My little girl LOVES MLP!!!

Rainbow Dash is her favourite pony.
My little girl thought the movie looked great, a little bit scary, but the cake 'splat' at the end was funny and was her favourite scene.
Yes, I think we will go and see it, it looks like classic MLP - friendship strength helps everypony

~ Are your children My Little Pony fans? If so, who’s their favourite character and what’s their favourite scene from the trailer?

She used to be a big fan. Now not so much. "I liked the part where I saw the princess who tried to destroy the land. And my very favorite pony was the villain girl". DD is scary!

~ What did you think of the trailer?

"I think it was quite nice and all. The cake clean-up was so hilarious".

~ Do you think your children will see the movie?

"Yeah I do". I do too. Her "whole entire class" is talking about the movie according to her. I'm a tiny bit sad there are so many more named male characters. So much of what girls watch is all male characters and one female. But it seems you can't have an all female movie.

DD 3 loves this trailer and she is so excited to see it when it comes out. Her favourite is twilight sparkle. She likes the scene with the mermaid ponies and already has a mermaid pony mash em! I think the trailer looks ok, not exactly my film.of choice but we will definitely go and see it 😊

~ Are your children My Little Pony fans? If so, who’s their favourite character and what’s their favourite scene from the trailer?

Yes a massive fan. She likes Twilight Spare best normally. She loved the trailer and in particular the cake bit and when Spike falls off the board.

~ What did you think of the trailer?
I enjoyed it. Seems like a fun children's film

~ Do you think your children will see the movie?
Yes definitely. I didn't know about it before this thread so was glad to spot it.

~ Are your children My Little Pony fans? If so, who’s their favourite character and what’s their favourite scene from the trailer?
DD is a huge MLP fan and is very excited about the movie. Her favourite pony is Twilight Sparkle, and her favourite scene from the trailer was Pinkie Pie screaming while falling through the air, then changing to a laugh halfway down!

I thought it looked like a good idea for a wet October half term afternoon! DD and I will definitely go, probably with a group of friends!

DS is NOT a my little pony fan, but he did go through a phase of liking it a few years ago so I showed him the trailer anyway. He enjoyed the "ohhh, I love pie" line Grin

I think Pinkie Pie was the one he used to like. I'm just still horrified that my little ponies are full of attitude these days. I miss the unthreatening, sickly sweet 80s version. So comforting. Blush

Anyway, he thought the trailer was ok - he said he wouldn't want h it at the cinema because he's not a fan but the trailer would tempt him
To watch it at home on tv.

PugwallsSummer · 04/10/2017 20:50

My DD5 has been a My Little Pony fan since she was 2 and has seen the 4 "equestria girls" movies, which she loves and revisits frequently. She listens to the various Pony soundtracks daily on Spotify.

Her favorite pony is Fluttershy because "she cares for all animals and creatures" but she also loves Pinky-Pie. Her favorite scene from the trailer was the cake landing on Twighlight, which she found hilarious and demanded to watch over and over again.

I thought the trailer looked fun and engaging.

We have already made plans to see the film with a group of school friends during half term (including, what she calls, "bronies"). She has been excited since first spotting the poster when walking past the cinema into town (we hadn't seen it advertised in any other format).

theresamustgo · 04/10/2017 21:57

DD 12 and DS 9 have never shown a glimmer of interest in MLP. DD and DS liked the trailer, but they like anything that moves in a screen really. I was Intrigued to see it was not 3D and looks quite Disney old style. The script and gags are predictable as usual but it looks lively enough, dynamic, pretty. the DC would be happy to see it over half term. Might do, if we get some cut price tickets.

talulahbelle · 05/10/2017 06:55

My daughter loves Fluttershy. She was amazed and awed by the trailer - but then she is only 3.5! We will be seeing it, but not until it comes to the cheap Movies for Juniors option.

She liked the underwater bits in the trailer. I thought it was OK, not my taste but i'm not the target audience.

BenHurrsSandal · 05/10/2017 07:52

My dd (6) really loves MLP and Rarity is her favourite. She loved the trailer and her favourite scene was with the mermaid.

