It’s hard to believe that there was once a time when all our gadgets didn’t exist and people had to live without modern essentials such as a washing machine Shock! Co-op Electrical would like to find out which electrical item you couldn’t live without, whether it’s one that helps with everyday life or a luxury item.

Here’s what Co-op Electrical has to say: “Electrical items are now so much a part of our lives that it’s easy to take them for granted. But we know that when our customers need a new washing machine, cooker or fridge-freezer, they need it quickly, which is why we offer next day delivery to most parts of the UK. Even a few days without a ‘luxury’ item like a TV or tablet can feel tough!"

Would you be lost without your laptop? Or is your TV precious to you as it can keep the DC occupied and allow you to watch Strictly Glitterball? Would you fail to function without your coffee machine? Or maybe your fancy straighteners are a necessity to battle frizz?

Whatever electrical item you would feel lost without, please share it below. Everyone who posts on the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

My immediate first thought was the iPad. Though it is harder to cope, day to day, when the washing machine breaks down. Decisions, decisions.

Probably the washing machine.

Dishwasher!!

With 3 children and a husband in the Forces I don’t care what anyone says a dishwasher is a household necessity and the one thing that keeps on the right side of insanity...just!!

I'd be lost without my laptop, I'm on it every spare moment. I find them really useful for finding out any information that I want.

ptak5566 · 23/11/2017 20:37

Definitely my iPhone as it keeps me in touch with so many people, I suffer with social anxiety so communicating through my phone is a great help.

Leanfun · 23/11/2017 20:45

My laptop without a doubt. It's attached to my finger!

ikkle87 · 23/11/2017 21:12

As attached to my laptop as I am I would probably say my iPhone would be the hardest to live without as I do so much on it from reading emails and blogs, checking my bank, watching youtube, taking pictures etc

I cannot live without my hand blender....odd choice i know....but that beauty has snuck sooooo many veggies into sauces, soups and gravies for my fussy 7 year old!

Emmamaryd · 23/11/2017 21:15

My iPad. Invaluable for social media shopping etc.

mrsBeverleyGoldberg · 23/11/2017 21:22

My phone. I don’t know any phone numbers.

mamof3boys · 23/11/2017 21:59

I would have said my laptop but after my washing machine recently broke down I realised I really can't live without that.

womblelancs · 23/11/2017 22:01

I think it would have to be my washing machine. I could live without a fridge or a freezer. I could definitely live without a television or a computer. However, I don't think I have the energy to wash clothes by hand.

kerryanna · 23/11/2017 22:39

My radio alarm clock - I could easily sleep til mid-morning without it and therefore lost several jobs, with a whole knock on effect on the rest of my life!

My wonderful DAB radio. If I didn't have BBC 6 Music as the background sound to my day I would probably lose my mind!

robyn297 · 23/11/2017 23:39

My slow cooker, I use it all the time, quick and easy meals that taste amazing.

ginghamstarfish · 23/11/2017 23:41

I think the single most indispensable thing must be the washing machine!

JayJay1874 · 23/11/2017 23:43

i'd have to say my laptop. staying in touch, storing all my photos, games for the wee one and shopping, few days pass without it getting well used.

Pinktilgate · 24/11/2017 00:41

Totally my iPhone!! I'm actually addicted to it!! So shameful 😂 X

DiWoo · 24/11/2017 00:45

I've been without a washing machine for a few weeks before, it's hard. I really would not like to be without my smartphone but I'd survive. The one thing I really could not do without is my fridge-freezer, we'd die of food poisoning!

cathryn1 · 24/11/2017 07:18

My phone, its my phone, camera, diary, alarm clock, boarding cards at the airport and more. I panic when the battery is low
