We know many Mumsnetters swear by their Lidl finds - both everyday items and more unusual ones.

We’d love for you to share the gems you’ve discovered there with the rest of MN. Maybe you’re crazy about their chocolate, love their laundry liquid or prize their peppers? Perhaps you stumbled upon an item once that you now always pop in the basket. We all know what treasures are to be found on the middle aisle of wonder - what’s the best thing you’ve ever picked up there?

Please post them on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will get £100 worth of Lidl vouchers (note the winner will be sent 4 x £25 vouchers, one voucher can be redeemed per transaction).

Thanks and good luck

I shop in Lidle twice a weeks. Love cheap vegetables as I am vegan. Lots of bargains for kids. My best is protein bun for 29p.
I think quality is good and I will continue to shop there.

SpaceCorpDirective349 · 24/09/2017 18:18

Orzo and sundried tomato salad. Yum! Good accompaniment to many meals

IDismyname · 25/09/2017 06:36

The spiced Hortus Gin that Lidls had last winter was just fab-u-lous! I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will reappear soon.

Love the Greek pastry/spinach/feta frozen thingys.
Flowers and fruit and veg are great, too.

In fact, whenever I go to a different supermarket, I find myself looking at prices and tutting to myself that they charge so much.

LeninaCrowne · 25/09/2017 10:11

Love the fresh bakery section - there is a fab loaf that had figs in it - often sold out.

ILikeThatSong123 · 25/09/2017 11:41

Feta cheese, Spanish goat's cheese, mozzarella.

Especially the Spanish goat's cheese is the most delicious, I could not find that deliciousness in any other goat's cheese anywhere else. Reminds me of some cheese we used to have in my home when i was a small child. I am not Spanish by the way but that taste is so familiar from olden days and it's so comforting.
We like the bakery products.
Greek stuff is great too.

HAS TO BE THE FRUIT AND VEG!

CherriesInTheSnow · 25/09/2017 20:51

I do loooove their chocolate and when we pop down there, love surprising DD with a flower from outside :)

Jessiecat27 · 26/09/2017 22:41

Well I haven't shopped in Lidl for ages due to there not being one close to my new house but they're currently building one up the road, hope they hurry up, love a good bargain!

AVT5 · 27/09/2017 12:02

always loved the creamy doughnuts in the freezer section!!

villanova · 28/09/2017 22:01

As others have said the bottled cherries & rosemary crackers (not together!). I get through a big bucket of greek-style plain yoghurt (not low fat!) a week on my own, quicker if the kids want yoghurt & crunchy sugar for their dessert. The cherry tomatoes & mini plum ones, fresh cherries & the rest of the good quality fruit & veg, plus the frequency of crafting supplies in the middle aisle. I also love the XXL weeks, especially paprika crisps as I can never find them in the UK.

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 28/09/2017 22:20

Everything in French week.

Your extra mature cheddar is fabulous. And the Christmas panettone. Mmmmm.

EasterRobin · 28/09/2017 22:41

I enjoy their delicious bakery section.

Teabagtits · 28/09/2017 22:51

The soya free bread and dairy free and soya free snowball cakes really made my life :)

StickChildNumberTwo · 30/09/2017 13:11

Chocolate truffles (although my local one doesn't seem to stock them :( )

Moomin7979 · 30/09/2017 16:57

Wipes, nappies, feta, quality ham, peppers, biscuits, gin and cleaning products!

JorlyWood · 01/10/2017 23:12

Chocolate covered rice cakes. Delicious.

justmeeee · 02/10/2017 14:11

Top find has to be pitted black olives (in the chiller rather than those in a jar) - my kids love them as pizza toppings and they're so much cheaper than anywhere else but still just as tasty (the kids assure me - I really don't like olives!)

Also their non-bio washing liquid is great, a lovely smell and as with all things Lidl, very economical!

Wishingandwaiting · 02/10/2017 18:12

Bottled cherries

twattymctwatterson · 02/10/2017 19:10

I absolutely love their bakery especially the blueberry muffins

Fizzyxo · 02/10/2017 21:07

I'm a big Lidl fan, and I have to say I love their cheese. Very affordable and tasty.

Polyanthus · 03/10/2017 08:45

Love the mini stollen bites at Christmas. Also the big packs of thin spiced biscuits - both an essential part of the festivities.

Day to day, love the fruit and veg, the big buckets of yogurt and the fact that you can get free range chicken and outdoor bred sausages. Oh and sometimes outdoor bred pork escalopes - I always buy the when they are in stick
