We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

Decent fruit and veg, good bakery and weekly offers on lots of non-food things you didn't know you wanted.

glenka · 08/09/2017 16:25

We love all of their breads and cakes, they are all delicious

koalab · 08/09/2017 16:27

The bakery ciabatta panini breads and the baby clothes when they are in. My DDs wardrobe is full of basics from Lidl (in fact I stocked up yesterday Grin).

The Cien range is fabulous and relatively inexpensive, although I used to get a really large foam bath with spruce which was wonderful but they don't seem to stock it anymore. Their dishcloths are large, soft and last well and their large plastic freezer bags are wonderfully thick.

Have shopped in Lidl for a couple of years now and have lots of favourites that I pop into my trolley each week. Their cereal is great value, especially the no added sugar muesli that's better than the market leader.
Their churros during the Spanish special week is amazing and I always stock up on the Turon too!

AnimalAddict · 08/09/2017 16:33

The flowers are wonderful, there is a great selection and they smell lovely! :)

vakioaf · 08/09/2017 16:34

I love the Gelatelli Mini Mix Ice Creams from Lidl. These are perfect for a little treat, taste great and are a lot cheaper than other named brands.

sammylea80 · 08/09/2017 16:39

The Ecuadorian 85% dark chocolate is gorgeous! and it comes in mini bars

lizd31 · 08/09/2017 16:46

I love their potato salad & coleslaw, absolutely delicious

friendshipfloss · 08/09/2017 16:53

So many things to choose from...but I can't ever go to Lidl without buying a box of Honey Peanut Crunch cereal with chocolate curls, which the kids demolish in huge bowls. I think they must have a competition to see who can eat the most of it!

The giant pink flamingo was probably the most talked about inflatable on the campsite at La Rochelle where we were on holiday this summer.

mooota1514 · 08/09/2017 17:00

I love the chocolate bars at Lidl, the quality is so good, particularly the milk Bellarom bar

DinosaurSex · 08/09/2017 17:17

They have a gorgeous goats cheese and tomato tart from their bakery section!

Pmliu · 08/09/2017 17:28

I love Lidl Snackrite prawn cocktail crisp, they are just as good as big walkers brand and there are no burnt ones in there like I find in the walkers ones sometimes. I also love their onion rings crisp, it's not too salty or oniony, flavour is just right

BrucesTooth · 08/09/2017 17:30

Potato salad- slices of potato in a yoghurt dressing. It's so delicious, and I've never seen it anywhere else. If I'm passing a Lidl I always go in and buy a tub (or three!)

MimiJoy · 08/09/2017 17:39

They do a great low-carb bread - particularly useful as I've just discovered I'm pre-diabetic x

Laska5772 · 08/09/2017 17:43

Lidl Hortus Gin is fantasic, as good as any of the' brands'.. I have often given it as 'weekend visitor' gifts and have now converted several friends to it ! I also love the wine promotions - the French. German and Austrian ones especially and have learnt such a lot about wine from the informative little books you pick up in store.

Anchovies in the big jar are wonderful value, as is all the continental cheese.

Tinned fish, tinned fish, tinned fish! Such a great selection of tinned fish in sauces such as the wonderful cream and dill, that you simply cannot get elsewhere withought paying lots more!

Its great now that so much of the meat is British produced. I always look there first especially for things like turkey mince , which I cant always get in my other local stores .

As for the Aisle of Wonder.. DH still wears a fab reflective cycling jacket and some leggings I bought him some years ago on a promotion .. iThey have outlasted all the other classy cycling brands hes tried.

Just Love Lidl!! ( we love going to Lidl in Spain, France and Greece also !!)

Laska5772 · 08/09/2017 17:46

Oh, and the fresh cooked in- store bakery goods are so great.. I swear since I discovered the pizza / foccacia slices and.. I am a stone heavier! Hmm .. Maybe not such a good recommendation then Grin

emmav6 · 08/09/2017 18:12

The Lupilu baby essentials are fab to stock up on during their baby events

Lisapaige24 · 08/09/2017 18:24

Am loving the chef select king prawn linguine this great for me as I never eat the same as anyone else in my house plus it's low fat and am on a diet so it's a perfect find

towser44 · 08/09/2017 18:24

They had a fantastic box of 'live' Belgian Beers recently. Think it was about £9 for 6, but to buy them separately elsewhere would have been easily £3-£4 per bottle.

Ferryfairy · 08/09/2017 19:01

Gruner Veltliner white wine from Durnstein in the Wachau Valley in Austria. We went there on our honeymoon, this one is Just Right!

Clayhead · 08/09/2017 19:11

The mixed red and yellow tomatoes, the pumpkin ravioli they sometimes have.

lemoncakes · 08/09/2017 19:12

I love their milk chocolate, bakery items and cheese!

safariboot · 08/09/2017 19:14

Regular, the tinned herring in various sauces are nice and enough to go round two. But the selection of sauces seems to have diminished a lot now.

Special buys, I've a pair of 10x50 binoculars that are decent, good views when pointed at the Milky Way. And two fire extinguishers (one in house, one in car) that I hope I don't have to find out whether they're good or not!

wjanice121 · 08/09/2017 19:34

We went on a cheap self-catering holiday to Lanzarote this year and we were lucky enough to be near a Lidl. When we did the 'big shop' I thought I'd give the the Spinach Tortilla (for breakfast) a go. Everyone loved it and I had to go back and get several more during the week.
