It’s hard to believe that there was once a time when all our gadgets didn’t exist and people had to live without modern essentials such as a washing machine Shock! Co-op Electrical would like to find out which electrical item you couldn’t live without, whether it’s one that helps with everyday life or a luxury item.

Here’s what Co-op Electrical has to say: “Electrical items are now so much a part of our lives that it’s easy to take them for granted. But we know that when our customers need a new washing machine, cooker or fridge-freezer, they need it quickly, which is why we offer next day delivery to most parts of the UK. Even a few days without a ‘luxury’ item like a TV or tablet can feel tough!"

Would you be lost without your laptop? Or is your TV precious to you as it can keep the DC occupied and allow you to watch Strictly Glitterball? Would you fail to function without your coffee machine? Or maybe your fancy straighteners are a necessity to battle frizz?

Whatever electrical item you would feel lost without, please share it below. Everyone who posts on the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

My toaster!!! It’s got an egg cooker built in and it saves me so much time. I used to only have poached egg on toast on the weekends when I had time but my toaster (its the tefal one) makes it so quick I can have eggs even when I’m in a rush.

My TV and Kettle - who doesn't love a cuppa in front of the tv.

loopyleah1985 · 21/11/2017 18:46

personally I couldn't live without my phone but essentially it would have to be my oven!

My laptop! I have no issue with getting rid of kitchen appliances - I'd just live on take aways and sandwiches! I'd be truly lost without my laptop though, it helps me get work done, keeps me entertained, answers to almost anything at the touch of a button - everyone knows if my internet has gone down because I'm the grumpiest person in the world without it.

I truly think I could make do without any of my electronic items I currently rely on if push came to shove but I think I most value my washing machine having lived without one once and it was such a pain!

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 22/11/2017 09:28

Definitely my laptop. I might as well live on a desert island if i didnt have one!! ( Well, thats how i would feel anyway - isolated)! xx

I would miss the television the most.

jhgillies · 22/11/2017 10:05

I love cooking, so my oven is essential. But I truly couldn't do without my laptop. My family lives abroad so keeping in touch with them is always at my fingertips.

MrsBee77 · 22/11/2017 12:08

I'd be lost without my GHDs!
I have terrible hair and I straighten it at least once every day. I would survive without every other electrical item - even my phone! - as long as I still had a decent pair of hair straighteners Blush

kingclaude · 22/11/2017 13:16

my washing machine. Id be lost with out it
wouldn't fancy bashing my washing on a stone.

dave3man · 22/11/2017 14:59

I think that must be my laptop...i'm using it right now !

laurapotz · 22/11/2017 15:24

I have become so reliant on my laptop. It's second nature just to have it by me (or on me) when i'm on the sofa. It's very easy to forget the days before you could look something up 'just like that'!

pattiselmabouvier · 22/11/2017 15:27

Hard to choose between washing machine or the TV (In The Night Garden is the only way I get to do some tidying/breathe for a minute)

WinnerWinnerChickenDinner0 · 22/11/2017 16:09

Simple- my kettle. Could never start my day without a cuppa Grin

kaycm25 · 22/11/2017 16:56

My ipad, it keeps me informed, easy to use, helps to entertain the kids at times as well.

Butteredparsn1ps · 22/11/2017 17:28

Another vote for washing machine. Most other things I could find an alternative to if I had to, but I draw the line at doing heavy laundry, pants and dog beds by hand, Grin

katieskatie82 · 22/11/2017 18:48

defiantly my laptop. my whole life is on there. haha

StealthNinjaMum · 22/11/2017 19:22

I couldn't live without my combined washing machine drier. On the couple of occasions a year I take my duvets to the launderette I hate it!

Summerdays2014 · 22/11/2017 20:51

Washing machine and dishwasher. Couldn’t bare to be without either.

Minnibix · 22/11/2017 21:20

It is so hard to choose, but I think it would have to be my laptop, I use it to Skype instead of phone, and for watching TV programmes & films, reading and much much more

Blondie1982 · 22/11/2017 21:23

My iPad x

Dessallara · 22/11/2017 21:52

Washing machine. Lived without it for a few weeks and it was really really hard
