Watching a film can be a great way to spend time together as a family over the Great British summer, and Sky Cinema would like to hear about the family films you’re looking forward to watching or would recommend.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We’ve got the biggest family blockbusters from 2016 available on demand, from The Secret Life of Pets and Jungle Book to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”.

Take a look at the Ten biggest blockbusters from 2016 and all of the family films available with Sky Cinema. Let us know about the ones you’ve watched as a family (and what you thought) and sharing those that you’re looking forward to watching with your children and why.

So, whether your family summer film watching is on rainy days or during a relaxing evening in, share your favourites and those you’re looking forward to below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

I really enjoyed watching Fantastic Beasts with the family!

Deadpool was also very good, but not so suitable for younger viewers perhaps

Finding Dory was also very enjoyable, and Moana was amazing. There's been some amazing films this past year!

Ikea1234 · 07/08/2017 14:59

Fantastic Beasts, Zootropolis, and Secret Life of Pets were popular with all of us, and for the adults, we LOVED Deadpool! Definitely not one for the little ones tho!

sammylea80 · 07/08/2017 17:17

Moana .. such a feel food film!

cheryl100 · 07/08/2017 19:05

We loved watching Rogue one - with popcorn and sweets it made it even better! I love sitting down and chilling with my family :)

ohlittlepea · 07/08/2017 19:23

We love cosy movie moments in this weather! Trolls is definitely the favourite in our house this summer the songs and characters make my little girl smile each day. I'm not into the ethics of Rupert Murdoch so I don't watch sky though.

Sierra259 · 07/08/2017 20:14

DC1 is mad about Tangled at the moment. Handy as they've just started showing the sequel on TV. Moana gets a lot of viewing too - that's my favourite, love the songs!

sparkleygem · 07/08/2017 20:55

My 2 year old is just starting to get into films and so far her fav is moana.... my views on moana..... best Disney in years! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Although we are now on the 8th time ConfusedGrin

I took my little boy to watch 'Secret Life Of Pets' at the cinema. It was his first time at the cinema. We were surrounded by people either talking, looking at their mobile phones throughout the film or eating tortilla crisps. I would like to see 'Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them' so I think we will watch that at home on Sky Cinema so we can actually enjoy the film (and save a bit of money too!)

Summergarden · 07/08/2017 21:36

It's a bit cheesy but we love watching Mamma Mia on summer evenings.

The combination of Abba tunes and Greek scenery is so feel Good!

AmberNectarine · 08/08/2017 00:03

We love Storks. I think it's a clever riff on workplace politics. We've all worked with a Pigeon Toady.

vickibee · 08/08/2017 06:46

We love nanny McPhee in our house. My son has asd and anything with a social story helps with his development.
We recently watched despicable me 3 at the cinema and loved that too.

cluckyhen · 08/08/2017 08:22

Moana has been a firm favourite in our house - which is bad for when I need to get to work!

BananaDaiquiri · 08/08/2017 09:27

I haven't seen any of the top 10 blockbusters, but would love to watch Rogue One, Fantastic Beasts and Finding Dory.

From the family ones I am desperate to see Moana with my girls.

DD1 has just discovered Back to the Future and loves it (as do the whole family), great classic family film. The kids have also enjoyed Finding Nemo and Wreck it Ralph.

kassza · 08/08/2017 12:18

Of the films in the top ten, none of those, however Sing was brilliant! Such an interactive film for the children to sing and dance along to. Great for all the family and was a godsend on the flight to Majorca.

stefalfie11 · 08/08/2017 12:42

We seem to be watching inside out again and again at the request of DD and also the little mermaid!

badgermum · 08/08/2017 13:13

We love having a Family~Film~Fest on wintery sundays and during the school holiday evenings, they generally involve some speical treats i.e popcorn and chocs and a blanket on the sofa we have seen Star Wars Rouge one (one of the favs) , the Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil war, Batman v superman (another fav) and The secret life of Pets, our son aged 11 has been pestering to watch suicide squad and Deadpool but unlucky for him it's not going to happen not for another 4 years anyway!!!

sm2012 · 08/08/2017 13:58

Love a family film night and at the moment Secret Life of Pets is a favourite! Just also watched T2, with my husband not kids!, and thought it was fantastic although it made us both feel old :)

Palegreenstars · 08/08/2017 14:13

Moana was so refreshing with a strong female character who's love life does'nt define her.

We are looking forward to Inside Out

Pinklady301 · 08/08/2017 15:38

Mine amd my DD current choice is Sister Act 2. An old but feel good film which my 9 year old loves also.

Mozarmstrong · 08/08/2017 15:50

So loved Moana and Rogue one so opposite in every way but my family is!

fionabird75 · 08/08/2017 16:05

Any superhero film goes down well in this house,

Coffeechick · 08/08/2017 16:17

My kids loved zootropolis as did I and great messages in the film. A lot of the modern Pixar ones are quite good and perfect for adults and kids. As my kids are relatively young. Were looking forward to going to see cars 3

HowsAnnie25 · 08/08/2017 16:33

We went to see Finding Dory at our local cinema with my whole family- funnily enough my eldest (15) probably liked it the most and has since bought the BluRay himself! I liked it but not as much as Nemo.
We loved Secret Life of Pets - very funny and an exciting plot.
Everyone except for me saw Rogue One and they loved that - not my thing at all!!
We all really want to see Storks again - we went to see at a little town in Ireland on holiday and absolutely loved it!! It even prompted me to buy the Talk Talk greatest hits as one of their songs is on the soundtrack!

Marie1276 · 08/08/2017 16:43

Moana has been playing over and over again since school holiday began. My 5 years old loved so much.Am beginning to know all the words in it lol
Great family film though.I even shed a tear when the grandmother died and turned to a ray.
There's also the new Beauty & the Beast that we loved so much.Watched it 5 times now lol
Both are great to share in family with young children.

cpjoli · 08/08/2017 17:36

Moans is my son's current fave along with secret life of pets. I've seen them both most days.
But being a huge Harry potter fan , I adore fantastic beasts which I'll watch with ds.
