Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

My faves are:

The little mermaid - first film I saw at the cinema.

The emperors new groove

The lion king

And more recently moana.

Elisa1976 · 14/10/2017 12:13

Particularly at this time of year, it has to be the Nightmare Before Christmas - brilliant story, lovingly crafted animation and some of the catchiest tunes of any animation!
All the family love it.

HerRoyalFattyness · 14/10/2017 13:17

Got to be shrek.
We love it and I know all the words to it

alcin · 14/10/2017 17:20

Ds1 Loves the croods, ds2 love any of the ice ages but mine has to be corpse bride!

MummyL1411 · 14/10/2017 17:39

My two boys are starting to watch films more successfully know, still not a whole film but getting there! They love the shrek films and anything with minions in is a big hit. I’ve recently introduced him to toy story which was my favourite growing up, he loved it and wants to buzz lightyear.

gemmie797 · 14/10/2017 20:54

My sons love Wreck it Ralph and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

pattiselmabouvier · 14/10/2017 21:14

We all love Mulan in our house! Son is only 19 months but we’ll have him belting out “I’ll make a man out of you” before long with me and my husband!

winewolfhowls · 14/10/2017 22:39

The sword in the stone. As a child I was both horrified yet bewitched by the battle between madam mim and merlin and my four year old was equally mesmerised when I showed him recently. I just love the quality of the voice actors in the older movies

GetKnitted · 14/10/2017 23:38

My Neighbour Totoro!

minesapintofwine · 15/10/2017 09:00

I love the Pixar films-Cars, Toy Story, Finding Nemo. They have something for adults and children alike.

Theimpossiblegirl · 15/10/2017 12:09

Finding Nemo never fails to keep us all entertained. It's the one we go back to if a duvet day is required.

elizaco · 15/10/2017 14:21

My favourite animated film is Up. Those early scenes of Karl and his wife throughout their marriage are heart-warming.

rhinosuze · 15/10/2017 15:40

Inside out beyond any doubt, can watch it over and over,we love it in our house! I still love the lion king from when I was young though and toy story

CMOTDibbler · 15/10/2017 16:58

Jayfee · 15/10/2017 19:15

Toy story and Fnding Nemo

Doreah · 15/10/2017 19:53

My absolute favourites are Anastasia, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. But I also love All Dogs go to Heaven and The Sword in the Stone.

clopper · 15/10/2017 20:16

My favourites are Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King , as much for the music as the visuals.I also love up but the first part makes me cry every time.

MerlinsBeard87 · 15/10/2017 21:03

My ds loves toy story. The first time he saw it he couldn't believe the toys were speaking, and we still laugh that he calls The character Ham Pam. We've watched it so many times now but it still makes me sad to imagine my children growing up and outgrowing favourite toys

Peoniesandcats · 15/10/2017 22:53

Up - it definitely pulls my heart strings

CopperPan · 15/10/2017 23:30

The Lego Movie was my favourite recent animated film. As a child I loved Dumbo.
