With Christmas around the corner, Homebase wants to know all about your festive favourites and the seasonal must-haves you just can’t live without.

Would Christmas without a tree not be Christmas at all? Have your baubles got to be a certain colour to fit in with the rest of the décor? And is there only one style of lighting you could ever have in your home?

Whatever’s essential to you this Christmas, visit homebase.co.uk and post a link below to the products you just can’t live without - and tell us why.

So for a chance to win a £300 Homebase voucher, simply take the survey and add a comment below.

Thanks and good luck,

This small item really cements Christmas for our daughters. On Christmas morning the girls come downstairs to find snow footprints from the fireplace to their presents then to the finished glass of milk and half eaten cookie. They love the idea of Santa.

I switched to multicoloured lights last year as a throwback to my childhood and loved the effect so I'm buying more this year for the giant tree in my garden.

Because you can't have Christmas dinner without pulling crackers first, reading out the awful jokes and putting on the paper hats.

I use gift bags to separate presents by household - we buy for a lot of people and after a mix up where I picked up the wrong gifts before a 3 hour trip to see family, I buy big gift bags and label them by family!

Love this red stag head decoration, fun for the kids and fits with our red decorating theme.

Chocolates, satsumas and mince pies - the taste and smell of them always gives me the feeling of Christmas and it doesn't fell like Christmas without them!

Probably the dullest answer ever but I love lots of candles around the house and outside so I find this light invaluable as it makes them easy to light and easy to keep out of reach of the toddler.

I love Christmas, and the countdown to Christmas is so special for us! I love the wooden advent calendars so you can pop your own sweets or small toys etc inside to really personalise them, and also to build up the excitement!! Such a lovely range at Homebase this year!!

This one is really nice:

It's not Christmas without a real tree.

SmallBee · 24/11/2016 11:14

My Christmas essential is the Christmas stockings. They're so special and require a lot of love and thought to go into them. This year I've commissioned a friend to make my DC their own personalised stockings and I can't wait to see them.

binbags, for all the wrapping paper on xmas morning otherwise lounge ends up as mountainful maze of presents in varying degrees of unwrappedness surrounded by piles of ripped of wrapping paper.

I always like to hang a lovely wreath www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/real-look-berry-and-pinecone-christmas-wreath-370264

FeelingSmurfy · 24/11/2016 13:44

There has to be at least one tree! I choose this because we like to have a living tree www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/living-needlelast-nordman-fir-christmas-tree-2-25ft-098703

We have a mismatch of decorations collected over the years

NauticalDisaster · 24/11/2016 13:54

It has got to be a Christmas Tree:

A Christmas stocking has become an essential since I had children - one of my favourite memories was the morning when my DS1 was two and a half and came running into my room all surprised to find it hanging on his door. Can't wait for DS2 to be old enough to understand what it's all about Smile

Itmustbemyage · 24/11/2016 15:44

RebeccaEMumsnet this survey is annoying when you click on a picture, to have a close look when deciding between options as the pictures are quite small, and then go back to the survey it wipes out all your previous answers. I gave up after the third time it did this.

Christmas tree with lights, it feels magical still when we put it up :)

Isis1981uk · 24/11/2016 16:29

I couldn't get through Christmas without seeing my siblings and parents, it doesn't seem enough people just us & the kids!

www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/40-colour-changing-christmas-lights-370925

Christmas isnt christmas without colour changing lights! for me the lights are the best part and i always miss them when i pack them away, id keep them out all year if i could, I could never do christmas without a tree either it would feel strange and not like i was fully taking part - the children decorate it so it usually looks a bit haphazard but i love it all the same!

SillyMoomin · 24/11/2016 16:31

Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves Smile

The first two because they are added to biscuits, cakes, mulled wine... it just makes the house smell festive

Cloves I use in pommanders which always gives me that old vintage Christmas feeling
