Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We love the Nightmare Before Christmas. It's perfect for this time of year Grin

Badders08 · 13/10/2017 07:54

My ds2 loves Tom and Jerry! 😁
Other big hits include the older Disney films like jungle book and robin hood and the how to train your Dragon films.
Recently he has enjoyed sing and home

Maysong · 13/10/2017 07:58

We have always enjoyed The little Mermaid,The Lion king, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin from Disney.
Our children were small when they first came out and going to see them at the cinema as a family. We never tire of them.
I have fond memories of the children acting out the stories together and singing along to the songs in the car.

keeperofthetrolls · 13/10/2017 08:13

My DD and I currently love Moana. We like to put the subtitles on and have a sing along.

As a family though our favourite films involve the minions. Despicable Me 1&2 or Minions movie dont mind which.

We turn all the lights out, break out the popcorn and all cuddle up together.

In december we do it every night with our christmas movie countdown.

DS is currently obsessed with the Lion King and Monsters Inc. For DD, it had to be Frozen! More recently, she's enjoyed Home, and Gnomeo and Juliet! The latter has given her a weird liking for Elton John songs! 😂

kateandme · 13/10/2017 11:46

dinsey all the way.lion king.aladin.etc etc all the classics

Thirdload · 13/10/2017 11:49

Mine is obsessed with Lego and the Lego Ninjago film was a firm favourite.

GhostsToMonsoon · 13/10/2017 12:36

Probably Finding Dory or Despicable Me. DS has started playing a game called Minion Rush and has become addicted.

PoppyPopcorn · 13/10/2017 14:30

Has to be Aladdin - an oldie but a goodie! Love a bit of Frozen too.

MrsMoggy · 13/10/2017 15:33

Studio Ghibli are fantastic animators. Howls moving castle is
One of my favourites. Also love Disney and Pixar and particularly films that mix animation with real
Acting like enchanted and space jam

popikaoana · 13/10/2017 16:41

I love Ice Age, the Minions and all the remakes after the books of my childhood: Cinderella, Snow-white, Beauty and the Beast. I'd love to see more of these.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 13/10/2017 18:10

Studio Ghibli films are pretty much the only animations we watch now the kids aren't so kiddy any more but I adore Rise of the Guardians when it's on, and we're keeping an eye out for Lion King as DD swears she's never seen it, plus we still go to the cinema to watch Despicable Me sequels!

Earthmoon · 13/10/2017 18:18

Liong King never gets old

PuckeredAhole · 13/10/2017 19:12

I wasn't sure whether Trolls would be any good but I watched it with my children and we all really enjoyed it!

Byrdie · 13/10/2017 19:49

Ah well, disney is up there obviously. It tends to change which one but we also love sing, trolls and gnomeo and julliet! A film all of us love to watch together is totoro. Such a cute film.

iklboo · 13/10/2017 20:11

Oh and Arthur Christmas is our family Xmas Eve film:

'THREE pieces of sticky tape! THREE!'

Time4adrink · 13/10/2017 20:40

We love wreck it Ralph, frozen and the Despicable me movies. Also anything with Scooby Do.

BloodyWorried · 13/10/2017 22:39

The Aristocats is our firm fave: surely every body wants to be a cat?! It's musical without being a musical

sashet21 · 13/10/2017 22:45

My little ones love finding nemo and finding dory

Sid98 · 13/10/2017 23:42

My kids love shrek

fivekidsonemum · 14/10/2017 04:47

My 5 kids have 3 favourite films we watch all the time -
The Jungle Book - my 5 kids love to stomp round singing the Elephants March and The Bear Necessaries.
Monsters Inc - they laugh so loud at Mike and think he's really silly
Toy Story - they love the fact the toys come to life & my youngest two are convinced their toys do at night too!

Nothing better than cuddling up under a quilt on a Sunday with kids films and a feast of cake, sweets & milkshakes Grin

Shiraznowplease · 14/10/2017 05:43

We love Trolls, minions and frozen (actually dc like frozen if I hear let it hold one more time I may go mad!)

Feargalthecat · 14/10/2017 08:04

Wall E is our family favourite it’s such a lovely film, closely followed by Lost and Found.

imreallyamermaid · 14/10/2017 08:19

JPTB · 14/10/2017 10:41

As much for the music as the animation we love The Aristocats, Jungle Book, Toy Story.
My favourite series visually are the Ice Ages and Nemo. I also love Shrek.
