Whether it’s super healing, super strength, super speed or even the ability to manipulate the forces of the universe, there are certain moments in life when having superpowers would come in handy! With that being said Sky Cinema knows that the summer holidays is often a time when parents unleash their own superpowers and they want to hear all about the lengths you’ve gone to to keep your kids entertained so far this summer!

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “This summer, we have a new premiere every day, so you don’t need superpowers to find something great to watch. Premieres this August include Storks, Keeping up with The Joneses, Allied and the brilliant animation Kubo and the Two Strings. We've also got some great superhero movies, such as Marvel's Doctor Strange, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, and Deadpool."

Have you put your multi-tasking skills into full force and been cooking or baking with the kids? Maybe you organised a family sports day in the park, and prepared everyone’s favourite snacks without needing a reminder of what their favourites were? Perhaps you’re able to turn a day out around when you’re unexpectedly graced with some rainy British weather? Or maybe you’ve found a way to magically entertain your children without putting in any effort!

So, inspired by Sky Cinema’s range of superhero movies, comment with the superpowers you have exhibited this summer and you’ll be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

My superpower is just being a young mum, to an "active - very very active" 18 month old, while (currently) 8 months pregnant. From keeping the house clean, to shopping, to staying on my feet and sane, this has been a very hard time and I feel proud that I've managed to somehow survive the hard times and still smile! Being a woman is a natural superpower, because no matter what life throws at us, we always throw our strength back

Mozarmstrong · 11/08/2017 13:39

I have eyes in the back of my head ! Can see 360degrees super vision. But . Most of all know I know from growing up as a twin all avenues are there!!

dannydog1 · 11/08/2017 13:49

My superpower has been resisting the temptation to put children's TV on...

I am displaying amazing power (patience) as Lego sorter, dismantler, piece finder and general tidy up type person for my little brick maniac. He likes the building part of it but none of the stuff that goes with it! But for my OCD-esque super powers we would just have a massive pile of bricks!

Definitely super speed - an autism mummy with a runner is always super fast as chasing down her child :-)

Vonklump · 11/08/2017 14:22

My superpower is managing not to lose it despite having had five nights of the holiday with no more than 90 minutes sleep in a row.
Clearly my standards are set low. Sadly my appearance did not join in the superpower game, and I now look like Madam Mim.

Inspired by Hollie Mcnish: I'm a transformer. My body transformed itself- shifted my nutrients to her, hips widened and breasts grew. Now she's here my hips are shifting back, my uterus shrinking back, nutrients now going to make breast milk.

Megatron ain't shit.

theresamustgo · 11/08/2017 14:58

My superpowers stretch to using my childcare vouchers to let someone else entertain my little darlings....oh yes and booking tickets to Insomnia 61 - now that is super-dedication.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 11/08/2017 16:28

Super organiser here!
I plan mine, DH's & the DC's life!!!! I'm the one who booked our holiday, sorted out annual leave, arranged days out / things to do, done all the stuff for school, organised birthday parties ... I could go on!
All this of course on top of working, doing the house work and being mum & wife!!

ShatnersBassoon · 11/08/2017 16:34

Super nonchalance. It's a true gift. They can sort out their own squabbles, lunches, friends at the door...

honeyandginger48 · 11/08/2017 18:35

My superpower is to not shout at my teenagers when they leave their dishes next to the dishwasher rather than loading it, their clothes on the floor rather than in the washing basket or to demand 'what's for lunch/tea/dinner/supper' every 5 minutes rather than cooking something themselves!

Tonkatol · 11/08/2017 19:18

My superpower is mediator extraordinaire - not just between siblings but between young adults chilling after a year at college/uni and their father - who obviously resents the fact he has been at work whilst they have had time to chill. I set jobs for those at home each morning before I go to work (including for the 10 year old). I then try to do something with them in the afternoon when I get home. Problem is, husband just likes to pick faults, normally with middle DD who has ADHD - usually resulting in tears. I swear DH is can be harder work than having an extra DC!

welshmumof3boys · 11/08/2017 19:36

Somehow I've managed to keep all four children entertained so far which is no mean feet when they all like different things. Compromise has been used and I hope the children have learnt by example

Enigma222 · 11/08/2017 19:47

I have managed to invite 5 under 5's over for the whole day and organize games for them and keep them entertained the whole day. Didn't realize how hard it was going to be! Shock

Sleepysausage · 11/08/2017 20:02

I have survived a family weekend with my extended family who a super judgy

onemorecakeplease · 11/08/2017 20:14

My super power is time travel.
I have managed to vanquish us six weeks into the future - and now we are due back at school.
I've no idea how I did it or where the last six weeks went as if it wasn't time travel it went far too fast!

Kirstyetjohn · 11/08/2017 20:38

Felt like a SuperMum the other day when I managed to go to the shops with my toddler (who is currently going through the terrible two's!) without him having any tantrums or moans! Even managed to buy myself something nice and get him new shoes whilst battling through the 'back to school' crowd of mums, dad's and whinging kids! Felt like I was really winning at life! Smile

WhosTakingDeHorseToFrance · 11/08/2017 20:46

I managed to distract stroppy DD2 from a meltdown today as I'd forgotten to bring any underwear for her to change into after a day at the beach. I'm mighty proud of my flounce aversion skillsGrin

georgedawes · 11/08/2017 21:35

Think it's been patience whilst playing endless games of shopkins!!!

MrsDramaQueen · 11/08/2017 21:37

I think my super power is patience. My son has Autism and can try my patience to the limits. I work a 12 hour shift and often come home and he's hard work. I always need to have eyes in the back of my head. My husband looks after the kids so he is the biggest superhero, still putting dinner on the table, cleaning the house, walking the dog, doing school work with the kids.

mo3733 · 11/08/2017 21:37

My super power is entertaining a teenager whilst arranging entertainment for a toddler at the same time. i went to a multi plex which had bowling for teenager and soft play. phew it was a trying time but fun was had by all

beckyinman · 11/08/2017 21:42

My superpower would be the ability to zone out all the shouting, screaming and general chaos - sometimes in moments of quiet I worry I've gone deaf!

shellywkd · 11/08/2017 21:49

I must admit my memory is great I only need telling once. We have a big family that visits regularly and I always remember who likes what food and which drink. I love multi tasking I can cook, colour in and sing all at the same time on rainy days now.

Sid98 · 11/08/2017 21:50

Managed to get the kids to bed early and had time to myself

BellaWella86 · 11/08/2017 22:03

I've definitely found my 'super power' in preparing lunches and snacks the evening before! I invested in Yumbox bento lunchboxes for the kids before the summer holidays and they have been a complete life saver! It encourages me to pack food ahead of a day out and make healthier choices for the kids, rather than convenience on the day.
