Whether it’s super healing, super strength, super speed or even the ability to manipulate the forces of the universe, there are certain moments in life when having superpowers would come in handy! With that being said Sky Cinema knows that the summer holidays is often a time when parents unleash their own superpowers and they want to hear all about the lengths you’ve gone to to keep your kids entertained so far this summer!

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This summer, we have a new premiere every day, so you don’t need superpowers to find something great to watch. Premieres this August include Storks, Keeping up with The Joneses, Allied and the brilliant animation Kubo and the Two Strings. We've also got some great superhero movies, such as Marvel's Doctor Strange, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, and Deadpool."

Have you put your multi-tasking skills into full force and been cooking or baking with the kids? Maybe you organised a family sports day in the park, and prepared everyone’s favourite snacks without needing a reminder of what their favourites were? Perhaps you’re able to turn a day out around when you’re unexpectedly graced with some rainy British weather? Or maybe you’ve found a way to magically entertain your children without putting in any effort!

So, inspired by Sky Cinema’s range of superhero movies, comment with the superpowers you have exhibited this summer and you’ll be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Definitely my multitasking skills with my 1000 arms (!!) which allow me to prepare snacks and meals in advance so there's less whinging and whining when everyone is hungry.

I have tested my granny superpowers by rocking my baby grandaughter to sleep and managing to put her in the cot without waking...while the older 4 year old had a screaming tantrum upstairs. I then went and talked to her calmly and resolved the situation! It was really funny, she is so sweet!

last day of the holiday and my son loses his favourite football in the thorny bushes at the cottage we stayed in. after tears and drama we decided to make a treasure map for the next family to try and see if they could locate it and he was happy it would bring some joy to another child

Patience of a saint when the house has been full of noise from morning to night.

tia3456 · 12/08/2017 12:02

Mine is the ability to see things going on behind me, I have eyes in the back of my head!

So far this summer i think i have demonstrated the super power of not losing my temper. Despite some serious provocation. I'm like the antithesis of the Hulk. Or maybe a certain mild mannered janitor...

I realised I had superpowers one day during the school run. On the walk home I found myself having three different conversations perfectly, all at the same time, without losing my train of thought once.
I then realised this happened a lot- three children at primary school, all desperate to tell you about their day and not keen on waiting their turn. What do you do? Either make each wait patiently and listen to each other (sensible but not always easy with excitable children) or turn into Supermum (minus cape and unflattering undies) and talk to them all at once.

my superpowers are getting stuff ready the night before bed so my daughter can get up and get dressed and read a book without waking me up so I can sleep a bit longer!!

I have been super gardener this summer along with our DCs. All flowers and plants are still present and correct and neither the wind rain or especially myself have managed to ruin them. It is our most successful season of growing yet.

CryingMessFFS · 12/08/2017 17:08

Super patience of a saint! They're 3 and 1 and regularly compete to be the most annoying Grin they're hilarious though so I've tried to make the summer as fun and full as possible

sharond101 · 12/08/2017 17:37

I've managed to transform my bored toddler into an exhausted little lovely with several bike rides and football games! Result.

Abominus · 12/08/2017 17:44

I managed to host a BBQ and not completely cremate the food. A rare occurrence indeed.

maisiesnan · 12/08/2017 17:57

My super powers have been very busy lately , I have managed to move home, decorate a 3 bedroom flat be with my daughter when she gave birth, I've helped my son to decorate his home and I've been helping out with child care for both my son and my daughter.Apart from that I've had time to take my little dog out and enter a garden competition......I was a runner up for best balcony.

chinichats · 12/08/2017 18:11

I managed to have a shopping day out with my 13 year old son, he hates shopping and doesn't like been seen with his Mam, we actually had a lovely time and a nice meal out, he even managed to find two geogaches among the shops, I think he secretly enjoyed it too :)

thesockgap · 12/08/2017 18:25

My superpower has to be something akin to "feeding the 5,000" and making the food that I already have in the house, spread out between the gangs of children that seem to appear here daily! On any given day I've had my 13 year old son's 6 mates here, an assortment of nephews / nieces, and seemingly random waifs and strays! All requiring crisps, drinks, biscuits and toast at regular intervals!

mrsRosaPimento · 12/08/2017 18:28

Patience. My dcs constant bickering and arguments over electronics and me being unreasonable because I want ds1 (in particular,) to get off his butt and get some fresh air, is driving me fucking crazy.

mrsRosaPimento · 12/08/2017 18:30

Happysouls I'm jealous of the baby cuddles you're getting!

littlemonkeyz · 12/08/2017 20:05

I leave other mums for Dead (pool) because I'm a lean mean mother activity making machine that even puts Captain America to shame. I don't need to keep up with the Joneses because I am the Joneses, I've got plenty more than 2 strings to my bow, always managing to keep my son on the go.

Lisapaige24 · 12/08/2017 20:10

Lfoulds0209 · 12/08/2017 21:44

I'm 8 months pregnant and survived the heat, I think that's a superpower

FlippyNeck · 12/08/2017 22:05

I'm supersurprised that I've enjoyed the 7 weeks of school holidays, got DS to try some new things and acquired a superkitten as well. I am pleased the holidays are almost over though.

pfcpompeysarah · 12/08/2017 22:22

When my son was just short of a year old I started a degree online (as a single mum) whilst working part time, it was hard going, especially when he would be sick just as an essay was due to be submitted, but I felt super human when I graduated with a 2:1.

GruffaloPants · 12/08/2017 23:08

I managed to help my 6yo tidy her room, while entertaining the 1yo, with no lego eaten. I dint know what superpowers were involved exactly, but I know it s an amazing feat!

kkhimji · 13/08/2017 02:44

managed to run half a marathon for the first time ever!

ineedteanownotlater · 13/08/2017 09:41

My super power was not giving in to the whines of I'm bored that came in the first week. Yes they were bored, they weren't playing with any of their millions of toys and we didn't have anything planned. However after a week of moaning they finally started to fend for themselves and have been occupying themselves ever since. Yes I have taken them on days out as well but I can't afford to do something everyday and they now realise we don't need to do something every day!