For me it was the usual MLP/kids film style which I will watch with my dd's but isn't one I'll particularly enjoy. We probably will go to see this in half term.

Fabianthefabulous · 05/10/2017 08:01

My 6yr old DD is a fan of MLP, her favourite changes regularly, at the moment it is Fluttershy and Applejack.
Her favourite part of the trailer was when Pinkie Pie shot sweeties at one of the bad guys Smile
We will definitely be going to see it when it comes out, DD has been asking to go since she first heard about it earlier this year.

Polyanthus · 05/10/2017 08:27

I watched this with my niece. She's 5 and I've just given her a big box of mlp from the attic - my dd used to love them too.

Her favourite is Rainbow Dash and she definitely wants to see the movie - I will see if my DD will take her!!

GorgeousLadyOfWrangling · 05/10/2017 09:11

What have I done to deserve seeing this?
You should be paying me.
My children have no discernible taste.
I will be going at the weekend and hopefully sleeping through it.
IKEA meatballs to the lot of them.
The only question will be, is it going to be as bad as Happy Family, Smurfs 3 or will it be a one-horse race for Worst Kids Movie Of The Year? I hate you all.

kateandme · 05/10/2017 10:30

brilliant trailor but I cant help my thoughts being taken back to...Is that the same palace as the one in aladin and the jasmin balcony scenes hehe!
back to the point its looking fab.

ImogenTubbs · 05/10/2017 10:46

Yup! DD 4yo is a massive MLP and Equestria Girls fan and we will definitely be going to see this. I loved MLP when I was little and I think I still do, so I don't mind watching it with her. Actually secretly I think I'm quite looking forward to it!

Her favourite varies from Pinkie Pie to Fluttershy. I actually think Pinkie Pie is an understated genius, and I also think Rainbow Dash is a rare role model for little girls as someone who is completely comfortable with being strong and awesome. Girls are so often taught to downplay their strengths.

Great trailer.

1969angep · 05/10/2017 15:03

My DS (6) liked the trailer but thought they were all a bit squeaky voiced lol. He loved it when the big cake landed layer on layer and the Pony popped out of the top. I wouldn't say he has a favourite character but he really liked the one that created the rainbow!

Memom · 05/10/2017 16:13

My daughter (5) loves My Little Pony, her favourite is Rainbow Dash. She was thrilled to be asked to watch the trailer but thought it was the most terrifying thing she had ever seen! She thought it probably had a happy ending but seemed like it had too much bad in it. Bang goes the planned trip to the cinema to see it Confused

Rosehips · 05/10/2017 18:18

Interested in ponies but not a big fan. 5 year old is easily scared even with anything with mild peril so will not be watching

CheeseAtFourpence · 05/10/2017 18:39

DD (6) says she loves it and wants to watch it. She loves MLP and said she gave the trailer 10/10. She liked the bit with the squashed balloon and the cake.

It's on our list of things to watch.

momo142 · 05/10/2017 19:34

Dd (5) is a big My Little Pony fan! Her favourite character is Twilight Sparkle.

Her favourite part of the trailer was Spike saying "what's going on?!" as a puffer fish.

I thought the trailer looked good, it seemed to keep to the spirit of the TV series whilst introducing some fun new characters.

We're definitely going to go and see it! Dd can't wait!

llewejk · 05/10/2017 20:44

My little girl loves Rainbow Dash! She loved the bits with Spike in and when the pony came out of the cake. She was very excited to see the full movie ans was asking when she could watch it.

My daughter was a fan already but definitely wants to see this. I thought it looked exciting too.

Havetohaveanewchufffingaccount · 05/10/2017 23:18

Yes yes, my children love my little pony. Even the 2 year old, I am planning on taking my 3 and 4 year old to watch the film!

My daughter loves My Little Pony. Started watching when she was nine, she’s now almost 12 and still a huge fan. She loved the trailer and is hugely excited. Hoping our local cinema will be doing a autism friendly viewing.

Fun fact - Rainbow Dash is also the voice of Blythe Baxter. I have no idea who Blythe Baxter is but looked appropriately enthralled when she told me 15,000 times Grin
