It’s hard to believe that there was once a time when all our gadgets didn’t exist and people had to live without modern essentials such as a washing machine Shock! Co-op Electrical would like to find out which electrical item you couldn’t live without, whether it’s one that helps with everyday life or a luxury item.

Here’s what Co-op Electrical has to say: “Electrical items are now so much a part of our lives that it’s easy to take them for granted. But we know that when our customers need a new washing machine, cooker or fridge-freezer, they need it quickly, which is why we offer next day delivery to most parts of the UK. Even a few days without a ‘luxury’ item like a TV or tablet can feel tough!"

Would you be lost without your laptop? Or is your TV precious to you as it can keep the DC occupied and allow you to watch Strictly Glitterball? Would you fail to function without your coffee machine? Or maybe your fancy straighteners are a necessity to battle frizz?

Whatever electrical item you would feel lost without, please share it below. Everyone who posts on the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

My oven, it’s on every day cooking dinner for the family and baking yummy treats for the weekend!

shewhomustbeEbayed · 16/11/2017 19:55

Washing machine and fridge freezer but I also now find the microwave indispensible, they all make the lives of mums so much easier.

arat · 16/11/2017 20:03

Hmm, tricky - either the laptop or the washing machine!

Giraffey1 · 16/11/2017 20:27

Ooh, tricky. On balance, I think the washing machine as I’ve had one since forever, and when the last one broke down I realised how much we relied on it!

alsproject · 16/11/2017 20:43

I'd be lost without my phone. There are so many friends and family living far away that I can keep in touch with so it makes the world a smaller place

RiSo · 16/11/2017 20:47

It would be my phone. It has my photos, social media obviously, but also it holds all my ongoing lists of things that need doing, shopping lists, dates etc. I also need regular access to email so my phone saves me having to open the laptop several times a day too.

FlowerPotMum · 16/11/2017 20:49

I think I'm going to say my phone charger! It gets used all the blinking time.. and I'd be so lost without my phone!

sealight123 · 16/11/2017 21:07

I would be absolutely lost without my laptop
I do my work on it, emails, food shopping, Christmas shopping, watch telly, do my daughters homework with her....the list is endless!!!

Carebear1357 · 16/11/2017 21:11

Dishwasher, no contest!

littleme96 · 16/11/2017 21:24

My laptop - I pretty much run my life from it! Social media, working from home, shopping, banking. It would be so much harder without it.

Beeziekn33ze · 16/11/2017 21:31

My simple little microwave - which went flash, bang, wallop last week. Must replace, I need my heated back cushions for my lower back pain!

PutYourBracesTogether · 16/11/2017 21:39

I can't imagine living without my washing machine.

bcd2009 · 16/11/2017 21:39

My phone, besides accessing all sorts of information, entertainment and communication it also has all our families' dates and appointments. Without getting reminders for these I would be completely lost.

gemsi · 16/11/2017 21:44

I think it would have to be the television because I love to unwind of an evening after the little one is in bed with the soaps and my favourite programmes. My daughter also loves to watch CBeebies on it so it's something we all enjoy as a family.

ADayGivingMeHope · 16/11/2017 21:49

Toss up between my washing machine which is very well used in our house and my phone which is not only a way to communicate with my family & friends but it’s my calendar, reminders, alarm. I’d really struggle to remember the simplest of things without my phone! 😬

mummymummums · 16/11/2017 22:05

My mobile phone if that counts. If not, my hair straighteners.

PussCatTheGoldfish · 16/11/2017 22:16

I can't decide between cooker, phone and electric blanket on my bed.

My favourite is definitely the electric blanket. The other two are more practical 'can't live withouts'.

sweir1 · 16/11/2017 22:18

Definitely my laptop

LeeR1985 · 16/11/2017 22:31

Either my phone or my PC. I use both on a daily basis and use both of them to stay in touch with my friends and family around the world.

lostheloveofmylife · 16/11/2017 23:06

My filter coffee machine. I set it every night before I go to bed. It really helps me to get out of bed knowing that the coffee is ready!

sbruin1122 · 16/11/2017 23:07

my tablet!

MiddleClassProblem · 16/11/2017 23:10

Surely it has to be a fridge freezer! It’s a necessity!

But if we are talking luxury. Probably my iPhone. Which I’m on right now...

IceBearRocks · 16/11/2017 23:14

This is not difficult!

My Cloud 9 hair straighteners!

Seriously I was an unkempt kid and teenager. As soon as they about .... I looked normal. I fitted in more!
My hair is not curly and not straight it is meh!!!! It won't even blow dry straight as if I even have a glass of water is goes wonky!

Praise the Lord for hair straighteners!

jimcocallis · 16/11/2017 23:26

Light switch for one. Electricic plug/socket for another. Without those nothing else works. Dark age again.
