So the kids are in bed. That means that the grand Movie Date Night In is ON. We want to know how such romantic nights go in your home.

How do you decide which movies to watch with your OH and who gets the final say? Are there any films you’re looking forward to seeing this summer?

What you do to make these evenings special? Do you perhaps have a special movie dinner or snack you love to make? Are there homemade cocktails or mocktails or just a glass of something cold? And if you have any memorable Date Night In moments you want to share, we'd love to hear about them.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We've got the ten biggest blockbusters of 2016 available on demand, as well as new premieres every day. From Bridget Jones’ Baby to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them”

All who share their movie date night tips in a post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher!

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Let your " date" choose the movie, also plenty of wine all devices turned off

We usually always end up fast asleep while watching films after looking after the kids all day so it's not much of a date night for us.

lots of snacks and comfy seats, draw the curtains and pretend were at the cinema

The movie we decide to watch makes a great night for us.

We chat about different movies, my OH fancies new releases, such as Dunkirk or Logan, films with plenty of action, while my preferences are turn towards romantic comedies.

We both enjoy thrillers as long as there isn't too much shuffling off to the kitchen, or covering my eyes, when the action gets heated.

We generally get a takeaway, either Chicken Korma or pizza, and enjoy a glass (or two) of wine.

A great night in!

A good romantic comedy always goes down well while having my homemade ciabatta pizzas with mozzarella, mushrooms, green peppers, green chillies & sundried tomato & chilli pesto. I don't drink alcohol but I love a glass of delicious China White GO! Kombucha which tastes like Prosecco but is really healthy. It's been a godsend to me with my fibromyalgia & stopped me sleeping all through the day

One of us baths the little ones and puts them to bed while the other prepares a nice romantic meal, then its time to cuddle up on the sofa with a bag of pick and mix and a film, we have actually done this the last 3 Saturday nights.

We love settling down and watching a movie together as it's such a rare occurrence.
We enjoy preparing some gorgeous cheeses, pickles , olives and bread and relax with a glass of wine. No phones allowed.
We usually watch something that has been recommended to us.

We get a good romantic comedy or drama from Netflix - one that has good user reviews, not good "critic" reviews (we often disagree!). Me and my husband watch it on our own with some beers for him and red wine for me. Chocolate is a bit of a no-no for me (being diabetic), so I'll treat myself to a couple of home-made sugar-free biscuits, while hubby delves into a chocolate bar!

I choose something to watch and he chooses something, we snuggle up with a glass of wine, popcorn and leave the phones alone for a few hours

Children tucked up and safe. Low lights, a film or series that we both love, mug of tea (I know we are pathetic) we try to avoid snacks. I like playing solitaire at the same time!

It has to be carefully planned, as we don't have a lot of spare cash, so I will have 'date night' on a special anniversary of something, wedding, engagement anniversary's etc. I will make a chicken curry or casserole, and a nice bottle of wine (sparking if I can find a good one cheap enough). Once I tire my DC's out for the day, with swimming and a trip to the park I know they will be out for the count and go to bed earlier.
We light the tealights, put on our fave film (pretty woman) and relax together, and appreciate each other, as being part of a busy family is not always possible.

Choosing a good film means not reading reviews in crass newspapers, but only reading the better reviews and making up your own mind based on the director, writer, et cetera (the cast are rarely important). And old black-and-white and foreign films can be absolutely wonderful (certainly better than the current crop of superhero and American (supposedly) comedy films.

ATM going out with a new man... Things are more on the "we'll see" rather than a "finally" a night for us. But meanwhile is going hunky dory. It is my date night and my kids, not so kids any longer are shocked and dead jelous.
Hahahaha...Love it !

I always try and make sure we have lovely snacks to watch the movie with, and ignore all phone messages unless urgent

Picking a film that you both actually want to see rather than one of you compromising. I always make sure there are plenty of snacks and drinks out so I don't have to keep leaving the sofa as well.

We have a cinema night all together and usually watch a "kid" film. We recently have started watching older ones I watched growing up - "The Goonies" was a big hit!!! Popcorn and crisps are usually served too!
