To celebrate Mother’s Day, Co-op wants to find out what would make your mother’s day this coming Sunday. Maybe she’s a Mum with simple tastes, and a card or bunch of flowers will suffice to make her really happy? Or perhaps you’re going all out this year, inviting her around for a meal and a day spent with the family. If you’re taking a more creative approach, perhaps you’ll be making her gifts by yourself, or just planning a day together for some one-on-one time with you - maybe brunch and the cinema? As a mum, tell us what would make your day extra special?

Here’s what Co-op has to say: “This Mother’s Day we want everyone to think about their mum and how to make it really personal and special to her. To not only buy the usual expected mother’s day gifts, but to really think about what makes your mum happy. Because only when you really know your mum can you really make it her day.”

Whatever it is that you’re going to do to make your mother’s day really special, Co-op wants to know. Please share your thoughts below - everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw and one MNer will win a £300 Co-op vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

A nice day in a spa hotel with my husband and no kids

bex552 · 04/04/2017 20:12

I hair cut and pamper session, she never gives time for herself!

We drove over from leicester to stafford where she lives and surprised her with a lovely rose plant, some brandy and some liquer chocolates. Needless to see she was very happy!

I would take my mum back to her childhood home in Broadstairs and take her to the old fashioned ice cream shop that is there called Morellies , I took my own son their so it is very much a family tradition.

I think most Mums just want their whole family around them. We went to my Mother-in-Law's this year, it's kind of like Christmas!

A lie in and a full day of the kids not bickering at each other would be great.

samanthab870 · 04/04/2017 21:20

First of A long lie in, followed by breakfast in bed, lots of cuddles from my son and partner. A lovely bouquet of flowers 🌺 and a handmade card from my son. A nice roast dinner and homemade cake and cream. Then a big bubble bath and cuddle in bed with my son and partner watching a good family movie x

Mum love flowers so a day round an open garden and then high tea would really make her day

molly57 · 04/04/2017 21:41

Mother's Day would be special if I had my family nearby.

Dizzyc73 · 04/04/2017 21:44

For me, the perfect Mothers Day would be a a day where I don't have to do even one chore in the house, and where my children all help out and make special treats for example a nice breakfast in bed or baking a cake for me. And I'd love to have the TV remote to myself, or to be able to read a book for an hour without getting disturbed. But its also important to spend quality time with my children, after all it wouldn't be Mothers Day without them....

My Mum is the biggest book wormi know a book &a new mug for her beloved tea is all that is required to get the biggest smile on Mothers day (& maybe a little chocolate too)

piggypoo · 04/04/2017 22:11

A nice cupcake and a cup of tea in my favourite cup! :)

mishknight · 04/04/2017 22:21

Always prefer the items my little girl makes as opposed to the shop-bought cards. Last year she made a card where her handprint was the stalks of the flowers and finger-print petals with a lovely poem on the vase. Could see how much effort she put into it Loved it so much I framed it and it hangs on the wall in my bedroom.

Sparklett21 · 04/04/2017 22:43

Just all the family together & perhaps a nice piece of cake & a cuppa!!

CristinW · 04/04/2017 22:49

I was quite excited for this Mother's Day as it was the first one in 4 years that I had the day off, I had hand made cards from my kids and some tea and toast in bed. Perfect. Just spending the day with my kids was all I wanted

gemgem123456 · 04/04/2017 22:51

Pamper day would be perfect! And lots of family quality time.

sbruin1122 · 04/04/2017 23:19

Breakfast in bed... and someone else doing the washing!!

Tammyjoe13 · 04/04/2017 23:24

A £300 voucher would be great for my mom she's amazing wonderful caring and loving and would go out her way to see others happy I'd treat her to breakfast in bed flowers chocolates then a meal out x

Mummy2aRockstar · 04/04/2017 23:48

My mum is a paramedic so works shifts, to make her day I'd cook her dinner and run a hot bath so she can relax when she finally gets in.

Perfectmom1972 · 04/04/2017 23:50

My children love spending the whole day with me. Sunday roast with my mum and my nan here. Spending time with all of them is so precious.

Cheryl36 · 04/04/2017 23:55

My elderly mum is ill health. I gave her a bubble bath with new bubbles & put her in new pjs. I also put some flowers and a card on her bedside cabinet so she would see them when she woke up & her carer would see them to open & read her card to her.

PiaMaria79 · 04/04/2017 23:58

As long as I get kisses, cuddles and a handmade card from my 3 little ones I'm happy. A lie in is definitely an added bonus. I'm easy that way as never thought I'd celebrate Mothers Day myself (I was adamant I'd never get married or have children up until my 30th) and then met my now husband and voila! ;)

Flapdoodles · 05/04/2017 09:55

My Mother's Day was perfect - a lie in, breakfast in bed and DH took DS to the football instead of me.

I am really not bothered gifts, I prefer spending the day having dinner cooked for me (and the kitchen tidied up afterwards) and going out for the day and home made cards.

Bechoole · 05/04/2017 09:56

No plans! Thats what makes it special and time to be spontaneuos, lets the kids decide what they want me to do
