Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

I'm an eagle, but I'm not sure I am because I never have anything in my bag. I might have a used tissue lol!

liz1970 · 25/09/2017 21:00

I am a bear :)

starlight36 · 25/09/2017 21:00

I am a Bear as well. Probably quite accurate.

pfcpompeysarah · 25/09/2017 21:02

I'm a bear, the comments pretty much summed me up actually.

lovewatchingrainfall · 25/09/2017 21:02

Some of these did make me laugh: so thank you.

And in return I will tell you I am an Eagle

Emmap12 · 25/09/2017 21:02

Another bear here...can I go and hibernate?!

MAForster · 25/09/2017 21:05

Eagle, as expected

queenoftheschoolrun · 25/09/2017 21:08

I'm a bear and the description sums up my character perfectly despite the bizarre questions and answers. Quite impressed!

sunshinewey · 25/09/2017 21:08

Result: Bear

arat · 25/09/2017 21:09

Elephant for me - hmm! Not one to share with DH!

CheeseEMouse · 25/09/2017 21:15

A bear. Who knew?

foxessocks · 25/09/2017 21:23

Elephant

Catmadroo · 25/09/2017 21:27

Monkey, couldn't see some of the questions accurately so not sure how accurate my result is, and I seem to be the only Monkey result.

cheekychicken24 · 25/09/2017 21:27

I think it's flawed - I came out as monkey, the fun mum Confused

Theimpossiblegirl · 25/09/2017 21:28

I'm an eagle. It's true, I am known for having all manner of crap useful stuff in my large bag, so prepared for most eventualities.

Jesswoods1992 · 25/09/2017 21:32

I got monkey! You're the fun mum - if there's an easy, fun way to do something you'll find it. That doesn't mean you can't get serious. You do know that the best way to get your kid to do something is to make a game of it.

This sounds just like me :)

boobybirdsworth · 25/09/2017 21:32

I'm a bear, I don't mind that I've seen the nature programmes lol

dadshere · 25/09/2017 21:35

Elephant! Not happy about that, I see myself more as a lioness!

tia3456 · 25/09/2017 21:48

I'm a bear, pretty much sums me up!

purplepandas · 25/09/2017 21:53

Elephant here.

towser44 · 25/09/2017 21:54

A bear :-)

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 25/09/2017 21:55

I am the eagle!!

'The eagle mother always has an eye on what's about to happen. Going to rain? You always got a brolly in your bag. Got the sniffles? Here's a hankie. You're also brilliant at watching out for your children from a distance'.

I am quite discreet but nosy enough to keep on eye on everything so i would agree to be fair! xx

TheMasterNotMargarita · 25/09/2017 22:00

An Eagle.
But there was no option for none of the above so I'm not sure its entirely accurate.

BigGreenOlives · 25/09/2017 22:01

I’m an elephant which I’m fine with. I’ve watched hours of videos on FB of baby elephants being rescued by mothers & aunts.

PickAChew · 25/09/2017 22:08

Eagle, apparently.

Well, yeah, you should see the backpack full of stuff I carry. Having kids with SN does this to you!
