Co-op wants to know how you would make your mother’s day? - £300 voucher to be won NOW CLOSED

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Co-op wants to find out what would make your mother’s day this coming Sunday. Maybe she’s a Mum with simple tastes, and a card or bunch of flowers will suffice to make her really happy? Or perhaps you’re going all out this year, inviting her around for a meal and a day spent with the family. If you’re taking a more creative approach, perhaps you’ll be making her gifts by yourself, or just planning a day together for some one-on-one time with you - maybe brunch and the cinema? As a mum, tell us what would make your day extra special?

Here’s what Co-op has to say: “This Mother’s Day we want everyone to think about their mum and how to make it really personal and special to her. To not only buy the usual expected mother’s day gifts, but to really think about what makes your mum happy. Because only when you really know your mum can you really make it her day.”

Whatever it is that you’re going to do to make your mother’s day really special, Co-op wants to know. Please share your thoughts below - everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw and one MNer will win a £300 Co-op vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Spending time on Mother's Day is lovely when life is hectic it is sometimes difficult to focus. We had a lovely homemade meal and a long walk after. The simple things in life!

This year was my 1st Mother's day and it was lovely. I was treated to a lie in (9am Smile followed by breakfast and snuggles with my baby girl. I got a lovely engraved locket with a picture of us both in, and a personalised mug. Now I smile everytime I have a brew!! Following breakfast we went to a local baby show and had a lovely walk in the sunshine. It really was a lovely day and I look forward to many more Smile

Lie in( a proper one not the kids coming in every 5mins from 7am) no dishes/laundry/nappies. Mother's Days lunch made for me and a lovely long walk with all my cherubs.

Would have loved to have seen my mum but will be seeing her this weekend instead. Will definitely make it up to her and have a lovely weekend. I am happy with cards and spending the day with my children. A bonus if I don't have to cook a Sunday roast!

melaspurt · 04/04/2017 11:55

My mum prefers handmade gifts and card and time spent with her rather than expensive gifts. She also likes flowers, but as long as not much money is spent!

I live too far away from my Mum to see her on Mothers Day so we will be heading up this weekend when it's school holiday time. I know for a fact she would say that us making the journey up and getting to see her grandchildren is a gift already and makes her day but we've got little gifts to give her from the children and tickets for her and my Dad to go and see a musical next month.

I would love to just spend the day with my two boys and daughter in law, husband too of course, have a meal together with a couple of drinks! Later just sit together chat and relax, this would make a fab Mother's Day for me!!

Microem1 · 04/04/2017 12:32

jphowden89 · 04/04/2017 12:38

Take her out for a meal at a local restaurant she keeps saying she wants to visit but never has the time.

My mum is now 94 and there's nothing she really needs or wants, she still lives independently and is fit and healthy. What we did was to take her out for a drive in the car and then we took her out for lunch, she had a wonderful day and we'd bought her a selection of her favourite sweets too.At her age very year we have with her is a bonus and we're so incredibly lucky to have her x

gemmahendry1990 · 04/04/2017 13:39

toptecus3 · 04/04/2017 14:37

for the perfect mothers day . i love to just have the day off . no cooking no cleaning . and relax

cathyov · 04/04/2017 14:59

My mum lives over a hundred miles away so a visit and flowers (has to be freesias as they her favourites) always makes her Mother's Day. My sister and I also arranged a voucher for her to have a massage with a masseur she has not visited in ages but she used to say was the best and as she did not know she was still doing them she was so pleased and hopefully it will make her feel special when we not there to do the job in person.

Jillf1968 · 04/04/2017 15:54

Please make my Mother's Day, flowers, chocolates and a lovely voucher

chaderton321 · 04/04/2017 16:15

My perfect Mothers Day is boiled egg and toast soldiers and a nice hot cup of tea. A bunch of flowers from my hubby and a Mothers Day card each from the children. Totally Happy.

baberooo · 04/04/2017 16:18

I just love lots of cuddles with my boys big and small; followed by a family barbecue and a long energetic walk. That would be my idea of the best Mothers Day of all.

tishist · 04/04/2017 16:43

She actually hates the concept of a 'Mother's day'! I'm cooking her a nice meal next time I see her though.

angelacringle · 04/04/2017 17:28

I would take my Mum out and treat her to a meal, then we would have a few drinks

Beckiboop85 · 04/04/2017 18:40

Well I have booked her a wine tasting class ready for her 40th birthday trip to Rome she is going on and she loved it :-)

hermagesty · 04/04/2017 18:58

Perfect mothers day is a lie in and not having to lift a finger all day!! Oh.. and chocolate!! Lots of chocolate!
