for me when I need quick answers, shopping and banking, keeping in contact with family and friends oh the list goes on....

I'd be lost without my phone
It's my phone, camera, music player, video streamer, Satnav, and keep in touch device!

Sammie87 · 24/11/2017 07:59

My mobile, one because I'd be lost without google and two, my absolute reason, I use my phone to take all my photos of the kids with and that is definitely something I can't live without.

As a chronic pain sufferer, I love my heated under blanket. It is a life changer. Like a giant heat pad, but without the lumps. I recommend it to anyone else who suffers from pain and I would definitely be a sadder person without it!

I couldn't live without my laptop, I'm on it 12 hours a day! Blush

jazzitup · 24/11/2017 09:05

Wanted to say T.V. but it has to be fridge freezer.

vicks276 · 24/11/2017 09:17

My iPhone and my iKettle

myboycraig · 24/11/2017 09:39

This is a tough one Hmm I would say at the moment my perfect prep machine for night feeds. It makes my life so much easier at night.

allibaby · 24/11/2017 09:53

My kettle, I drink a lot of tea and I would be lost without my kettle

Flickabella36 · 24/11/2017 10:42

Probably my iPad- I can't imagine life without it! You can do everything on it, shopping, emails, school admin, finance, banking, movies,I love it!

BooRooandTiggerToo · 24/11/2017 10:54

Whilst I'm sure that my kitchen appliances, entertainment electricals, and my WiFi router should all appear at the top of my list. To me, it is my hair straighteners that I could not live without. Think Monica from Friends The Barbados One and you'll understand why my hair straighteners are a necessity!

If we're talking essentials then it would be the fridge but with the weather so cold I'm learning towards my tumble dryer! If it's luxury items then it's phone hands down!

Tanfastic · 24/11/2017 11:02

My iPad! It's an extension of me most of the time!

Sloppychops · 24/11/2017 11:06

I'd be lost without my phone. It has all my appointments in, details of things I need to buy, birthdays and loads of other stuff.
Also, as my kids are with their dad half the week, it means I can keep in touch with them and speak to them every day.

noynoyavery · 24/11/2017 11:27

Humm would say my washing machine family of 5 and no dryer. Laptop we can use the library. But theres no way I fancy dragging my clothes out to the laundrette and back again as I do not drive.

cathyov · 24/11/2017 12:12

My laptop as I seem to be on it all the time: checking emails, finding recipes, researching things I know nothing about etc.. That is when another member of the family has not asked to borrow it!

SuzCG · 24/11/2017 12:40

Kettle - coffee IS the answer!

HELENSCRESCENT · 24/11/2017 13:29

I think it has to be the freezer as it always has back up meals for emergencys or when i dont have time to cook from scratch so dont think i could do without it.

grecka · 24/11/2017 14:08

Halogen Oven. It cooks quickly, food is well cooked. It's absolutely brilliant!

piggypoo · 24/11/2017 14:53

I couldn't live without my kettle! It's essential for me to be near a cuppa at all times, and having to wait for a kettle to boil on the hob would drive me crazy! I'm not that bothered about laptops or mobile phones, most people cannot understand my attitude when I say I'm not bothered about Facebook or Snapchat!

Aspieparent · 24/11/2017 18:21

I could never love without my phone

VickyRsuperstar · 24/11/2017 18:47

I really couldn't manage without my washing machine. With 9 messy kids the whole system falls apart when my machine breaks down! I would miss my phone and laptop, but I just wouldn't be able to keep the kids clean without a washing machine.

srobbo71 · 24/11/2017 19:03

My fridge, I could cope without a freezer as you can buy day to day and most food can be kept in the fridge for a couple of days but the thought of warm milk makes my stomach turn!

molly57 · 24/11/2017 19:35

I'd be lost without my laptop because I could not enter competitions like this.
