We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

Kanpur Garden Korma Cooking Sauce, the family love it when we have curry night

prwilson · 08/09/2017 14:56

I love their tinned sardines - much cheaper than elsewhere.

i love lidl. i have only recently moved near a store. i think most of the products are good quality and value but the chocolates are to die for. i also love the plants they have available. the two hydrangeas i purchased in lidl have been beautiful

The Greek retsina is the real deal that I've only ever found on holiday. Wisks me right back there!
Also my cherry tree, everyone laughed when I said I'd popped in for milk and come home with a tree but it produces gorgeous cherries and it's only small still.

We make special trips to LIDL (it's a few miles away!) just for items from the bakery. The goat's cheese and pesto focaccia is my favourite. The veggie pizza and the tomato and chilli focaccia are good too, as are the chocolate cookies and doughnuts.

I recently picked up some joggers and a top for my toddler that were cheap in price but pretty decent.

minceandpotatoes · 08/09/2017 15:03

I love the fresh bakery section. Especially the apple turnovers.

maryandbuzz1 · 08/09/2017 15:11

We always buy our fish in Lidl.....the haddock is especially good. When we have a barbecue we also love the tomato and chilli beef burgers!

They do a lovely chocolate with hazelnuts . Its a thin bar rather than a chunky one which I find much nicer.

IncaAztec · 08/09/2017 15:16

I love their middle aisle of wonder. Their school uniform was this years winner. Long lasting for the price!

meepmoop79 · 08/09/2017 15:18

The running socks are really good. As are the chocolate covered honeycomb biscuit bars. In fact they are amazing!

brownhandbag · 08/09/2017 15:19

Long time lidler here :) Love lidl lasagne from the chilled cabinet. The best ready made I have tasted, give it a try!

NannyR · 08/09/2017 15:21

The tinned aubergines in tomato sauce that lidl sell during Greek week. Makes a great pasta sauce or pizza topping.

fairyfiona · 08/09/2017 15:28

Lidl-lover here! It's actually hard to pick only one item to recommend Grin

Off the top of my head, recent lovely things have included:

Deluxe Italian Fennel Salami - absolutely delicious, studded with fennel seeds and absolutely moreish!

Bakery selection (especially cheese twists, chocolate and nut croissants and goats cheese focaccia)

Greek week goodies (frozen beef and pork kebabs, stuffed vine leaves, olives, pastry stuffed with Greek cheese and herbs)

Non-food staples include the W5 Daily Shower Shine - very effective, even in our hard water area and excellent value.

rhinosuze · 08/09/2017 15:33

The roast chicken in the bag! But I love the various themes you do on different countries as I've loved being able to introduce my daughter to different foods plus I love it when you can get specloos reminds me of my childhood in the Netherlands

glennamy · 08/09/2017 15:37

I like Lidl and get at least half my groceries there however I like the non food goods that are brought in as you can find real bargains. I especially like buying the cured whole legs of ham at Christmas.

BeeFarseer · 08/09/2017 15:41

Everything.

I love the tomatoes marketed as children's snacks. They're mixed varieties in one punnet, with beautiful purple and orange ones mixed in with the more usual red ones. I buy them for me because they make my salad look fancy. Blush

The Deluxe coleslaw is beautiful, and the vintage cheddar is genuinely the nicest cheddar I've ever eaten and it's so cheap!

It's not food and it's a seasonal thing that usually pops up around Valentine's Day, but the Suddenly Diamonds perfume is an amazing dupe for Hugo Boss Orange. I stock up on it because it's my main everyday perfume.

Youssef15 · 08/09/2017 15:51

I love their handwash it's cheap and economic . I also buy walnut and almond to bake my favourite cake .and i check online lidl surprises every week online there is allways nice and cheap things

Tamatoa · 08/09/2017 15:56

The reason I put on a stone recently was mostly down to lidl chocolate, and my inability to stop myself buying it! So, soooo good!

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 08/09/2017 16:01

Fennel salami is my guilty pleasure. I also stock up with incredibly cheap dark chocolate and posh jam and stash them away so I always have the makings of Nigella's store cupboard chocolate marmalade/jam cake.

Zippyzulu · 08/09/2017 16:01

Bakery item and the gin for me!

Toomanycats99 · 08/09/2017 16:04

My daughter loves the snack peppers and snack cucumbers. I love them to as they stop her eating an entire large red pepper in one sitting!

liz1970 · 08/09/2017 16:10

Love the 5% mince, really makes my bolagnaise!

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 08/09/2017 16:13

My lidl weakness is the Christmas fudge with sea salt. I buy boxes of the stuff and hide it so it lasts past Christmas.

Everyday wise, we have a black Labrador with a very sensitive tummy who can only tolerate lidl complete dog food at less than £3 a bag it's good value.

Spices001 · 08/09/2017 16:16

The Chef Select Hunters Chicken is amazing! Lower calories than other supermarkets too
