Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

Im a bear.

hairygodmother · 23/10/2017 13:06

Bear. Although not entirely sure that some of this quiz was written by someone who has actually had to spend any time looking after children in all their raw reality ...

lupa123 · 23/10/2017 21:32

Yet another bear here.

luanda111 · 24/10/2017 11:17

Monkey Mum :D
You're the fun mum - if there's an easy, fun way to do something you'll find it. That doesn't mean you can't get serious. You do know that the best way to get your kid to do something is to make a game of it.

titbumwillypoo · 24/10/2017 15:13

Bear

CheeseAtFourpence · 24/10/2017 15:35

I’m a bear 🐻

MigratingandMad · 24/10/2017 22:54

Eagle, here! Completely agree with the 'watching from a distance' aspect - gotta let them fall so they know how good it feels to get up again.

Ak13zd03 · 25/10/2017 14:51

So I'm an eagle quite happy with that nothing wrong with being super organised and supportive love being a mum it's the most amazing job in the world and stressful lol

GinYummy · 25/10/2017 16:01

I am an eagle. Ironic because i hate birds.

Estraya · 25/10/2017 17:41

It seems I'm a bear. I'm ok with that and my kids would be very happy! Brave is one of my favourite Disney films too. Smile

fartypantsmummy · 25/10/2017 20:42

Elephant - that's cool and pretty accurate actually!

hmmwhatatodo · 26/10/2017 09:06

I came out as an elephant. Some of the questions were tricky, like the baby proofing one as I didn’t really fit any of the answers and the walking to school alone got me because I could have ticked more than one box! I am definitely the type who doesn’t rush over as soon as a child falls over. Less fuss equals less drama all round in my book!

dilydaly · 26/10/2017 15:01

I'm an Eagle and couldn't agree more, always prepared ! :D

Caillou · 26/10/2017 15:49

Apparently I am an Eagle Smile

Maisiesaves · 26/10/2017 17:42

It's confirmed. I truly am a Mama Bear! ;) Accurate description too!

iloveitalia · 27/10/2017 21:09

Another elephant here too!

HerRoyalFattyness · 28/10/2017 19:56

I'm a mama bear.

I'm a monkey. Though if I had had the option for soft-play my answer would have been not in a soft-play. I've been twice in four and a half years.

ZuzuSa · 29/10/2017 23:16

Bear! I definitely see myself as Momma Bear hehe.

alibubbles · 31/10/2017 13:14

Elephant, very silly quiz with no realistic answers such as " none of the above" as is in my parenting book!

Annimousey · 31/10/2017 21:16

Eagle, here.

Hanhan28 · 01/11/2017 07:26

Looks like I’m one of the very few who got monkey 🙈

Birnamwood · 01/11/2017 09:22

Elephant 🐘

Some of the options for the answers were a bit random for me so picked the closest one

EllieMumsnet · 02/11/2017 15:28

Congratulations to @voyager50 for winning the prize draw! Smile
