Now that the nights are drawing in, and with half term around the corner, movie nights can be a great way to spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the warm indoors. To celebrate their new collection of Animated movies, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your family’s favourite animation films, both new and old.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This October, Sky Cinema has put together our biggest ever collection of animated movies to brighten up your Autumn. The collection includes a wide range of animated movies, from the latest hits such as Sing and Kubo and the Two Strings to Disney-Pixar movies like The Incredibles or the Ice Age movies. All available to watch whenever you want on demand.”

Has a recent release, such as Secret Life of Pets or Trolls, become a firm favourite? Or, do you love the nostalgia of passing on a classic like Fantasia? Whether your family prefer the new ones or the classics, or both, Sky Cinema would like to hear about your favourite animation films - and why they manage to make it onto the list.

All who post below about their family’s favourite animation films will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I'm a big softie for Animated films so there's not many I don't like but my favourites when growing up were "Beauty and the beast","Aladdin" and "the little mermaid" and more recent ones I like "frozen" and "trolls". Though having 4 boys they've loved a mixture of films like "the incredibles", "flushed away", "Nemo" and "despicable me". In all honesty I could go on with a list full of films that they like, or if they're on they will just sit there and watch them.

A firm favourite in our house is up :)

BlessThisMess · 16/10/2017 07:39

My 16yo DD is obsessed with Moana. My 12yo DD is loving Rise of the Guardians at the moment - watched at least once a week.

blackistheneworange · 16/10/2017 08:07

A family favourite is a Nightmare Before Christmas- to be watched from now up till the big day!

Mummy2aRockstar · 16/10/2017 10:25

I love sharing films from my childhood with my son, our current favourites are muppets Christmas carol and Aladdin. Despicable me is a firm favourite because of the minions and is played weekly.

lollylaus · 16/10/2017 10:32

Trolls and Moana! My little girl watches these all of the time!!!

Gazelda · 16/10/2017 11:18

Sing! So many lovable characters, so many fab tunes!

custardcream1000 · 16/10/2017 11:19

With Halloween and Christmas fast approuching we enjoy watching The nightmare before Christmas.

I love sharing films from my childhood

Same! First time DD sat enchanted by Fantasia (which had taken absolutely forever to come out on DVD) I nearly cried I was so happy Blush

Getsorted21 · 16/10/2017 13:02

I love the old Disney classics, The little mermaid, Sleeping Beauty. The first film my son ever sat through was Frozen & we would have to watch every week & listen to let it go daily. His new faves are The Lego movie, Moana & anything with dinosaurs.

tillymint21 · 16/10/2017 17:43

It's all the vintage Disney in our house - never fails!

AliBunny · 16/10/2017 20:23

Toy story is my favourite- great for adults and kids alike. Can't go wrong with the Disney classics either!

Time40 · 16/10/2017 21:32

My favourite is Watership Down (the original 1970s version - I have a feeling there has been a remake)

NextIndia · 16/10/2017 21:47

I really like the Despicable Me and Hotel Transylvania films. I think it must be because the main characters are loveable rogues in them both! I also have a soft spot for Brave because I’m Scottish. The soundtrack makes me tear up a bit.

doleritedinosaur · 16/10/2017 22:53

My childhood favourite movie is The Last Unicorn but its still a bit old for DS so we watch a mixture of new animation mixed with old.
Today we all loved Frozen and last week DS really liked Mulan, its amazing to enjoy movies I loved 25 years or so ago with him.

Our favourites are the Despicable Me movies which we enjoy a lot and like seeing in the cinema.

CherriesInTheSnow · 16/10/2017 23:21

Oh god I love Disney

CherriesInTheSnow · 16/10/2017 23:21

RebeccaJane12 · 17/10/2017 07:33

We love UP and Toy Story! You've got to love them when they are on the tele 3 times a day!Grin

danson16 · 17/10/2017 08:52

My favourite animations are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Frozen, Moana, Anastasia, The Road to El Dorado, The Little Mermaid and Lilo and Stitch. Big fan of animation films.

Wargghhhh · 17/10/2017 09:40

As a family we love Despicable Me - so funny!! My daughter loves all the Disney classics also - Frozen is an absolute classic too now, very clever film with an amazing soundtrack.... and now I've got 'Let it Go' in my head... doh!

SuzCG · 17/10/2017 11:03

Disney films definitely - Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, Lion King, Snow White. The oldies are definitely the best in my book!

AveEldon · 17/10/2017 11:55

My current fave is Song of the Sea

Cagliostro · 17/10/2017 12:04

I love song of the sea! Secret of kells was great too. Apparently they are doing a new film soon about wolves

eightyeightmilesperhour · 17/10/2017 12:58

We absolutely love Up, both Despicable Mes, Brave and Toy Story 3. We love that they appeal to both adults and kids. Sunday afternoons, snuggled on the sofa with popcorn and crisps, watching one of these is just wonderful. I'd rather do that than go out.

From the oldies - we love The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Shrek and the original Jungle Book. It just brings back memories for me, watching it as a child. I still know all the words to all the songs!

magentastardust · 17/10/2017 15:36

We love the new ones like Moana and Trolls, but we also love Cars, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Lion King. If it is something that we can all cosy up to and watch together its a winner for this time of year!
