Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Paddington - we all love this and can't wait for the second film in October.

As far as the kids are concerned it has to be Lego Batman for DS and Frozen for DD.

My DS will happily sit through most movies whereas DD usually ends up wandering off before the end of the film.

Loved the remake of recent beauty and the beast, this was my 10 month old DS's first trip to the cinema at a baby friendly screening. Also enjoyed the most recent Bridget Jones, had a lovely girly day with my Dsis.

I'm looking forward to the other remakes of Disney classics such as the little mermaid and Aladdin. These films make me feel nostalgic and happy!

Mary Poppins!

Teaformeplease · 08/08/2017 19:52

Any of the Disney films plus Trolls and anything with a good soundtrack to enjoy.

lolapops1 · 08/08/2017 20:22

The Jungle Book is our current favourite, closely followed by Moana. Got both on DVD so watch them at least once a week at the moment.

MrsPeppercorn · 08/08/2017 20:24

I'm looking forward to rewatching classics that I loved growing up... like Annie and Turner & Hooch

I have four children aged 22, 19, 17 and 10. With such an age range, it isn't all that often that we sit down together to watch a film. However, Disney films are firm favourites in our house. We have all seen Disney's Jungle Book and thoroughly enjoyed it. My eldest daughter was at university when it came out and so she dragged one of her friends off to the local cinema to watch it. One thing I love with Disney is that, not only does the story appeal to all ages, but there are normally two threads of humour running through the film - one at face value designed for children and another, more subtle humour designed for adults.

Three of my four children are girls, including the eldest and the youngest. This means that, on a rainy day, the four of us can often be found snuggled up together watching a film - usually something like The Parent Trap, Princess Diaries or Bridesmaids. On other occasions, my older children will get together and watch a film such as Suicide Squad and similar movies, which are not particularly suitable for my youngest daughter.

We love inside out, it's fantastic and thankfully not something that I get annoyed of constantly watching! We watched moana last week but I wasn't too keen, however I'm grateful every day that she seems to have given up frozen!!!!

jandoc · 08/08/2017 21:30

we watch anything with dogs or cats in it and it's always loved

Gazelda · 08/08/2017 21:33

Lego batman, without a doubt! And The Secret Life of Pets. All of us love these films, which we enjoy watching on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

shoebedo434 · 08/08/2017 22:17

my son loves animated films so he really enjoyed the secret lie of pet and moana. my husband and I are really looking forward to fantastic beasts and where to find them

HoisinSource · 08/08/2017 22:29

We love Road to Eldarado! Such an underrated film.

AlakazamAlakazoom · 08/08/2017 22:35

The DC (6 & 3) would love to watch Trolls or Lego Batman this summer. They saw a clip of Moana & decided it was too scary though.

fivekidsonemum · 08/08/2017 23:07

My 4 kids love getting snuggled up on the couch on the weekends with a bowl of sweets&popcorn, they loved Lego Batman and Trolls but I'm dying to watch Fantastic Beasts as I'm a big Harry Potter nerd 😂so I'm going to convince the boys to watch it next time 📀🎞🎬🍿

sbruin1122 · 08/08/2017 23:20

we seem to be watching every Star Wars movie over and over.

tillymint21 · 08/08/2017 23:36

We loved watching Grease again last week - it is much loved in our household and the Disney films are always enjoyed. Any film involving songs seems to appeal to all ages in our family.

cwalliss82 · 09/08/2017 05:10

From your Top 10, we have watched Secret Life of Pets - My kids found this hilarious but I thought that it was stupid. We all love Finding Dory and watch it at least once a week. We have all seen and enjoyed The Jungle Book and I love Bridget Jones's Baby - not one for the kids and not as good as the first film.

rocketriffs · 09/08/2017 07:06

We have seen Angry Birds, Batman v Superman and Power Rangers. All chosen by my 7 year old son and we enjoyed them. The favourite film we have seen this year has to be Lego Batman. It's brilliant and we look forward to seeing it again. It looks great and is laugh a minute.

DoneAdulting · 09/08/2017 08:46

We've been binge watching Moana since it was released, and we are also enjoying The Secret Life of Pets. One discovery I'd never heard of was Rock Dog - my 4 year old son loves it!

Pmliu · 09/08/2017 10:05

My little ones love watching Postman Pat movie, Matilda, Frozen and all the Shrek movies. We generally watch movies together when its raining or too cold to go in the garden.

magolin · 09/08/2017 10:17

Got to be worth it just for the chance to see Rogue One again! All the films really are fantastic and it's great to have the opportunity to catch up again, watch individual scenes again and again, etc!

Buildalegohouse · 09/08/2017 11:25

My DD loves the Postman Pat movie. She adores the TV series and the feature film held her attention longer than anything else ever has.

DH and I really enjoyed Finding Dory. It will always stay in our memories too, as it is what we were watching just before I found out I was pregnant for the second time. Grin

Hairq · 09/08/2017 12:11

Lego Batman has been out big household hit and we all enjoyed Fantastic Beasts too.

mumpetuk1 · 09/08/2017 12:29

We love watching E.T.
