To celebrate Mother’s Day, Co-op wants to find out what would make your mother’s day this coming Sunday. Maybe she’s a Mum with simple tastes, and a card or bunch of flowers will suffice to make her really happy? Or perhaps you’re going all out this year, inviting her around for a meal and a day spent with the family. If you’re taking a more creative approach, perhaps you’ll be making her gifts by yourself, or just planning a day together for some one-on-one time with you - maybe brunch and the cinema? As a mum, tell us what would make your day extra special?

Here’s what Co-op has to say: “This Mother’s Day we want everyone to think about their mum and how to make it really personal and special to her. To not only buy the usual expected mother’s day gifts, but to really think about what makes your mum happy. Because only when you really know your mum can you really make it her day.”

Whatever it is that you’re going to do to make your mother’s day really special, Co-op wants to know. Please share your thoughts below - everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw and one MNer will win a £300 Co-op vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

What would make my Mothers Day, well being woken up to my hubby and sons with handmade cards and gifts followed by a day out.

My mother is dead but my children were wonderful this year.

I went to visit my godmother who now lives on her own in a retirement community as most of the women living there have children who took them out for the day.

On my return I was told not to go in the kitchen until dinner time. When dinner was ready a big bunch of flowers was waiting for me on the kitchen table and my teens had made a three course meal. Garlic and lemon prawns, steak with mashed potato, spinach and sautéed mushrooms and then beautiful biscuits, decorated by them with royal icing.

Who could ask for anything more?

I went for a pub lunch and bought my mum some beautiful flowers

A lie-in is at the top of the wish-list! Not bothered about breakfast in bed or anything but lots of snuggles with little one and a home-made card/picture over a bought one!
