So the kids are in bed. That means that the grand Movie Date Night In is ON. We want to know how such romantic nights go in your home.

How do you decide which movies to watch with your OH and who gets the final say? Are there any films you’re looking forward to seeing this summer?

What you do to make these evenings special? Do you perhaps have a special movie dinner or snack you love to make? Are there homemade cocktails or mocktails or just a glass of something cold? And if you have any memorable Date Night In moments you want to share, we'd love to hear about them.

Here’s what Sky Cinema has to say: “With Sky Cinema, it’s easy to find something to watch this summer. We've got the ten biggest blockbusters of 2016 available on demand, as well as new premieres every day. From Bridget Jones’ Baby to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them”

All who share their movie date night tips in a post below will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 John Lewis voucher!

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

We usually get some snacks in - nuts, crisps, sweets etc, a couple of bottles of wine, and watch a film of both of our choosing - so usually no girlie chick flicks and no World War II dramas!!

we always have dips and carrot batons set up or some popcorn for snacks. Otherwise if we are really hungry, we send out for pizza

We make healthy pizzas - with whole meal tortilla wrap pizzas and a selection of toppings.
We then settle down on the sofa with a bag of pop corn and a drink.
We take it in turns to choose a film.

Plenty of beer and usually a film of DHs choice Grin I'm not a big movie fan but we both like watching comedies and more off beat films!

Listen to recommendations from your friends about what to watch.

We try to pick a film we both enjoy, wear the kids out during the day so they are ready to go to bed early then open up the wine and cook some grown up food - usually a good curry!

Plan ahead - choose the film you want to see beforehand and choose your snacks etc. and the time you start ahead. My hubby and I try to do this but always end up arguing about what film to watch so end up watching nothing!

Just planning one for tomorrow night as DD is on a sleepover. A good meal and then something got pudding or chocolate whilst we are watching the film. And wine of course. We had a spate of film nights where we chose the films on alternate weeks. What a good idea! I watched all sorts that I would never have chosen - Kill Bill, Godfather etc. And DH secretly loved Bridesmaids!!

Decide on the movie ahead of time, otherwise you waste half the night debating on it!

We buy loads of second hand cheap DVDs from CEX online where there are loads to choose from. So when the time comes for film night we have a few shelves full to choose from. We tend to discuss what kind of mood we're in and pick a film to suit that we both agree on. We take our film watching seriously as far as quality goes so evenings are never wasted on something less than great! We have wine and snacks and phones and other distractions are banned!

Movie date night is putting our pjs on, ordering a pizza, plenty of wine and a good shoot em up action film.

We choose a movie we both want to see. We both love completely different things but also have a decent common ground. Then make sure there is nothing urgent that we've forgotten to do (nothing worse than remembering half way through a movie that you meant to order something online before midnight to get it in time for whatever!). Phones, laptops and tablets ignored. Snacks ready, sofa junk decanted. Furry throws and a warming whisky if chilly. Chilled drinks if not. And relax!

A movie that you both can enjoy with some lovely dry white wine with crackers and cheese

Usually watch a film that has had good reviews that interest us both. Some healthy snacks like fruit and nuts, & some cider. Curl up on the sofa together, putting the mobile on charge in the kitchen out of the way. Quality time, can't beat it!

Needs to be a good film, sounds obvious but we've watched some rubbish ones recently!
