Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

So glad I am a woman and therefore equipped to look after my child (with the added bonus of being able to use dettol!)

I got bear, btw.

WindyWednesday · 25/09/2017 17:05

Apparently I'm an eagle. 🤔

Motherofterriers · 25/09/2017 17:11

I'm a bear

2littlemoos · 25/09/2017 17:15

I'm a bear and it's pretty damn accurate!

1wokeuplikethis · 25/09/2017 17:16

That was a hideous test. Who came up with the questions? Im a bear. But also I'm annoyed.

OhHolyFuck · 25/09/2017 17:20

Also an eagle 🐥

SandBlue · 25/09/2017 17:20

Bear. But the babyproofing question was a random selection. Where is the "move tgecreally precious stuff and let them get on with it?" Not everyone hits the shops.

Bufferingkisses · 25/09/2017 17:22

I got bear. Intrigued to know how a parenting quiz became a comment on my attributes as a friend by the end. Very odd.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 25/09/2017 17:25

This was a bit random and for some questions I just had to pick an answer (bit necessarily an accurate one).

I know it's just for fun though so in the spirit of it all - I'm an Eagle! Smile

turkeyboots · 25/09/2017 17:26

Elephant. The grey and wrinkly part is right at least!

EsmeeMerlin · 25/09/2017 17:27

Bear apparently, although for some of the questions I had to just pick the most likely. Baby proofing for example we never bought anything for! Just moved anything dangerous out of our son's reach.

I think I am pretty laid back as a parent.

Ylvamoon · 25/09/2017 17:30

An other BEAR... wondering how many animals are there?

PurpleGoose · 25/09/2017 17:35

Eagle

Like several others have said though, for some of the questions I had to pick the closest answer rather than an accurate one.

AdaColeman · 25/09/2017 17:39

Eagle here!
Great graphics!

StepAwayFromCake · 25/09/2017 17:43

Another Bear here.

My life is enriched Hmm

WeeMadArthur · 25/09/2017 17:45

Eagle apparently, would be nice if you could see the definition of the other types as well.

ShatnersBassoon · 25/09/2017 17:50

Eagle, but the reason didn't seem to tally with my answers or me. What a truly enlightening experience.

georgedawes · 25/09/2017 17:52

Apparently I am an Eagle too!

Gazelda · 25/09/2017 17:57

I’m an eagle. I don’t feel like an eagle?

TracyKNixon · 25/09/2017 17:57

I'm an eagle! .... The eagle mother always has an eye on what's about to happen. Going to rain? You always got a brolly in your bag. Got the sniffles? Here's a hankie. You're also brilliant at watching out for your children from a distance.

Quite true!

GinGeum · 25/09/2017 17:58

I'm an eagle! I am a bit of an organisation freak which seems to match the eagle description...

AnimalAddict · 25/09/2017 17:59

I got elephant :)

shellywkd · 25/09/2017 18:05

I'm an Eagle and they are dead right when my daughter plays cricket my bag is full of wet wipes, plasters, water and snacks.

CopperPan · 25/09/2017 18:05

I'm an eagle, lots of us here it seems! I do like being prepared and don't like to helicopter too much.

AGnu · 25/09/2017 18:06

I'm another non-baby-proofing bear who's wondering what my parenting skills have to do with my friendship abilities, or indeed what Dettol have to do with animals! Confused
