To celebrate Mother’s Day, Co-op wants to find out what would make your mother’s day this coming Sunday. Maybe she’s a Mum with simple tastes, and a card or bunch of flowers will suffice to make her really happy? Or perhaps you’re going all out this year, inviting her around for a meal and a day spent with the family. If you’re taking a more creative approach, perhaps you’ll be making her gifts by yourself, or just planning a day together for some one-on-one time with you - maybe brunch and the cinema? As a mum, tell us what would make your day extra special?

Here’s what Co-op has to say: “This Mother’s Day we want everyone to think about their mum and how to make it really personal and special to her. To not only buy the usual expected mother’s day gifts, but to really think about what makes your mum happy. Because only when you really know your mum can you really make it her day.”

Whatever it is that you’re going to do to make your mother’s day really special, Co-op wants to know. Please share your thoughts below - everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw and one MNer will win a £300 Co-op vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Breakfast in bed on a sliver tray, glass of chilled pink champagne and then a hot scented bubbly bath

My mum has had a really tough few months losing her dad and mother in law within 24 hours of each other so I wanted to make this mothers day amazing so flowers , chocolates and a photo frame with her dad on one side and mother in law on then other to remind her of all the happy memories. I also took her for a lovely picnic over Cannock Chase

jandoc · 03/04/2017 20:42

having a fun day out in the park and a meal would be great

My mum is truly happy when she sees her grandchildren, she misses my little girl when she's not seen her even for a day. So, all the grandchildren went to visit. Her other favourite thing is shopping and house interior design so I bought her a beautiful hard backed designer homes book and I took her shopping the day before where she picked out a nice candle and some lovely gloves. She said she'd had a lovely day

Take her to a Billy Joel concert, a bunch of flowers and a lovely meal. Easy.

Headfullofdreams · 03/04/2017 22:02

For me, I'd love a leisurely breakfast reading the newspapers then a bike ride, a lovely lunch and then just chilling with the kids.

Having my mum around for a hug and a catch up of the last 9 years would make my Mothers Day, and I'm pretty sure it'd make hers too.

My mum fosters 4 as well as being a complete rock to her own 5 (although grown) children, so I wanted to do something extra special with her this year. Unfortunately she wasn't able to find the time, I was thinking a nice spa day for her, to get some relaxation and some "me" time, but it didn't happen :( Instead I got her cake and Prosecco :) It went down a treat!

I got my perfect Mother's Day, we spent the day in Leicester Square. We went for lunch, looked in the shops and had dinner with our mums in the evening. It was a perfect day spent with family. Mother's Day feels like it was ages away now, I'm in need of a mum pampering session already! Xxx

I love making homemade things. Shortbread and flower cupcakes made by me and my kiddies.

pinkspideruk · 03/04/2017 23:23

I gave my mum the day off - did her house work, washing, cooked dinner and did the dishes - also got her some gifts too of her favourite fudge, and some smellies

jamielmdjs · 03/04/2017 23:44

An activity or meal with the whole family spending time together. New photos taken and nice frames to show them in.

Jocelynne123 · 03/04/2017 23:50

It might not seem like much but my mum loves carboot sales so I took her to a carboot sale and bought her some things she wanted. I then took her for afternoon tea with my daughter and I. She LOVES afternoon tea and we spent ages talking. We finished the day at ours where I made Sunday dinner and ran after her because she always looks after us. We all had a wonderful day xx

natholland82 · 03/04/2017 23:57

My mother actually has no expectations on mothers day - she had actually forgotten it WAS mothers day. Her mother was the same way, so she didn't much like to be made a fuss off. That said, I sent her some flowers and a card and she really did appreciate that. Also, we shared a nice bottle of sparkling wine and that went down well! :)

Samparkes · 04/04/2017 00:01

Mine is that the sun is shining and spending the day with family. My favourite part of the day is when my mini me hands me home made cards and gifts priceless and things I will treasure a lifetime.

Emhus · 04/04/2017 06:18

Someone to do the household chores and cooking for the day

sylviagill · 04/04/2017 06:43

This Mothers day I have given my lovely mum a Spa Voucher, and we are going together to spend some precious 'mum' time which we never get, she looks after her Grandson twice a week and it's just a cuddle and 'hello, goodbye' from me, so I want to show her how much she means to me and my family for all she does so selflessly.

freedomofspeech · 04/04/2017 08:14

We planned a trip to the beach but ended up in 5 hour of standstill traffic! We were together though and made the most of it.

sarcod · 04/04/2017 08:19

I'm happy with a nice lie in and a cup of coffee to wake up to but I do make a fuss of my mum flowers chocs, bought her a new summer jacket and cooked her fave tea cottage pie and veggies 💖

Petalrose67 · 04/04/2017 09:10

My brother and I took our mum out for lunch for a Sunday roast which is her favourite. We then went back to our house for bubbles, cake and presents and then my brother drove mum home. I think she enjoyed being spoiled.

roleymartin · 04/04/2017 09:19

My mother has simple tastes, a full english brekkie for breakfast.....Walks along the beach followed by Lamb and mash for dinner. My mum means the world to me , here's a song/video I made for her :
