Dettol has launched a quiz on Mumsnet in partnership with their new ‘Protect like a Mother’ campaign. Have a go and let us know what you think of your result!

Here’s what Dettol has to say: “We know that a mother’s protection of her child is unconditional and just like an animal in the wild, she will do whatever it takes to create a safe environment for her family. We provide mums with that same unconditional protection for the whole family throughout the home.”

Any nature documentary will tell you that mothers in the wild are not to be crossed when it comes to their young. However, they all have their own individual styles of protection. Take the quiz and find out what type of animal mum you’re most like! Do you protect your child like an Elephant? Or are you more like a monkey? Or even a lion?! Have a go and come back here and let us know what you are. Do you agree with the result? Whatever kind of parent you turn out to be in the wild, we would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Everyone who posts on this thread, after taking the quiz will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

Apparently I'm an elephant.

But I'm not a mother. Or indeed a big user of Dettol. I am quite keen on winning £300, though.

I'm a bear! Seems fair enough although I thought I'd be less hands on...

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 25/09/2017 18:15

CaffeineBomb · 25/09/2017 18:16

I got elephant but for some of the answers just had to pick the closest. Didn't buy much to do with babyproofing tbh

maryandbuzz1 · 25/09/2017 18:19

0000G · 25/09/2017 18:23

An elephant? Sounds about right!

minceandpotatoes · 25/09/2017 18:24

I'm a bear and I'm happy with that!
The description at the end was actually quite accurate, even though some of the questions didn't have an obvious answer for me.

Namethecat · 25/09/2017 18:25

I'm a bear. Children obviously need to be protected but they also need to learn. Sometimes that means a fall, or a hurt, but that in itself is a lesson. This is where the parent makes the decision what is safe or not. Going towards fire - not. Climbing up something not too high is perhaps a struggle for a toddler but the achievement when they manage it is a lesson well learnt.

WelshMumof1 · 25/09/2017 18:25

Apparently I'm a lion! Fun questions.

prwilson · 25/09/2017 18:30
