Over the past few wintry months you'd be forgiven for feeling like the icy starts and shorter days were never going to end. However, now that the days are drawing out and it’s light into the evenings, it’s great to be able to start spending more time outdoors, getting some fresh air. Arla Big Milk would like to hear about your plans to spend more time outside and ensure your children get the fresh air they need and some much-needed Vitamin D, now that spring is here.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk have to say: “We know it's important your little ones get the nutrients they need to fuel their amazing growth and development. Arla Big Milk is fresh cow's milk enriched with Vitamin D, A and Iron so you can be sure they are getting what they need when consumed as part of a balanced diet.”

Maybe you’re looking forward to getting the barbecue out without there being a downpour. Or you might be planning longer family walks with your dog or perhaps you’re looking forward to spending time in the park so your toddler can use up their excess energy? If you expect resistance from the kids, what might be your cunning plans be to persuade them to join you outdoors? Share your plans for being out in the fresh air with Arla Big Milk below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks, and good luck!

We bought big colourful outdoor beanbags. The little ones don't like sitting on our regular outdoor furniture. The beanbags makes them keen to be out there with us when we're laving a bbq or lunch outside.

Outdoor garden games have also helped.

Picnics and feeding the birds are our favourites. It's great to give her responsibility over a task outside.

Living in London we are in easy reach of loads of different parks and outdoor activities or a train ride to the beach. I just keep a bag ready and when the weather's good we just jump on a bus or train and head for the Lido, a park or whatever

Best way to get and keep them outside is to lock them out of the house. You as well - and take them to places where they can experience new things and learn about nature. (Don't let them bring any technology either!)

Looking forward to sunny days making home made milk shakes and smoothies whilst enjoying time with my dc's and the great outdoors.

we love to go camping. Lost of fresh air and no gadgets!

We go on nature hunts in our local woods, collecting leaves listening for birds, watching out for wildlife and pond dipping.
They are happy to stay out longer and walk further if they have something to distract them.

I'm a runner and that's really encouraged my kids to want to be outside - although they've always been interested.
Recently I ran 9 miles on a cycle route through the forest and countryside, while the boys went on scooters. They're always very interested in going on long walks in the countryside now. I recently bought a book of walks and my eldest especially likes looking at the maps and choosing where to go - it's just an adventure. We're also members of the national trust and love finding new properties to visit. I'm very happy that we all love to be outdoors and that it's been encouraged from an early age!

Might seem mean but I guilt trip them by using the dogs. Tell them that the dogs really want to go for a walk, to the beach, picnic etc. but say that they really want your child to go and they will be sad if you don't. Works like a charm every time xx

My little girl is obsessed with peppa pig at the moment, and peppa loves to feed the ducks, so everywhere that we go we have to feed the ducks too.

So when I want to get her outside, I offer her a walk to feed the ducks along the canal, DD feeds the ducks while DS bike rides, so everyone is happy :)

I'm planning lots of picnics, bike rides, trips to the park and seaside to get outdoors and if we are just at home it will be games in the garden. My little girl loves been outside though in all weathers

NT places are a good way to get out, kids love them and something to explore, we love walking in shallow rivers and steaks in our wellies.

Embrace the outdoors - children have the time of their lives outside. We head out pond dipping in our local shallow stream, or build dens in the woods. Its great for me and DH to feel like kids again too.

My little man loves being outside so it is really easy for us to have free fun. A great one we visited this weekend was Clifton Park. Great outdoor water play are for the kids, crazy golf, big and small play areas to suit from babies to adults, a giant sand pit, a small theme park and lots of park to walk around and enjoy BBQs. There is also a train to help you around. Parking was £2.15 for 3 hours. Money very well spent!

We are fortunate to live in North Yorkshire, surrounded by an abundance of beautiful walks on our doorstep. My 2 grandsons really love the countryside, checking out wildlife, plants, farm crops together with the added fun of a picnic along the way. They need no encouragement at all so let's hope it lasts !!!

We are going to mums for Easter and she lives right on the beach so the offer of a picnic on the beach and building sand castles usually works.

We encourage the kids to get outside by making it fun. We always take a snack or picnic so they do not get hungry.

We get out on our bikes and plan a ride that involves stop offs at a nice cafe or pub for lunch and somewhere the kids can play like a river or playground.

We also walk to and from school when the weather is good, it's the perfect antidote to being cooped up in a classroom all day!

The trampoline is up, it's big enough for both boys to jump on at the same time. Outdoor table with a sun umbrella next to it makess a nice relaxing spot to supervise!
