Over the past few wintry months you'd be forgiven for feeling like the icy starts and shorter days were never going to end. However, now that the days are drawing out and it’s light into the evenings, it’s great to be able to start spending more time outdoors, getting some fresh air. Arla Big Milk would like to hear about your plans to spend more time outside and ensure your children get the fresh air they need and some much-needed Vitamin D, now that spring is here.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk have to say: “We know it's important your little ones get the nutrients they need to fuel their amazing growth and development. Arla Big Milk is fresh cow's milk enriched with Vitamin D, A and Iron so you can be sure they are getting what they need when consumed as part of a balanced diet.”

Maybe you’re looking forward to getting the barbecue out without there being a downpour. Or you might be planning longer family walks with your dog or perhaps you’re looking forward to spending time in the park so your toddler can use up their excess energy? If you expect resistance from the kids, what might be your cunning plans be to persuade them to join you outdoors? Share your plans for being out in the fresh air with Arla Big Milk below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks, and good luck!

I have 9 year old twins that both have autism. My daughter has asbergers & is high functioning. My son has severe autism & is non verbal. They are both so different & have such different needs so getting out with them both can be tough. We are really lucky in the fact that we live 5 mins away from a brilliant park that have lots of activities for kids during the warmer days. They have a farm, horse riding classes for disabled children, bike riding sessions for children with special needs & a gorgeous little cafe that serves kids picnic boxes. We can literally spend all day there & both my kids absolutely love it.

Im planning on going off in our campervan over the hols - to a lovely campsite which has a petting farm and wooden fort for the kiddiewinkles!

Our big thing this year is family bike rides! We have just invested in roof bars and can now take the bikes with us everywhere we go! The kids love it!

We love getting out in the fresh air whether that be on the bikes , scooters or a family orienteering session at the Gruffallo trail . I think exploring in the fresh air is essential for children and makes precious family moments . We love going to the park too and even recently tied a visit to the park in with his nursery homework as he had to find an unusual place to read a book so we decided on the swings .
I also think even if it's wet and muddy still get in the fresh air, wellies on making an adventure is always magical for kids .

My children love being outside and always have. I made sure when they were younger they spent a lot of time outdoors,we do activities outside such as painting, we take the play tent outside and make it cosy with books and cushions,we also take toys outside to play with.
I made sure I brought items for the garden that my children would enjoy, they have a trampoline, sand pit,a ride on car each,a water tray,a bouncy castle and a bike each.
All I ever have to say is would you like to go outside and they are at the cupboard ready to get their coats and shoes.
At the moment we are going to the park now it is getting warmer, we have an ice cream afterwards if the children have been good.

Throw some food and drink into a backpack, water shoes and some spare bottoms and just get going! Without a doubt you will end up by water and without a doubt the kids will go in it so be prepared, or you have a long whingey walk home! Get a dog as they ensure you get out and about in the fresh air!

Well we invested in buying a TukTuk , think we are the first in the country with the model we have but it has no doors on so you get the wind in your face. Kids love this and they are always asking to have rides in it especially now the weather has lifted up . Were planning some short journeys out by us as the TukTuk only goes 40 miles per hour but we have some lovely canal walks by us and the kids love to see the fish in the water and also watch the barges go by x

We have the lawn mowed, swing ball and cricket set at the ready and plenty of ice pops in the freezer. Bring it on!

robyn297 · 06/04/2017 22:19

We are looking forward to going for walks without the wellies. Also, the kids can't wait for a trip to the beach.

OksanaFitzgerald · 06/04/2017 22:22

We are looking forward to having picnics with my daughter in our local park

Mummy2aRockstar · 06/04/2017 22:36

We've already spent most of this week at the park or in the garden playing catch and teach my son how to ride his scooter. Next on the list is a BBQ and a picnic at the beach, where we can hopefully avoid SANDwiches Grin.

paulacheadle · 06/04/2017 22:43

try to get out for a walk, my granddaughter was born on Tuesday, so I could take her out in the pram for some fresh air

Minnibix · 06/04/2017 22:47

At this time of the year its easy, I just tell them that the baby ducklings need feeding - they have their coats and wellies on like a shot : )

annmariec · 06/04/2017 22:54

We are going on a nature walk to see the new baby lambs and the flowers starting to bloom also doing a bit of forest school in our local woods

crosscat12 · 06/04/2017 23:14

Love to get my granddaughters in the woods then into the garden I encourage them plants fruit, veg and flowers then when they stay they can take what they have grown back home , mind you I don,t think the strawberries and raspberries actually reach home

Perfectmom1972 · 06/04/2017 23:34

My children love outdoors. They love walking in the woods and the hills. They like collecting things like cones, and branches/sticks to make dens and campfire. Looking forward to do more exploring soon!

baberooo · 06/04/2017 23:49

We create fun treasure hunts to find different wildlife, trees or places with a reward at the end. I never have any problems getting them into the fresh air, the only problem is they don't want to go home xxx

Lialouise2519 · 06/04/2017 23:49

I'm due baby number 3 at the beginning of July, at the moment we have been stuck home mostly as I'm riddled with spd
We can't wait until the baby arrives for long walks over our local parks and nature reserves, trips to the beach, family days out and most of all barbecues in the garden! Summer is going to be amazing for us this year x

samanthab870 · 06/04/2017 23:54

We live in the middle of the countryside so we usually go walks around by the local farms and down country paths and see all the animals and get lots of fresh air that way. We also go to our local loch and park which is also fun. My son prefers to go see the animals though and tries to copy them it's so cute. He's only 1 so lots of fun learning x

Squeezed · 07/04/2017 07:18

I've just got all the garden toys out now the weather is picking up. They're now all out there so dd can run around doing whatever she wants to.

wonkylegs · 07/04/2017 09:48

I don't need to have plans as my 11mth old loves outside and is insistent (shouting & pointing) we go outside from the moment he wakes up. I'm not so keen at 6am but we usually spend a good chunk of the day outside, just to shut him up keep him happy. We have a really really big plot of land so there is always gardening to do, he joins me in the pram for that. He's going to be terrible when he works out he can eat some of the fruit & veg from the garden - watch out strawberries & pears!
Then we get a big picnic blanket & toys out when his big brother comes home from school & set it up near the football goals so we can watch him have a kick about. We also have a big climbing frame & swings which both boys love.

cheryl100 · 07/04/2017 10:54

I am learning my son to cook simple meals that include healthy foods

sockmonkey · 07/04/2017 14:22

It's always tricky to get my teens out of the house, but once they're out they always have a great time. We love going to Sherwood Forest, which is near by.

TinfoilHattie · 07/04/2017 17:32

Pokemon Go! Seriously! The novelty hasn't worn off here and the kids are happy to go to new places and walk for miles if they think there might be a Pikachu at the end of it.

mrsglowglow · 07/04/2017 18:11

We were lucky to buy family merlin passes with our Christmas gift money in the January sale. Weekends and school holidays will now involve theme park trips and lots of outdoors time. The kids are getting older and sadly the local parks aren't as enticing to them. I miss the park :(
